  • STOP YOUR FRYING YOUR BRAIN MAN !

THERE IS A REASON THERE IS A 4 WATT RF LIMIT ON PORTABLE RADIOS !

  • lol. Looks like something I"d do. :)

2m around my home QTH has too many ears so a few of us have migrated over to the 23cm band and I personally LOVE 900mhz. Have 4 radios personally, can operate mobile, base, and portable. Even put up a 19db yagi for the shack.. I LOL everytime I look up and see the 8 FOOT Long boom with the 8" elements. :)

    73s!

(Don't want to advertise my call on here, Sorry!)

  • lol as much as i love radios, i would not transmit, and have an antenna of that size right next to my face, for some reason it just freaks me out hahahah

  • if i get that anntenna mys will work i got the same one??

  • Do you have an adapter for the antenna or is that antenna mini uhf? I would like to see some programing videos for the GTX and if you had it for the Maxtrac as well. What antenna do you use on your mobile? Good video I have several radios and would love to build a repeater for 900. 73 KR8U

  • That antenna has an N-male connector. I'm using a metallic Mini-UHF to N-Female connector with the antenna threaded directly onto that adapter in this video. I'll see what I can do regarding programming videos for the GTX's, I have a few more radios to program soon! I use a PCTEL 5dBd gain antenna (8dbi) on an NMO mount in the mobile. I'll shoot some video of that, too. 73's de N3LEE

  • cool...! I brought my 1/4 watt FM transmitter to Japan hope I don't get arrested. Goes about 1/4 mile maybe less. Cheers!

  • big heat sink for 12 w

    sure its not the 32w

    kc2pkn

  • I'm positive it's the 12W. the 30W version is a lot deeper. All MCS2000's have a large heatsink surface similar to the CDM and XTL series mobile radios...

  • I have a hand held Motorola GTX 900 mhz, would it communicate with your radio in this video?

  • @n3lee Do these radios light up on the back at night and are they anygood?

  • Got it for $10 at a flea market! I will post the model number the next time i see it...

  • Lee, Where did you get that antenna?

  • cool

  • hi,thankyou for uploading the video,verygood indeed i like qrp,from n.ireland 73s
