  • You love your butter as much as Paula Deen lol

  • This looks awesome, thanks!

  • OMG Can I have a slice, that looks sooooooo yummy

  • can we use other fruits? instead of just orange ??

  • can i also use this recipe without syrup?

  • @cameramarvin If you like :)

  • Why are eggs used in cakes?

  • @iliketoloveman To help bind the ingredients and to add moistness ;)

  • @iliketoloveman And to help it rise.

  • I can't wait to try this recipe it's looks so easy and I've looking an easy orange cake recipe like forever because my mom loves orange cake. Thank you so Much:)

  • i must say, the cake came out absolutely delicious, thank you so much :)))))

  • making and baking the cake, wish me luck lol ;)

  • That looks so good! Great job!

  • thanx

  • I'd also recommend doing this but with lemon! mmmmmmmm yum :D

  • My daughter and I watch your show together all the time and she asked for this for her birthday cake. Turned out great. I think it's my new thing to take for potluck. I finally subscribed my own self. Thanks.

  • I LOVE THESE VIDEOS! YOU ARE AMAZING!

  • DELICIOUS ... orange cake is my favorite :)

  • oh my goohd i frkn loove every recipe of yours, really nice work, keep it coming ^^

  • omg..when i watched this video i swear i smelled the fragrant from this orange cake too..OH YUM!! thankss <33

  • change the orange out for lemons and you got lemon cake

  • did this recipe with less butter and added chocolate chips aswell , fantastic...

  • juice of 1 orange.. ummm.. how much would you say that is? 1/2 cup? Im not using oranges but orange juice from a jug.. i figured that depending on the size of the orange will have only so much juice. and i couldnt see on ur measuring cup in the vid how much u had in it . thanks for any help :)

  • @evilwoman24 I highly recommend using juice from an orange + orange zest. As for the measurement, it was about 150ml approx. ;)

  • Just in time, I can have cake for breakfast!

  • >< So good looking!!

White flour? Could you use self rising?

haha, I'm no good with baking yet :P

  • @HybridHumanSquid I used self raising flour in the video ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow :D Thank you!

  • @HybridHumanSquid white flour is just a type of flour. Its otherwise called 'all purpose flour'. Self-raising flour means thats there has already been leavening agents added (what helps muffins/cakes etc. rise). Plain flour is usually for cookies or foods that don't require raising such as tortilla's or other flat breads. Only white flour/gluten free holds a self-raising range (organic flours usually do not) To substitute you can just use 2 teaspoon of baking powder per cup of plain flour :)

  • @MissPonderosa Oh~ Thank you so much for this! I'm a culinary student and the whole baking thing is confusing. I guess baking is not one of my stronger points. I'm still learning about all the types of flour and

I never realized there were so many, for so many different purposes. Again thank you very much! :3

  • @HybridHumanSquid Your welcome! Many types of flours! (chickpea, rye, rice, oat) any grain can produce flour (wheat is cheapest). White/bleached flour is heavily processed and in large amounts is not good. Becuase white flour has been processed so much its perfect for baking as it creates a light and fluffy end product (using flours such as rye does not work well in isolation when making bread!. More healthier options are whole-wheat (more of the grain intact) ask away, Im an open book :D

  • i love really moist cake and you could tell this one was!! great vid!!

  • i think i had a heart attack watching.

  • Arghhh you're killing me. I want this cake now. Now I have to make it lol.

    Looks super good!

  • @RavenCK Go on - go and make it. It has fruit in it, if that helps you justify it hahaha :P

  • "oh my gawd.." lol you're being raped off-screen by the cake! haha i really want to try this recipe, looks good & simple :)

  • @twentythree2life LOL that's one naughty cake hahaha :P

  • looks awesome!

  • looks awesome!

  • @ownhomedog Thanks for watching :)

  • I love a moist cake. I love orange cake. Sounds like a winner to me.

  • @53531640 You'll love it - it's my new favorite recipe :)

  • Great recipe. I just made marble cake yesterday, I'll try this one next weekend.

What is great about this recipe is the options you have for it. You could put any juice you want, maybe red orange, maybe pineapple, maybe even strawberry :)

Of course, the best is the original with orange, but it's worth trying.

  • @846524162 Have a go experimenting and let us know what works ;)

  • nor do i make anything i still enjoy every bit of the videos.

    thanks for the entertainment :)

  • @Raphcoll You're welcome - I'm glad you like my videos :)

  • Sir have you ever considered being on FOOD NETWORK. :)

  • @hareem I'm happy on YouTube for the time being - but should they make me an offer, I might be interested :)

  • nice

  • @difflock77 Thanks for watching :)

  • i love oranges so i will really be looking forward to trying this dish out.

  • @mylove1 I hope you enjoy it :)

  • Amazing!! have you ever done a baked alaska video?

  • @SATIJAF I haven't done baked alaska, I'd have to wait for Winter otherwise it would melt too quickly :)

  • @OnePotChefShow ah nooo that means i have to wait a whole year :)

  • Oh Gosh! If my parents or I could cook like you I would be eternally happy. :)

  • @mufiin1 Give it a go, you can do it too :)

  • Oh David! I bought my first grader a cupcake baker and we are making your cake into cupcakes now and I wish everyone could smell them baking. My little girl and I just LOVE you because I teach her to cook using your gifts to us. Lamington cookies and fans for life, brother ;-)

  • @OUARNP Orange Syrup Cupcakes? That sounds outstanding!!! :)

  • what if you dont have a food processor? D:

  • @Superstars1304 Simply cream the butter and sugar together (in a mixing bowl) until smooth, then mix in the remaining ingredients ;)

  • Great recipe! Thank you for posting.

  • @jasongiddensviper478 You're very welcome - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • In a shop today I heard the song you use at the start of your videos in a advert playing over speaker and I couldn't stop laughing and smiling to myself, I looked so silly.

  • @LidsAreFun I hope it was advertising something nice :)

  • green oranges?

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX Actually they were orange, but it's a weird lighting effect and the zest looks strange! :)

  • CAN I USE OIL INSTEAD OF BUTTER ?

  • @rekinia No, you need to use butter. But you can use margarine if you prefer ;)

  • Will be making this tonite! Thank you for sharing :)

  • @JenPianoWoman You're very welcome - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • what is your preferred choice of oranges for this recipe?

  • @chiack82 I used Navel Oranges for this recipe, but really any good quality, juicy orange will do ;)

  • haha everytime you say american friends, my head goes, "that's me!"

  • @chiuchiutrain92 LOL awesome :)

  • LOOKS GOOD BUT SOO MUCH BUTTER... i dont think id wanna eat it if i made it. if you gave it to me without telling me the butter content ill devour it. for sure. lol

  • @TriniChula84 It sounds like a lot, but it is a big cake ;)

  • Oh man that looks so good. Want some now :D

  • @pocketbikefreak666 Thanks for watching :)

  • why is the orange juice so red?

  • @MrCrownKing because of the blood

  • @MrCrownKing Because you need to adjust your computer monitor - the orange juice is orange :P

  • You took a bite of the cake and your OH MY GOD made me swallow like I was the one tasting the cake! Absolutely makes me jealous I was not the one that got to taste the cake :(

  • @rensnita LOL jealousy is the start of all great friendships :P

  • omg looks so moist and juicy! <333

If I try if myself, I'll probably add some orange liqueur or rum, just because I love alcohol in cakes. Oh, and I'd also serve it with something creamy, maybe some whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream to counteract the (presumably) strong orange flavor. :)

  • @shyic Great ideas - I hope you enjoy experimenting :)

  • is it flaky??

  • @pamdento It's moist and delicious ;)

  • that turned out beautifully.

  • @XxDominexX I hope you give it a try sometime - you'll love it :)

  • It always looks so good when raw

  • @P0P357UR3 Thanks for watching :)

  • Are you kidding? I'd given it a thumbs up just from the name. I've been salivating from the moment you put in the orange zest. Yummy!!!! With that much butter it would have to be good, but I'll try it for Easter. Thanks!

  • @thizizliz I hope you enjoy it :)

  • This one looks soo good, that I'm making it for the next reunion next week! Now, most of my friends don't believe me, so I'm asking a professional here to describe one thing: What is the zest? I'm not giving my explanation so no-one can say I influenced you.

  • @CommanderGalos Zest is the grated outer layer of the orange skin (rind) ;)

  • eating keeps you away from your dreams.

  • @Audiofreund2 Huh???

  • A lemon version of this would be delicious! Can you make it for us?

  • Does it work for another fruit?

  • @Supergurl829 This works best with oranges ;)

  • Looks super good and moist!!

  • @TheVittleVlog This is the moistest cake you will ever make - it's divine :)

  • I am SO making this for my family!! Now,two admittedly quite stupid questions, but,I'll ask anyway: Presumably I could use another cake tin? And,instead of painting on the syrup,I could make holes in the top of the cake and pour it over?

  • @JackWilkins 1) Yes, you can use any cake tin you like and 2) Yes, you can poke holes and pour. Just be careful to do it slowly and gently so the cake has time to suck up all the syrup.

    Thanks for watching :)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thankyou very much - I will! :o)

  • why it look so wet?

  • @one7892008 Did you see the bit where I painted the syrup onto the cake? The syrup absorbs into the cake, making it extra moist :)

  • what a great recipe except i dont have a ring cake tin :(

  • @nimarocks1 You can use a normal cake tin if you like ;)

  • Ummm......the cake looks soooooo yummm

  • @tatri1 It tastes even better :)

  • OK, that's ridiculously EASY :)))

  • @pamdento Cake doesn't get much simpler :)

  • tub =D

  • @wingscancer What does that mean?

  • @OnePotChefShow told you before =D

its something that may not be very healthy but tasty

  • Omg that looks so moisty and yummy i will try it thx

  • @vidgirl4444 Thanks for watching - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Hmmmm yumm! Guess I will have to bust out my ring cooking fuck for that one! :D x

  • @karmagirl74 I knew you were going to say that HAHAHA :P

  • I just LOVE citrus cakes more than any other types of cake! Would you believe that I actually hate cheesecake and chocolate cake? But this! Definitely loving this!!!

  • @heelrunner This is the ultimate citrus cake - you're going to love it! :)

  • @CodelikeFish Thanks - I'm glad you like them :)

  • @Msjanedoe124 I live to serve hehehe :)

  • thats a loooot of butter :O

  • @EllyDieShelly You can substitute the butter for margarine if you prefer ;)

  • @EllyDieShelly agreed..that is a very dangerous amount if you ask me :(

  • @starvewars I think you're being a little dramatic. I've seen cake recipes that require twice as much butter. It looks like a lot, but when you consider the size of the cake, it's not really that much ;)

  • If only i had a 3d printer right now. That looks mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @mysticpreu I wish I had one too - it would cut down on my cooking considerably!!! :P

  • Look's yummy! I'm going to bake this cake today...

  • @OpenYourTruth I hope you enjoy it - thanks for watching :)

  • awww man that looks so good!

  • you have the shakes like me

  • @acf870 Yeah, I have minor hand tremors from a neurological issue ;)

  • That cake looked so so moist! Too much sugar but looked so so goooood haha

  • @MissPonderosa This is high sugar, but it's amazing as an occasional treat ;)

  • oh yum :D

  • @PytoX Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Yummo! Thumbs up for you!

Orange you glad I didn't thumbs down? ;)

  • @Aussiegirl265 LOL I was wondering how long it would take for the "orange" puns to start hahahaha :P

  • your orange zest looks green here!!! haha!

  • @toffeeaddiction Yeah it does, it's must be the lighting - it was pretty orange in real life! :P

  • is it really moist? i have my reservations about dry-looking cake.

  • @nohohongs It's the moistest cake you'll ever taste - I promise ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Mmmmm moist ;D
