  • I bought this ec snare head for my chris adler mapex snare, after watching this and it completly sucks.

  • the EC line fails

  • I hate this head

  • I have the reverse dot and its just to thick and you can't really get all that great of a sound out of it

  • that was the most in depth analysis of a snare head I've ever heard

  • sounds plasticky

  • To all Americans who live in the imperial age of 200 hundred years ago .A "mill" or "millimeter" is one tenth of a centimeter .There is 2.5 centimeters in a inch .

  • @dimetilldeath Incorrect. A mil, also referred to as a 'thou' is one thousandth of an inch. The mil and the metric system are unrelated.

  • @dimetilldeath Better to live in an imperial age than an ignorant one. As for the metric system, it had its roots in a proposal by Louis XVI to reform a system that pretty much didn't need reforming-- and which was finalized during the French Revolution. So it seems the metric system is more "imperial" than the one those of us who think for ourselves use. But nice FAIL on the attempted American insult ;-) Guess we know history better than you...

  • @snugglehound How many gigabites (metric) does Ur pc have? and how long did it take you to copy that info from Wikipedia? Imperial is inferior to metric in terms of simplicity and division of units . Metric is divisible by Ten in every unit. It follows the same formula as the universal number system ,which is why it was invented . you stubborn Americans like to be different don't you...so very sPeCial.

  • @xlmBigSmoke ehh wrong.

  • My Reverse dot fell off..

  • This is the only good head that Evans makes.

  • @DrummingNonStop I disagree, Evans makes killer heads. Especially there EMAD Bass drum heads.

  • did anyone elses dot fall off?

  • Where is this Expo? does anyone know of any really great drum expos?? let me know please, thank you

  • wow what a demo, NOT!

  • @Maskedfreakinabox Where did that claim that it was a demo? You have no real reason to complain.

  • he said "about" hello morons!

  • But the real question is Will it Blend....

  • I think he said it was 10mil inner and a 7 mil outer plus the addition of the dot makes it 20mil

So dazzle star you didnt include the dot and Salzcammio you got it !

    Well done!

  • Outside the window at 0:57

    "Whachu call me?"

  • Less talk, More hits. I don't really care how it looks I need the sound XD

  • I've got one of these. I have a low end kit, it rings out way, way, WAY too much for my liking.

  • @AspiringRocker729 Try tightening it the snares, or get muffling gel of a muffle ring, ive got a muffle ring and it works great

  • wow, I love your intro! I came here to watch a demo, instead i found one of the coolest YT-gearcheck-opening-themes ever :-D

  • personally, i hated that head. switched to remo controlled sound and it's a beauty!

  • @3rudymora that is excactly what I did.

  • what's the name of the song in the start?

  • @THA10100 Take me Home - Phil collins

  • say bye bye to rimshots

  • @cskate445 why?

  • that sounds horrible lol

  • I've tried this head on 2 different snares and I've hated it each time. I love Evans drum heads but I can't find a good snare head by them.

  • @frogbeergolfgolf evans power center reverse dot. Good Head!!

  • @drummer4life54

Alright thanks, I'll give it a shot.

  • @frogbeergolfgolf Evans Genera HD2 head is awesome for snares

  • I've had this snare had 3 times for 3 different snares....EACH TIME I hit so hard that the ring came off.

Stay away from this head. Unless you're a light hitter.

  • shit head when he hit it at the center.

  • In my opinion, so much better than the remo CS dot snare head :)but i am an evans man, so i do have an obvious bias :P

  • sounds like a turd

  • played it yesterday ..... bit of a problem doing brushwork

  • ive tried the head with and without the dot and they sound exactly the same.

  • i think they tried too hard with this head adding all those wierd features. It sounds generic and dead. I'm sticking to aquarian.

  • Evans has a lot of great new stuff, but I still think the ST dry is still the best snare head available.

  • someone please help me!!!! i cant chose between EC reverse dot for snare or power center

  • I like the sound of the ring of the snare drum...I don't like it flat and dry.

  • I have this head and it sounds far too dead for me. I like the Onyx and Power Center Reverse Dot heads.

  • @inimicalODDITY

    thats what she said

  • @mmedina1114 Call me crazy, but that doesn't make any sense to me...

  • @inimicalODDITY I agree 100%. I've played 2 snares..both with the snare heads shown here....and I hit so hard that the "ring" in the middle fell off. I'd stick to the Reverse Dot.

  • jeez he messed up his words alot!

  • @AvengedSevenfoldDrum no he didnt

  • Evans are the only heads I'll ever use.

  • I have this head. Sounds amazing tuned medium, really solid sound.

  • @Salzcamino The guy said it was 20 mil WITH the dot

  • @OwMyQuach I know, thats what I said : |

  • @OwMyQuach you are stupid, im not too sure why this comment got thumbs up, the bottom layer is 10 mil, as stated, the top layer is 7 mil, as stated, and the middle dot is a 3 mil dot so that equals 20 mil right in the middle

  • I just bought a HDB14 for my snare is it better than this!?

  • is that a evens head?

  • @jolde800 yep

  • This head sounds great with a moongel on it. I actually didn't at all without one

  • That snare sounds really bad.

  • tried it. Meh. not good enough for me. I'll just stick with my Remo CS thanks.

  • thought about trying out this head... glad i seen this vid. it doesnt sound all that great to me.

  • 20 mil!? Jesus, I'm surprised it doesn't sound like a soggy fish. :P

  • @DazzleStar94 if I did my math right, then it would only be 16.5 or 17 mil depending on the description or the video

  • @OwMyQuach thats the actual head. With the dot you got an extra 3 mil

  • @OwMyQuach you did do your math right, it would be 17 mil outside of the dot, but the dot is another three mil, making it 20, asshole

  • aquarian hi energy is better

  • my ec2 with control center also seperated on my snare. and the head is prictiaclly new. this head sucks!!!!!

  • i have been using a jc1 on my rack tom and i love it i just wish that they stil made them

  • hey, ummm what exactly is a JC1? lol I'm not all that into evans, could you explain? I'm very interested to hear about it

  • i ment to say J1 its an etched head, ment for jazz use,but its great for all types of music, and when tuned right it gives a very bright and punchy sound, the etched, means that it is between a coated head and a clear,so its barely dampend and you can still use brushes on it

  • i used the ec2 with contorl center but the plys seperated... you could feel the space between the plys..... switched to remo

  • Should have switched to Aquarian.

  • I used Evans Hydraulic for my old snare.
