  • Some basic fixes that make a big difference. Nice ...

  • Great video man ! and damn that engine is fuel efficient !

  • your alternator bearing is bad man, and i would not recoment run the engine in idle so long, because the lubrication system is not designet to provide enough oil for so long time at idle.

All VW/Audi/RO engines had this "issue" until mid80's or early 90's, thats even marked in the (at least german) users manual

  • @felix945 Thanks man, yeah I knew about the idle thing so I usually put it on fast idle^^

  • i gotta put some fresh gas in my truck, and i got some Sta-bil for it as well, so hopefully that keeps the fuel good in the truck over the winter, you really should put some fresh gas and mix some Sta-bil into the fuel for the Beetle, we typically just leave the fuel over the winter in the lawn mower, and its always fine, i might mix some Sta-bil into the fuel for the lawn mower and chainsaw this year,

our Briggs Murray lawn mower is great on fuel also, never needs any fuel,

  • Cool vid man!, you've got some nice machines :D

    I like that beetle!

you got lucky with that snow blower :D, last time I pulled a ignition lead off like that it bit me like a hornet :(

  • @Aussie50 Thanks! Yep I was a little worried but I got lucky :D

  • The fuel pump in the VW isn't the only thing that "does the bad"!!! Yes, Daniel, why do you turn the key off upon every restart of the Kafer?

  • @JSneaker VWs usually have non-repeat ignition switches (to prevent you from being an idiot and grinding the starter when the engine is already running), so you have to turn the key off before cranking again.

  • @vwestlife Smart of the germans to do that eh? ^^

  • i think the fuel pump is a bit screwwy on ur vdub

  • Does the fuel pump in the Volkswagon bad?

  • @gatrwrks nope it just has old gas in it so it was hard to start

  • Haha did u put that toilet paper in the tree, or did some kids do it?

I still can't believe you haven't done anything with your VW this year! Oh well, next year.

I would have siphoned all the gas out instead of just letting them run out, but then again I'm a cheap bastard, and gas is a dollar a litre haha

  • @wilkes85 The reason Dan put the toilet paper in the tree was because he's very GREEN. He recycles and reuses it, just like you do your old gas! Everything just seems to work better after a bit of fresh air. It's expensive here in Screw York as it is up in Canada also!

  • @wilkes85 yeah I was too laxy to look for my syphon lol, and yeah I put that TP in the tree xD

  • ahhh ze winter is on ze way. I have been spending weeks getting my stuff ready for winter. You're from upstate new york right? are winters bad up there?

  • @tractormandale yeah they can get pretty cold and snowy up here I have some winter videos up where you can see how it gets^^

  • "the toilet paper is hanging in he trees" LOL

Why do you turn the key off every time the VW quits?

those quantum briggs engines have a pretty good fuel reserve that ya can't see.

snowblower should start easy considering you prime it so much fuel is pouring out the carburetor lol!

  • @KrankieV2 All VW ignitions have a non repeat function so you can't repeat crank it over by mistake and fuz0r your starter up ^^ pretty smart I think

  • @coolbluelights ok, that's a neat feature! i'd prolly install a button for the starter if it was hard to start like that though.

  • @KrankieV2 yeah, it usually starts right up if I run it every day, it's just starting hard because it's been sitting with old gas in the tank.

  • Amazing isn't it, time to get ready for winter again. And you have a lot toys to prep for storage and get out for winter fun.
