Perhaps there is a cultural context. Many aspects of Arab culture - particularly as regards the standing of women in society - are very old.. bordering on archaic. A popular and brutal tactic was to castrate the males so that they could guard the Harem- a brothel of the Arabs where African women were kept as sex slaves. Who supplied the white man with African slaves when the whites needed people to work the lands of the new world? Muslims!

It is therefore pretty ironic that Blacks convert to Islam the religion which began the process of enslavement of the Africans in the first place!!!
