THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS SUPER VERSION BY JOHN ON HERE,IVE ALWAYS BEEN A HUGE FAN OF HIS BUT I DIDN'T KNOW HE'D RECORDED THIS ONE.I'M A KEEN NEW ORLEONS JAZZ FOLLOWER AND WAS SEARCHING THIS TITLE WHEN JOHNS FLAGGED UP.HE'S SHOWING THE IMMENSE TALENT HE WAS DEVELOPING IN THIS VIDEO.I CAN FORGIVE ANY SYNC AND QUALITY ON THIS AS IS SO GREAT.THANKS AGAIN,I'LL GO AND SEARCH MORE FROM HIM IN THIS ERA.DWM.SOMRSET.UK.
No one's hair stays the same all through their life. What does hair have to do with his talent. I guess we are shuch a visual and shallow society. The audio quality it not the best but their harmony is right is good.
I'll never forget how powerful a moment it was when John sang this Billy Taylor composition at the National Mobilization against the war in Vietnam on Nov. 15, 1969.
what a beautiful song, what a wonderful song. What a great singer john denver. He's become sort of a house hold name now. He's the best singer/songwriter ever!
What a great find! Thanks Angusyoung111! His talent was so obvious and well developed already. Wow! How amazing it must have been to see him then and recognize his greatness. Here was a young man who would light the world on fire!
Thats a tad rich coming from someone named after a cartoon character @ Waldo...You half wit.....oops..I apologise....didn't mean to insult half wits :-)
Oh I am sure he needed them- JD always had bad eyesight- he tried to get in the AF like his dad and couldn't in part because of eyesight and less than 2 full toes on the right foot!! Looks like he was trying to look "cool"- if Ann Martell was in the audience he was probably trying to impress her too- I would not be surprised!
What color is John's natural hair because it was blond in the 70's but when he was in the Mitchell trio it was brown and in the 80's until his death it was brown
Well, JD changed his hair a lot over the years- longer, shorter, straight, waves. I think he was blonder when he was younger- and remember he LOVED the outdoors so there was probably some natural lightening from being outside so much- which he did a lot in the 70's. As he got middle aged- like just about all of us he probably started seeing the gray coming and most likely did some coloring or highlighting- to more the dirty blonde/light brown look in his last years. His folks had lighter hair.
You are right puck. I'm blonde and sunlight quickly bleaches it to a very bright blonde in the summer and then it darkens again in the winter. His darker hair in later years doesn't mean he dyed it. My hair naturally darkened over the years as it does with many blondes.
I mean, I'm not one of these youtube whiners who tries to fight about stuff.. but I just wanted to say John Denver never 'took up' country music. He was a folk/western artist who had some great success in the country charts. Look up what happened in 1975 when he won country artist of the year.. nasty.
wow, this was before John Denver took up country music, before he grew his hair and wore glasses! He looked much better with short hair and no glasses. Very talented though. RIP John
This was Denver, Boise and Johnson, about 1968. What a pity that this line-up did not last long enough to produce an album. There was just one single. This track shows there was a great talent here, a star about to emerge. It would be just great if something like a live recording would yet emerge to fill this void in John Denver's post Mitchell Trio recording career.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Those lyrics are a tad ironic, given that he found out he couldn't actually fly.
