i met Viv Prince (of the Pretty Things) in the Royal Hotel, New Plymouth, on their 1965 NZ Tour (with Sandi Shaw and Eden Kane). He gave me some tips on playing the drums and also his drumsticks. And what did I become - a drummer in a Highland Pipe Band!! Thanks for the tips. Paul
By the mid 60s there were a lot of bands that were really great. I found by chance a totally unknown band on "The Tube" - THE ZETTLERS. Listen to their version of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Very good musicians and an incredible swing. Unbelievable!!!!
More than The Rolling Fab Four this was my fav band and this my all time fav song. I was a schoolboy then. I'm older and wiser now i hope. Still every time i push the repeat button i'm getting younger and younger again. What a way to remember. GREAT SONG. Thank you for posting.

@aniger33334 - I don't like to see 5 grandpa's who had to stop 20 years ago. But... I am a fan from the Pretty Things you see here. They were great and ,yes...I am indeed also a fossil of a certain age...
A great tune of the late divine Bo Diddley done so very fine by Phil and his boys.
@jt123egypte They are not really grandpas, and their music is still great. In their current line-up three band members are under 30! It's good that thay re-formed after their break-up.
I'm a fan of the Rolling Stones, but in the early sixties the Pretty Things were everything the Stones pretended to be. They were the REAL bad boys of rock!
What happened to Dick Taylor's beard?

Should have been bigger than the Stones - the drugs controlled them and that was it.

Nice garage band sound.

Viv Prince was one of the most under appreciated, and one of the best rock drummers. Too bad his boozin' brought him down.

Beat Club had it all: Sexy hostess, great bands, and a captive crowd of shambling German zombies. What more could anyone ask for in a pop music show.
