  • i made 1 in woodshop XD

  • go big or go home...

  • Get a bigger one

  • 0:01

  • why couldnt i just buy an airsoft gun?

  • WHAT MATERIALS DID YU USE PLEASE I ONLY HAVE A WEEK BEFORE MY FRIGGIN PROJECT IS DUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

  • @Beardactal Ur brain is small enought to be the same as ur small dick

  • dude it sucks

  • a need 2 make a frikkin trebuchet for class its due monday and im confused o.o

  • this is my science fair project

  • correction itstead of just oil for counter wieght i though for a secong and though an oil drum works better

  • for anyone tht want's to "up" the design: you will need maple wood for a base and sides, duct tape,a oil to fill with sand/rocks for a counter weight, gorilla glue, nail gun,and a hook i'm tryin this see how it works

  • set the marshmallows on FIRE!!! :D

  • @rtschyberg Pyromaniac FTW!!! :D

  • Shouldve lit the marshmallow on fire...

  • I'm not planning on making a display Trebuchet to sit on my desk...

I want to make a REAL Trebuchet, big enough to throw a desk.

  • cool

  • has any one notaced that theirs a bag of candy on the table?

  • @him123456222 yeah #LOL

  • hmm this is quite fun i made one of those about 10 times bigger took a big rock and killed a squirll :D then i used a spear and got it stuck in a birds nest THIS IS AWSOME!!!

  • @bcchamp2009 did u use the same materials to make it that big?

  • @darkpord indeed ( yes )

  • I am so happy to know they let retards in the mental health facilities make "HOW TO" videos on you tube ;)

  • what if i just wanna but the push pin on a stick and stab people? that sounds more effective

  • how far does it shoot?

  • this is so cool. i am gonna enhance it by putting a frag grenade instead and see how far it goes.

  • @MrMem0rex i meant that in the manner that it literally desintegrated .035 seconds after it was created not to mention it was micro scopic and yet they caused a city-wide blackout why couldn't we keep it from desintegrating

  • @henzilla27 Just take them off . . . . . . . .

  • how the hell am i suppose to break down castle walls with that thing?!

  • table top trebuchets are for pussies ;D

  • @9groggy9

aw, I was just teasing! :)

    And being silly! :)

But to be honest, he didn't teach any physics principles while he was putting this together, he just gave instructions on how to put it together (even in principle). That's just mechanics, not science.

He could at least have demonstrated something like how a longer stick will make it go farther and mention the laws of physics that explain that.

  • @Skydancer365 well im not sure about that while its true for every action theirs an equal in oppisite RE-action (i.e. messing around with the arm length) i still dont know how hes supposed to explain stuff alot of us learned in middle school

  • Trebuchet's have very little to do with science. This is stupid! I'd much rather make silly putty! LOL!

  • @Skydancer365 Actually trebuchet's have much to do with science. Kinetic and potential energy are involved. So stop thinking with your little Chemistry brain and think some physics before you start critisizing.

  • @9groggy9 you know speaking of energy and physics you know how we can convert matter to energy well why cant we take raw energy and convert it to maytter i mean its been done before but the matter desintegrated almost instantly

  • soo bad....>;(

  • wow really a trebuchet woppty doo

i hate science why would they have

    a website on this crap!!!!

  • why look it up then?

  • @millersgauging why look it up idiot XD

  • if i started a medieval siege i wouldn't use hot glue guns or office staplers seriously what a waste I WANT MY 3 MINUTES 28 SECONDS BACK

  • me too!

  • Ok. So why do you need a lab coat? Street cred?

  • lol he would pick marshmallows as his ammo

  • okay guys... listen up

a trebuchet works by traction or counterweights, both employing a throwing arm on a pivoting axle with a short end where traction or counterweight is directed and a long end where the sling holds the projectile

a catapult works by tension, where both ends of the throwing arm on the pivoting arm are the same lengths with one end, where the "spoon cup" is, and another end which is held down with cord

if you still don't get it, try to do some research -_-

  • do you know the ratios and measurements by chance for scale? all i know that is 1700 pounds dropping 10ft will create 7100 pounds of force. but im wondering what will be easier to build an onager or treb...

  • masking tape, washers , glue gun, stapler and a push pin.

You can find all these items in any medieval store.

  • agreed mate

  • lol

  • catapult is a tension throwing machine versus a trebuchet is a weight driven throwing machine whether its weight is fixed or pivoting its right either way

  • lol god

  • DUDE, make a more realistic trebuchet.

I'm making a 12 inch tall trebuchet(arm inluded), made from barbecue sticks, toothpicks, and plaster of paris for counterweight.

There's an error in yours because the counterweight shouldn't be attached to the arm itself. mich more, MARSHMALLOWS? YOU USED MARSHMALLOWS FOR THE PROJECTILE? SHAME ON YOU.

  • how do you build it though like what are the measurements and stuff like that?

that kind of stuff is pretty important too

  • Trebuchet: uses wieghts

Catapult: does not bend a "spoon" it normally uses twisted ropes for torque on a axel connected to the spoon

  • lol i dought that anyone is going to use a mini marmellow, they probobally use a rock or something

  • @rulerman77 -i dont know,my vintage g-i-joes take over ANY small scale weapons left lying around!

  • no its not a catapult and a trebuchet are way diffferent things

  • fail fail fail. totally not true.... moron

  • shut up shut up shut up shut up!

u throw it on yur head!

  • THx veRy mUch!!

  • whats the difference between a trebuchet and a catapult

  • trebuchet uses weight and gravity to launch projectile

    but a catapult

it uses something elastic like a rubberband to swing the projectile

  • i don't think they had rubber bands in that time. They were using bull penis or tendonds.

  • that's why I say something elastic

the rubber band is an example only

    lol at bull penis :P

  • That`s bullshit. (ironic)

  • it's actually true, in medieval times they used bull/horse penis as a kind of rubber bands for catapults.

  • trebuchet-correct

    catupult- not really

  • like the vid said a trebuchet uses weights on an axel to launch an object. but in medevil times thay would take what would look like a spoon( the only way i can say it) and bend it backwards over another peice or wood and then when it was released the tension created from being forced back would launch the "spoon" back to the original shape and that would launch the projectile

  • Thats a catapult

  • nice how to video, but the trebuchet?

eh, i need one about 3 feet high

  • yaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • haha wen he was holding the weights at 2:06 was probably the best workout tht fat ass had in years after his imaginary wife dumped him

  • thats not even a trebuchet its like a trebupult (catapult and trebuchet)

  • lol i just built one about 5 feet tall with four 10-pound weights

  • this trebuchet stinks like ass

  • lol,ima try one of those

    but it might possibly pop

    when ur loading it on

  • i say use a marbel or some of those popper that yo uthrow on the ground

  • boo u suck

  • its a fucking three minute video for kids

  • a trebuchet doesnt necessaryly have to be a certain shape, as long as it works

  • i cant get the basket thing right.. its soo annoying, ive tried the tape thing but still doesnt work, any tips?

  • ya we're having the same problem...we fukin got it right...then we changed something and now it doesnt go at all..

  • i made a slightly bigger one for my science project last year, and when

i presented it to the class, i accidentally

hit some guy in my class in the eye

    with a pebble lolz

  • the Hervey the weight is the farther it will go?

  • Yes, the heavier the weight, the further it goes.

  • i feel so nerdy watching these

  • lol imma make one wit 2x4 and bungee cords

  • periodic table of the elements lol

  • i made one it gives me something to do :\

  • HD quality isnt up yet... :-(
