Nice global track! But if you look closly you can see that the text is sliding (look at the line on the floor, the text is behind it at the beggin, but at the end it's in front). Try to set others "points" to make your axes for the floor. This problem is probably due at the fact that your "tracking floor" is down if we compare to the real one. You can also simply modify the Z position of your text in 3Ds max and make some try to get the best result :) nice work anyway and sry for bad english
At the start, the words are behind the crack, relative to the camera. At the end, the words are behind the crack, relative to the camera again. They should be in front of the crack.
@CRAZYcodfan6 Yes it is, although hundreds or maybe thousands of people download this program for free and the police or government or whatever doesn't have time to track every body down. If you want to be more safe than sorry I recommend voodoo which is free. It works just like boujou.
First track the footage in Boujou. Import that information (several tracking point and a camera) in to 3ds Max. Export the animation as a (for instance) png sequence. Import that sequence into after effects for post production such as color corrections and adding some (fake) motion blur and finally a little grain (to match the actual footage)
@handsfeetprod if u don't mind can you upload a tutorial video for that just i want to know what setting you have done.
cause, i tryed so many times to track the movie perfectly but it wouldn't , every times 3d object used to move with camera.......it doesn't remain in a statue position...........AND
I WOULD BE GREATFULL IF YOU WILL UPLOAD THE TUTORIAL VIDEO OF MOVIE TRACKING THAT YOU HAVE DONE.
i gonna wait for your reply with a tutorial video.
@handsfeetprod whenever i import my 3d models to after effect i get a black background around the object, how do i remove that? I export with alpha layer, tried tiff and png.
to everyone saying how the fuck the best tutorial is on video co-pilot.net, under part 1 of the meteor tutorial. it shows you how to motion track with boujou. if you can find that then i suggest giving up 3ds max.
Good work! You can see a little bit of parallax crawl as you pass by the CG text; it moves forward past the cracks in the pavers slowly as the camera passes. Looks like the ground plane was slightly off...
that's because of the lens distortion of the camera. if you track be sure to compensate lens distortion. then in your 3d application make your render as usual. the render is not distorted and that's why you have the parallax. back in boujou you can distort your render. there's an extra option for that so it distorts it according to your footage. the parallax should be gone.
@handsfeetprod hey, ive seen a tut in both C4D & 3ds max, and in 3ds max it seems everything is very complicated, and in c4d its super easy and done in no time, any thoughts?
Also where and how did you learn this, and do you know an effent method, cause all tuts ive seen on YT has been 3 parts, and seems like alot of BS compared to the C4D tut, were everything was super easy, some helps tips, advice, or leanks would be greatly appreciated :)
Ps. this looked great, make me want to do it myself
@leafblowinSK8 Cinema 4d is simple and easy to use, it has a great user friendly renderer, attribute editor and keying system, but for simplicity you lose in depth control, which makes 3ds max better if you're willing to put the effort in.
good track. but it's not perfect it slides on the ground a bit if you pay attention to the ground seam. at the beginning they are in front of the text and at the end they are behind it so the text moves forward.
i think it's not boujou's fault. maybe you have to adjust the camera settings in 3ds max. make sure the 3ds max camera has got the same settings for field of view and the lens as your real camera.
ok - make a camera track in boujou - export as camera solve.
Import this into 3ds max as a max script file. Use your background footage in max to setup your scene. Create your 3d image in scene. Add shadows. The camera movement created in boujou will move around the 3d object created in Max, just as if the 3d object was in the original background. footage. Save as a PNG file in max.
In After Effects - use this PNG image sequence to lay on top of the original background footage.
Thanx for your reaction. I don't if you heard of a site called 'videocopilot' but there are great after effects and 3ds max tutorials on there. You should probably check out all three parts of the 'meteor' tutorial. You won't regret it. That Anrew Kramer guy is a very good teacher! good luck on future projects.
Thanx for your reaction. I used a standard skylight in 3ds max and I turned down the 'rays per sample' to about 10 to save some rendr time. So it's realy not that complicated. good luck on your own projects!!!
ooh yeah, the text moved slightly in front of the pavement. very subtle error.takes 4-5 viewings to spot it.

how did you learn to do this. i have all of these programs but i cant find a tutorial on how to match move text
shazzbazz740 10 months ago
looks good, except the letters aren't tracked well enough, you can see the text move as you go around the text.
Ruffneck101 11 months ago
In my opinion shadows on letters is too dark...you can lighten that by decrasing contrast in ambient occlusion settings by around 15-20% .
