  • what a fantastic performance! Pure music and totally entertaining; every time I saw them in concert I was blown away.

  • If more music was like this today, people would actually PAY for music.

  • note how Livgren has a Les Paul around his neck while manning two keyboards...need I say more? and do you ever see Livgren's name come up in anyone's list of favorite guitarists?

  • Kansas were true artists...Today all the music prodigys have been silenced by the music producers who have created pseudo - music stars, and have marketed todays crap to the young people. America's music has fallen off the cliff.

  • One of the all-time best bands!

  • ...the Mark of Cain... is on your faces...?

...I stand before you now, a riddle in my song... 7:31 *

  • I just cannot believe my ears!! Very Good ***!!

  • Are there any other American Progressive Rock Bands? These guys took the Brits to School!

  • @DrinkThunderbird Spock's Beard is very good. Try albums like "V", "Snow" or "X", their latest. I think you might enjoy them!

I'm new to Kansas but I'm very impressed by what I've heard so far. Best music I've heard in a long time!

  • Awesome performance. Everybody sounded just perfect. And it such a great song.

  • these guys come from a time long past where all that mattered was the music not image or earnings they made music because it poured from their heart and soul how many musicians can drive a song home like these guys...

  • Para min uma das 10 melhores do mundo... eles são os caras!

  • This is absolutely astounding. hahaha, where am I?

  • Perfectly executed. Crazy complex composition. Everyone performing from memory. I am in awe of Kansas and the power of their music.

  • This is by far of the best songs in the history of music. The violin playing is superb and Steve Walsh is definitely one of the best piano players to ever live. I love how it says Rock Concert.. real music was back in the day.

And it will never be the same.

  • Band name should be Kansas Virtuosos.

Saw this D.Kirshner In Concert one Friday night and 40-50 live performances later exact same musical reproduction. Studio quality. Coming to ' Frontier Days' 4th of July 2011 in my backyard to see these aged

musical warriors. Giving enjoyment for 35+years.

BTW Get well/ fully recovered K Livgren; an inspirational lyricists to a generation and generations to come. Carry On wayward son!!!

  • carry on wayward son and dust in the wind my butt...

    this is kansas

  • A masterpiece for the ages,,,,,

  • This was ROCK chillun; I weep for our world!

  • Fist I agree that this is amoung their finest pieces of music...Kerry wrote and orcestrated it perfectly...not to ment the lyrics and his playing two inst. so that they COULD do it live. This is real music...reall rock real PROG> Like ELP ans King Crimson...with their own favors...Kerry Carry on!

  • @jpheitman Carry on my bed son, part 2.

  • Probably my all-time favorite band. They are one of the great ones for sure. I spent hours pplaying drums to their records, still do from time to time. Should be required listening in any serious music class.

  • only 29 idiots that missed the like button!

  • Best American ProgRock band ever! And still rockin". Poor Kerry Livgren, the torured soul. Made his best music while fighting his demons. Relax Terry, there is no devil, just beauty. And you found it!

  • If your erection should last for 9 minutes and 27 seconds you are a music fan.

  • 7:33 SOLO * HOLY SMOKE !

God was Part Responsible, for this one, maybe ???

  • I think they are great musicians and the predecessor to bands like manowar and rhapsody. Who used the same kind of epic storytelling.

  • too much violin for my taste :(

  • USA BEST ROCK BAND & LYRICS ???

  • Fuck... This is art

  • Incredible music. I'm so lucky to have grown up woth these guys!

  • a band of Topeka hayseeds playing godly, majestic, skillfully orchestrated, complex progressive rock ....the mould was never so thoroughly broken. If image was as important in 1975 as it is now, the music of Kansas would have never seen the light of day.

  • One of the great bands of the 70's.

  • THIS SONG IS MADDNESS

  • The keyboardist screws up at 6:14

  • So easy a Caveman can do it!

  • I can't imagine what it's like to have that kind of music running around in your head - much less be able to reign it in, write it down and get other people to understand it so they can play it.

  • @keithayork1 Ian Anderson breathes music like this and better in his sleep.

  • @keithayork1

yeah that's probably what the Mozart kids were like growing up.

music is a magic all its own.

  • hagrid!

  • you have to start moving toward the indie scene. the underground, local, music scene is teeming with true music, you need only look for it. godspeed!

  • LIE-ING... AT MY FEET, I SEE THE

OFFERING YOU BRING. THE MARK OF CAIN...

  • Absolutely beautiful! Such complex composition. Kansas truly were the undisputed MASTERS OF MUSIC!

  • is there anyway to find this in a better quality? this is so amazing but there are only vhs ripps of it on youtube- if anyone knows please tell me.....

  • Playing a 9 1/2 minute piece (I hesitate to use "song", doesn't do it justice) on TV? Ballsy.

Six guys on stage, and they're all DOING something. Do you see any dancers? No. Do you see anyone worried about anything other than his part, in a very complex piece of music? No. Do you see anyone who's pretty at all? No, they're all pretty ugly, actually.

See, it's ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC. And this was their best piece, in my oh-so-humble opinion.

  • @Drchainsaw77 One thing you said, "it's ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC.".

    and OOOOOOHHHH such great music!

  • @Drchainsaw77

    Damn straight!

  • Poor 28 Bieber fans... They don't what they are losing.

  • CHRIST SINGS HERE ???

    USA MASTERPIECE 100 % *

  • Kansas is awesome! They even worked with Ronnie Dio on a few songs! Just shows how versatile they all are.

  • Bassman, I didn't know Kansas worked with Dio. Do you have any more information on that?

  • @5muftak well its just him with kerry livgren. check out the songs mask of the great deceiver and to live for the king.

  • Steve's voice sounds stunningly good here. This is just an outstanding performance. I can't imagine what it would have been like being in the audience for this.

  • The violin guy scares me...

  • WOW that dude gots some fluffy hair!!

  • @Greekisme Mine does that! It stayed fluffed out well into my 50s, too. 'Course, being mostly Sweedish helps. Ah, but there comes a time for many of us when we wake up one morning and say, JAY-zis, I look like a total dweeb! If I was still singing I'd have kept it. But as they say, Accidents will happen and, as such, that's all in my past.

  • at :25, it looks like he picks a piece of lint off the keyboard and throws it on the floor

  • @timin770 also at :35......wtf is he doing with his hand there?

  • @timin770 you're right about the lint of something on his keyboard and at 0:35 he apparently had something on his hand that he brushed off cuz it was probably bothering him

  • What is the name of the guy with long hair and beard?

  • Fascinating!!!!! Outstanding!!!!!

  • Steve Walsh is the shit!!! Love these guys!

  • 3:10 - In the chorus, both Steve Walsh and Robby Steinhardt sang first "I stood where no man goes", but after, Walsh sang a verse of the last chorus, saying "above the din I rose", while Steinhardt sang the real verse "and conquered demon foes".

  • ttss this is the old dream teather, or dream teather is the new kansas

  • I saw Kansas play with Mahogany Rush and Queen at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. around 1976. I cant seem to remember the exact date anymore but that concert is a true memory forever branded in my brain. I think some other chemicals helped, and a beautifull girl named Gloria and my best friend Steve, but anyway....FAROUT!

  • Nuff said. Kansas was a killer show in the day.

  • Awesome !! Incredible !!Masters!!

  • im a teen and definately perfer this, one of my fav bands. nirvana, styx, rolling stones, who, beatles, kansas, all of these are so much better than anything in today's music

  • I'm so glad that I was kid of the '70s!! ;}

  • True Art. :P

  • Love, love, love this song and the album it was on. They do rock the right way. I have every album they ever made and still cannot get enough.

  • Goddamn, I was scared to look up other material by Kansas for fear it wouldn't be as good as "Carry On Wayward Son" or "Dust In The Wind", but I'm pleasantly surprised to find they're damn good.

  • THIS is the song before "Carry On Wayword Son."

Last song on the MASQUE Album. Carry On Wayward Son

was 1st on the "Leftoverture" Album. They =FIT= Together.

Find the " ...Riddle in my song... " Sea it ? Here it ? =PEACE=

  • If u think Kansas' music is GODLIKE..-> THUMPS UP! (:

  • @Stackz1Broich Kansas is pretty amazing until "Audio-Visions" after that they went pretty steeply downhill...however Kansas at their worst is still better than 99% of what is out there today

  • @Stackz1Broich Sell out, your doing anything you can for a thumbs up.

  • @Stackz1Broich well some people say the violinist looks like Jesus....makes sense now lol

  • @xDanielx2016 he does look like jesus.

  • This song lasts longer than most sex....

  • @jpheitman,no shit, these freaks nowadays have literally sold their souls they famous n rich but the music only draws the blind n deaf
