I think everybody is completely missing the picture here ... you are all moaning about having no women on your engineering courses and yet all comments are either sexist or calling the rest of the women engineers ugly ..........

Secondly, how would you expect to attract more women onto the courses if all you show is a video full of male mechanical engineers? Women would prefer not to be alone on the course with a group full of men, you need women to attract women!

This made me laugh so hard, they want to make it look like you can actually meet women in a mechanical engineering degree. At my university I'm lucky if I can get two girls in any of my classes, and even then they're never as attractive as the ones in this video (who are average looking in my opinion). If you do mechanical engineering, be warned that about 95% of the people you work with will be males.

I think Mechanical Engineering may give you industry focus early in education only if you are able to get into a school that offers work study program.

Most Mechanical Engineers go into fields by chance, go with flow, because they found the job there.

I know some Mechanical Engineers completing Ph.D in specific fields like aeronautical to make their profession more focussed.

This is generally not true of other fields, where you have the industry focus early in your career & peace of mind.

Mechanical Engineering is so diverse that many students have no idea what they will be doing after they graduate.

And, that is a negative, because you subjects like kinematics, dynamics, gas dynamics, machine design, or heat transfer, fluids mechanics with no focus or hands on.

As an example, aeronautical engineer may be studying the same courses, but he knows where he is heading, the aircraft. And, that is what makes Mechanical Engineering aim less, and other fields more interesting.
