@BaumerPaulGefreiter MPs SHOULD have expertise, if they don't then you have someone with no knowledge whatsoever. A good example would be Churchill. He had previous war experience and that more than paid off in WWII. I'd rather have Bloom in charge of Finance, sat in Westminster than some spotty uni graduate who has never had a proper job.

I'm the Polish, currently working in UK. Watching all the Mr Bloom episodes on YT, and I have to say, looking at the whole picture from outside, I understand where is he coming from and his protectionism of independence from financial and banking institutions. I'm with him. But please don't point a finger into any nation. Is not us making political decisions. I bet every single country would like to protect their own interest. Divide and conquer is the rule of every single government.

@devudesigner I think he was merely pointing out the differences into how our market works in a completely different manner from the countries he mentioned (i.e. one's who rely largely on agriculture for their economy, rather than finance in e.g. the City of London). The majority of EU member 'states' do work in an entirely different way from Britain, and yet our laws and regulations are centered around their needs, which are very different from our own. So he has got the right to point fingers.

I come from one of the countries Mr. Bloom so kindly singled out in his speech, but I agree with his main point nevertheless.

This is one of the major downfalls of democracy - decisions are made by people who are the most popular, and not by the ones actually best qualified to make them. National elections are just a slightly more sophisticated X Factor these days...
