I'm neither mad, nor black, nor a troll. I've never 'trolled' someone (didn't actually know it was a verb!) and I don't own, or listen to, any "shity elevatormusic". So I'm not entirely sure who you spied with your little eye, but I don't think it was me.
Indeed both bass guitar and double bass are string instruments, as is a guitar, not to mention the many many jazz violinists there have been and jazz orchestras with full string sections.
"The normal version" is terrible. It's a boring, poorly developed, banal chord progression that is simply repeated 57 times. It is also loved so much by bad musicians that it becomes as inescapable as it is awful for those of us that have moved past the 17th century. I hate it with a passion as does anybody who actually plays an instrument.
@bpdoirs the amount of logical fallacies in your statement disturb me. Have you and shake my faith in our species's collective future. Have you received an education or no?
I don't think I have to defend the original work of art again a random 21st century person on the internet. You think you have "moved" past it? Get over yourself and remove the wax out of your ears. The music theory behind it supports itself, I encourage you to research it academically.
@Th3Skull3r I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say - your English doesn't exactly help with the translation. Speaking of logical fallacies; you might want to check spelling before you pass comment on my education. What exactly do you mean by "random 21st century person"? That I'm living in the 21st century? Hmm...
Granted; the "moved past the 17th century" comment was stupid. Some amazing music came from that period. (To be continued...)
@Th3Skull3r But regarding the Canon - the "theory behind it" (all three lines of it) is as simple as it is pointless. Theory helps to write notes but it takes human feeling to create music, and ultimately, when it comes to labelling music as "good" or "bad", human perception is everything and theory has little or no bearing! I stand by what I said about the canon... (why is there a bloody character limit on youtube?!)...
@Th3Skull3r i.e. it's boring, banal, and overplayed to such an extent that it has become extremely tiresome to musicians that find themselves performing it every other day.
@Th3Skull3r Actually, yes it does have a lot to do with logical fallacies. I wasn't laughing at your poor spelling, rather at the fact that you criticised my education whilst seemingly being unable to write coherently yourself. On that note - what is "trolling"?
Boring IS subjective, but in this case it's the opinion of many. Pachelbel's Canon is a joke shared between musicians, and you can't just 'not play it'. Musicians are commissioned, apart from anything else, and it's not like if
@Th3Skull3r someone next to you is reading Shakespeare (you don't have to read it too), rather that you have to listen when it's played, which is far too often.

bpdoirs 1 year ago
@bpdoirs Your argument can be applied to ANY piece of music that exists.
Boring is subjective as well as banal. And if you think it is overplayed... then play something else.
It's the same idiocy of people saying "SHAKESPEARE IS OVERRATED AND OVER READ!!!" just read something else if you don't want to read it.
and lol @ spelling criticism... that has nothing to do with logical fallacies. My post was completely understandable to anyone with any discernment.
Now stop trolling this music.

It starts out normally with Canon in D Major. When the 5/4 starts, it changes to D minor.
