  • "eat your pudding, Mr Land.."

  • Does anyone knows the name of this song in portuguese?

  • stangely enough, my school's Chordsmen sang this for their spring concert few years back

  • @KMxJainaLeighxKM I don't find it strange, as I think that it was a good idea.Hope that it worked out for him.

  • it's always great when you hear actors not best renown for their musical talents. It's usually pretty bad. Kirk is the exception this is bloody good. He sang a song in the Western Man Without A Star and he was just as good then. I'm surprised he didn't do more.

  • Murdoc niccals brought me here... On his pirate radio. He said "MURDOCS GOT A STORY FOR YAH! "

  • @Tehweirdkat LISTEN TO KIIIIIIIRRRK!!!....listen to kirk.

  • I love this song!

  • Wonderful book, even better movie!

  • Someone gave me this on DVD this year and it was edit at the end. I was so pissed I through it out. I found the first relase of the video (unedited) and recorded the song right from the movie.

  • This version for radio is a little down-tempo and the arrangement has been made more campfire than forecastle. And it is missing the bass riff from Thurl Ravenscroft.

  • @carbunicle I have all three version, and the one one the movie is indeed more uptempo due to his performace.Yes the deep voice adds a lot to the song. Thanks for stopping by... :)

  • Kirk Douglas - legend.

  • Last year the guys sang this in the Disney song medley for the chorus concert. It was HILARIOUS.

  • This is my jayyym.

    xD Jk awesome song

  • This was, and still is, my 22-year old daughter's favorite Disney song. She STILL has the cd, and she STILL listens to it. I just pretend not to listen :)

  • this song is engraved in my mind from listening to the disney cd too much as a child :D ... no regrets.

  • It is impossible not to like this song (it's infectious),and seeing Kirk Douglas performing the song in the movie is so much fun.His actions add flavor to the song. Thanks for sharing with us,and thanks for stopping by... :)

  • @badass147 - no apologies, no regrets... at least you appreciate good tunes dude.

  • Wow Kirk Douglas sounds great

  • where can i get the mp3 of this kirk douglas version??

  • Uncle Murdoc really knows what is worth listening to. :D This is such a nice song!

  • I really enjoyed the song too on the radio hehe. Murdoc's style is wack, that's how i like it xD

  • Murdoc rocks! Same with You Only Live Twice =D

  • Haha, you heard it from his pirate broadcast too?

  • Lmao I just listened to that!

Except I have heard this before. Disney released some sing-along VHS videos a long time ago and I used to watch them as a kid. This song was on it, with the clip from the movie as well as some words edited into the bottom.

  • I've read the book 20,000 leagues under the sea, and I watched the film three years ago.

  • This a such a cute song!

  • great song for auditioning for stuff got into little orphan annie :)

  • I like his song in the movie better

  • I like all three versions, but am partial to the movie because of the deep voice singer.

  • Excuse me...

I heard a version of this song, sang for "the hendersons" or "the jeffersons",, i dont remember good...

I search this song... anybody can help?.

  • This is the only version that I've heard, but it would be interesting to know the answer to your question.I'm sure someone will fill us in on this.

  • @mezskr4

The group that i said is from the years 50-70...

I saw this song for you tube, but i dont found the song.

    The video was deleted :(

  • @Nachuelerrimas There was a version done by the Wellingtons (the gents who sang the theme to Gilligan's Island).Although it wasn't in the film, it was on the 20000 leagues under the sea soundtrack.

  • He can really sing!

  • Yes he can.Thank you.

  • This is really great. Now will someone put up a video of Nemo playing the organ?

  • too bad it doesn't have the guy from the movie with the really deep voice

  • Man, this film was part of my childhood, much like the song XD

Still find myself indadvertantly singing it......

  • Im watching the movie now. This is my favorite song i broke the tape and VHS player because of this movie.

  • I like both versions but the song in the movie had a different final verse than the one on this record. Is there a story behind this? the one in the movie references monsters. Maybe the change was for a wider audience that hadn't watched the film?

  • The version of this song that was released on the Disney cd is almost the same, just no mention of monster as in the movie version. Each one (Movie,CD and Record) is just a little bit different. They probably added the word monster for fun, and I think it was a good idea.I also think that your idea as to why it was added is a good one. Thanks for stopping by.

  • What happened with "tale of a whale" of "the jeffersons" or "the henderson", dont remember very well

  • I've just about wore out the video, on the part where kirk sing this song.

  • I have not heard this song in AGES...like a good 17 years or so...back with Sing Along Disney

  • I read the book, watched the movie and i never found this song. I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Your are most welcome.Usually the book is better, but in this case I think that he carried the movie. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Well that sounds like a good idea.A person can't help but like this song.Thank you

  • brings back old memories...

    thank you!

  • i loved it thanks for uplouding.

  • Your welcome, glad you enjoyed it.

  • Awesome song!

  • Thank you

  • Is that instrument in the background an accordion or a harmonica?

  • Sounds like an accordion to me. I think a harmonica has a different has a different feel to it.

  • I think it's a concertina--sounds like an accordion, but each button produces only one note instead of a chord...Sailors often play them, since they're small and transportable.

  • I think that you are right.

  • I find it a bit difficult to sing this one, seeing as I have no tattoo. But you got to love it. This song is so nostalgic.

  • I love This SONG.I sing it some times,when I'm bored.

  • It is a peppy song and can't help but brighten a persons spirts, and he did it so good.Thank you

  • I find myself hummin and a whistlin this lil tune on a regular basis and am chuffed to find the original here. Excellent stuff!

  • Yes it is a very catchy tune, and I'm glad you liked it.Thanks for stopping by.

  • Huh. The soundtrack (avalible on iTunes) has this version on it (in addition to the original and the "Moon got brighter and brighter)

However, the instrumentals on this sound synthesizers, and the deeper-voiced back ups didn't sing in the version I have from the Vinyl. However, yours is crackly and sounds as if it did come from a vinyl recording.

    Can you confirm this?

  • Yes what you hear is from the record pictured, and the record is the original.Hope this answers your question.

  • I love you sooo much for putting this up! ^.^

    xD

    =]]]

  • "She swapped me for a trout!"

    Yeah!!, i love this song

  • Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • My favorite song!!!!!!!

  • Nice sailor's jig. He could carry a tune. Thanks. :)
