We cannot afford to have the federal gov't spend YET MORE of healthcare dollars and add to the deficit. We cannot afford to have them override the states and tell them what to do yet again in a field as big as healthcare. There's a reason we are a federalist system. If the Democrats want a unitary system, pass an amendment! See if it gets 3/4ths of state approval! I'm sick of the left treating America like a unitary state and acting like states have no importance. It's outlandish.
In order to truly empower the people, we need to decentralize and let states and localities make these big healthcare decisions. We don't need the FEDERAL gov't making all these decisions and mandating for the entire healthcare market. Each state and its people should decide what's best for them. If they want coops, have at it. If they want a statewide public option, fine. But for federal legislators to be so arrogant as to think they know what the entire country needs is foolish.
I can't stand when lefties associate "the people" with the government. "The people" want this or "give power to the people" when they ask for MORE spending on ridiculous entitlements or more programs. But I don't fall for that crap. Consumers, not gov't and not insurers, should be empowered. There are limitless ways we can do that, but a public option is not one of them. Government doesn't need to be in the insurance business, not to mention that it's UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
No, Dean. Don't play that doublespeak with me. It's whether you're for the insurance co's or for more gov't. And as a libertarian, I'm for NEITHER! I want LESS gov't and more competition. How? By getting rid of cost-expansive regulations and mandates that end up hurting consumers in the long-run. Bureaucrats 9 times out of 10 don't know economics or proper policy, and thus, out of the goodness of their hearts, they screw over consumers with bad policies! It's the same with this bill.
Netroots Nation is a silly term for this conference. Might as well just go back to Yearly Kos. I mean, that sounded a lot better. Netroots is just some dumbass term for the Left's blogosphere that they think has "TONS" of real power, when in fact they have little. Few people outside of the media give 2 shits what Markos Moulitsas thinks. And few people besides O'Reilly care about the "vile postings" on that site.
Should have been Dr. Dean in 2004. Vermont is the only state in the union that isn't bound by it's Contitution to have a balanced budget. But he balanced it anyway. He was considered too pro-business by the left but while helping businesses and balancing the budget he still managed to fund health care for many Vermont citizens including everyone under 18. We's be in a lot better shape if the DLC hadn't screwed him out of the nomination in 2004.
I AM SORRY WERE DID THIS MONKEY FOOL GET HIS PHD from?
thats right he never earned one, he was given one as a gift. fucking bull shit. wait a minute.....wait just one minute......did he just try to tell us what we need? "if anyone is serious about real choice for the american people" AND THIS FOOL was in the controlled election for Hussien and his victory.
it was him or this freak of nature dean, YEA REAL CHOICE there. It was a controlled election and this FOOL is NO DOCTOR!

He's a Medical Doctor dickhead. He's a real Dr.--not one of those PhD assholes who insists on being called Dr. because he's got a PhD in philosphy.

He's an M.D. and was in private practice before he entered public service, so I'd say he's deserving of the title.
