I remember breaking down and crying like a child when her character died in ballykissangel. I loved the pairing of the her and the priest. I was so looking forward to the relatioship developing, but alas, it was not to be. Still a very good actress nonetheless at least in the few acting roles I have seen her in here in the States.
I don't think she sounds American at all - I think because she is married to a British man she has lost her broader Irish edge - she does a lot of things with an English accent so think it's inevitable to start loosing it.
when working as a stage manager in london during the 90s i had the pleasure of working on one of her fringe shows at the Cockpit theatre in London. She became a good friend albeit for a short while. Discovered i was on my own one Xmas, gave me her phone number in Ireland and I rang her xmas day and talked to her and her sisters. Unfortunatley have lost touch. I cannot say how lovely this lady is in real life. Shes wonderfull.
I love Irish voices, but, they are the most unintelligible accents in the english language. She has a beautiful easy on the ears voice with a light euro accent.
Really? I think they're quite understandable, especially a Dublin accent like hers. Although in saying that I'm from Dublin as well, so I might be a bit biased.
her voice is like so....i dont know..sultry....lol..i know she does the M&S food adverts but ive never brought myself to listen to it because i probably couldnt handle the...uh..seductiveness..but if this is her voice talking casualy, those adverts must be one heck of an advert!
Do you mean the American accent that American's have? Or do you mean that she has an American accent? Some of the comments here suggest that she has one but I think it could not be more Irish.

Definitely the best Phoebe! Elizabeth Carling ruined the character :(
