The simple fact is that the JW Hermeneutics of the Sacred Scripture is flawed due the lack of credible translators. This begs the question which came first the inept hermeneutics which gave rise to a flawed exegesis and theology or did the theology of the JW's drive the deficient exegesis and influence the attempt at the translation? No educated person can for one microsecond take seriously the JW bible. translation of John 1:1-14
The Catholics only studies the life of Christ but is the word "Catholic" is in the bible? i'am a catholic but i believe in my friend who is much more smarter than the pope because the witnesses are smarter than the pope
@cjbaynas The word Trinity is not in the bible, but is biblical. The word "Catholic" was first used to describe the universal Church as far back as the first century of Christianity. Catholics Follow the word of God through Sacred Scripture and his only Church. In fact most don't realize how actually intelligent the Pope is. JW's are great people, but misled by false doctrines.
@havock89 Thank you. I believe though the earliest occurrence of the term is in a letter of St. Ignatius of Antioch, written 20 years after the last book of the New Testament.
@CatholicApologia Yes, that reference was to the Catholic church. However in the epistles the church is referred to as a "universal body" which was written in the original koine greek as Kata holos. It is definately there and does answer the claim that the word catholic is in the bible.
God bless you and your family - and have a merry Christmass.
@cjbaynas Have you read anything written by the Pope? We are very fortunate to have such a well educated and intelligent Pope in Benedict XVI, who also happens to be a Scripture scholar.
JWs cannot maintain a reasonable discourse with a knowledgeable Catholic. It looks like the points you were responding to were aimed at giving confidence to the avg JW so that they can target cultural Catholics. I have a JW customer that initiated what I thought was a friendly discussion with me in an attempt to convert me, but a friend of his came over to bail him out through distraction when he couldn't maintain his arguments. I haven't heard from him since.
@BeingBob This was a response to THEJWTRUTH who sent me some Private messages. I have added links in the video now to his/hers videos in response to.
This also serves as some common objections I get in the comments of the JW videos. You are right, they usually will talk about how they convert many Catholics, but the problem is, most of those Catholics, never new their faith very well. As Catholics, we need to know our faith, and share it. Thank you for watching!
