  • What happened to Dick Taylor's beard?

  • @thesunbau SPAM!

  • i met Viv Prince (of the Pretty Things) in the Royal Hotel, New Plymouth, on their 1965 NZ Tour (with Sandi Shaw and Eden Kane). He gave me some tips on playing the drums and also his drumsticks. And what did I become - a drummer in a Highland Pipe Band!! Thanks for the tips. Paul

  • Mick Jagger on drums..

  • This is what rock n roll is supposed to be!. Rough, fun and non-commercialized.

  • This puts the stones in the shade..

not even the sex pistols had this much spunk..

  • Yeah!! This is really cool stuff.

    And.....the drummer....really really gooooooood.

By the mid 60s there were a lot of bands that were really great. I found by chance a totally unknown band on "The Tube" - THE ZETTLERS. Listen to their version of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Very good musicians and an incredible swing. Unbelievable!!!!

  • Smokin' madness!!! Amazing!

  • Should have been bigger than the Stones - the drugs controlled them and that was it.

  • Nice garage band sound.

  • Viv Prince was one of the most under appreciated, and one of the best rock drummers. Too bad his boozin' brought him down.

  • Get a hair cut sonny.

  • More than The Rolling Fab Four this was my fav band and this my all time fav song. I was a schoolboy then. I'm older and wiser now i hope. Still every time i push the repeat button i'm getting younger and younger again. What a way to remember. GREAT SONG. Thank you for posting.

  • are there any videos of Phil going wild onstage?

    They're still great btw

  • Absolutely great!

  • NEVER NIND THE PRETTY THINGS OR THE STONES !!!!!!!!! ARTHUR LEE AND LOVE WERE THE BEST 60S BAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beat Club had it all: Sexy hostess, great bands, and a captive crowd of shambling German zombies. What more could anyone ask for in a pop music show.

  • Those were the days that the Pretty Things were a great band !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jt123egypte The Pretties still ARE a great band!

  • @aniger33334 - I don't like to see 5 grandpa's who had to stop 20 years ago. But... I am a fan from the Pretty Things you see here. They were great and ,yes...I am indeed also a fossil of a certain age...

A great tune of the late divine Bo Diddley done so very fine by Phil and his boys.

  • @jt123egypte They are not really grandpas, and their music is still great. In their current line-up three band members are under 30! It's good that thay re-formed after their break-up.

  • I'm a fan of the Rolling Stones, but in the early sixties the Pretty Things were everything the Stones pretended to be. They were the REAL bad boys of rock!

  • This is from Beat Club, WDR German TV 16 April 1966. Also on the same show: "Midnight To Six Man" & "Rainin' in my heart", both found on Youtube.

  • The drummer here is Skip Allan

  • @debiedog1 so it is: skip alan.

but unforgetable the genius viv prince

  • backwards, marcel: Moon carefully studied PT drummer Viv Prince's wild man ways on and off stage before he joined The Who.

  • Outstanding!

  • Great! The drummer is clearly inspired by Keith Moon!

  • Oh yeah!!! Thats cool stuff. Where is the rest of this show?

  • .. I also look for it!! :(

  • @sinning1966.. Re: Pretty Things.

More shows like this one can be found

under ''Beat Club'', program which was

aired in Germany in the 60s...and 70 if

    I remember it right..

  • ..¡¡yeeeeeees!!

  • AWESOME I MEANT

  • ALL HAIL THE PRETTY THINGS

    AWESLOME
