2m around my home QTH has too many ears so a few of us have migrated over to the 23cm band and I personally LOVE 900mhz. Have 4 radios personally, can operate mobile, base, and portable. Even put up a 19db yagi for the shack.. I LOL everytime I look up and see the 8 FOOT Long boom with the 8" elements. :)
lol as much as i love radios, i would not transmit, and have an antenna of that size right next to my face, for some reason it just freaks me out hahahah
Do you have an adapter for the antenna or is that antenna mini uhf? I would like to see some programing videos for the GTX and if you had it for the Maxtrac as well. What antenna do you use on your mobile? Good video I have several radios and would love to build a repeater for 900. 73 KR8U
That antenna has an N-male connector. I'm using a metallic Mini-UHF to N-Female connector with the antenna threaded directly onto that adapter in this video. I'll see what I can do regarding programming videos for the GTX's, I have a few more radios to program soon! I use a PCTEL 5dBd gain antenna (8dbi) on an NMO mount in the mobile. I'll shoot some video of that, too. 73's de N3LEE
I'm positive it's the 12W. the 30W version is a lot deeper. All MCS2000's have a large heatsink surface similar to the CDM and XTL series mobile radios...
STOP YOUR FRYING YOUR BRAIN MAN !
