But every time I watch nature on Lions and Tigers I see a lot idiots making comments on Lion vids and they post stupid edited vids that show Tigers having an over Lions for a few seconds and they repeat that over and over again for like 5 mins.

@Naturalhit Lion fans do the same thing, make Lion videos claiming that the Lions are "destroying" or "pwning" the Tigers. It isn't only the Tiger fans that do this and Dave Salmoni seems like a nice guy and all but of all the "experts" on the subject, I wouldn't quite buy into his opinions too much. Especially since I've heard MANY times that alot of experts believe Tigers would win a fight against a Lion. Although I don't really agree, I feel it depends on the cat and that either could win.

@ThaOneChrisJONES There's far more tigerfans here in Utube. If you watch Lionfans video they show you the whole clip and not short few seconds edited clips that's played over & over again for 5 mins. Dave Salmoni worked with both Lions and Tigers. He did more Tiger documentary than Lions plus he raised them both in his zoo in Canada. His expert opinion is far more valuable than any expert out there. Also look at Clyde Beatty. He has over 50 big cats in his collection and he said Lions are King

@Naturalhit Well for me I see way more Lion fans Tiger bashing. And captive animals are different from the ones who grow up in the wild so I don't use zoo animals in the equation. And even then, I've seen many videos of Tigers getting the better of a Lion in a fight ( the only thing stopping the Lion from dieing being it's mane ).

@ThaOneChrisJONES To me it's more obvious that I see more Tigerfans than Lionfans. There's only 3 members who posts on Lions side while there are 14 on the Tiger side. Take a look for yourself and count them. I agree with you on captive animals being different than wild ones. Wild ones would be more furious. This would be more on the Lions advantage because their environment in Africa is far more cruel than the ones in Asia and Russia. On the mane, Salmoni once said that's their shield.

@Naturalhit It's true that the Lion's habitat is more tough but habitat doesn't affect the intensity with which you fight when your trying to survive. That would be like saying someone from the ghetto would always beat someone from uptown but toughness comes from many places. I don't think habitats would affect the outcome of a fight between a Lion and Tiger, once again it would depend on each animal's will to survive.

I'm sure you'll agree that Lions encounter more hostility than Tigers do in the wild: For one thing they not only have to fight for their territory, but they also have to fight for their pride and for their cubs. A strong nomadic young Lion that oust the patriach would kill its cubs and dominate its females. This also spells early death to the former patriach because Lions are not good hunters. Tigers would avoid conflict if necessary because they can't risk getting injured continue..

@ThaOneChrisJONES continue... when Tigers get injured from a fight that spell starvation for them. They rely on stealth and their strength to overcome their prey. That's why when you see Tigers fight it's often time just a srimmage of paw swipes. Tigress with cubs on the other hand will fight to the death against a male because males will kill their cubs in order for Tigress to go into eustrus. Male Lions can risk injuries because Lioness will take care of them.

Tigers were born hunters because of their stripes and long body tht make them strong and fast... up to 60mph. Any ... Just enjoy them while we still have them.

@Naturalhit I try not to get caught up in this ridiculous debate but it's hard to see one getting bashed sometimes. I feel that both the Lion AND Tiger deserve an equal amount of respect. And I'll just say this, people always say that Lions were born to fight as if Tigers don't grow up fighting too. Tigers aren't merely hunters, Tigresses must protect their cubs on their own while Lionesses have the support of a Pride, territorial Tiger fights often end in death, while Lion fights rarely do.

No, I'm sorry sting I watched a video "Lion Vs. Tiger" and the male lion won why? Because the mane of the lion was to thick, so the tiger just kept getting the lions mane instead of its wind pipe, and the the lion dominated the tiger and the tiger assumed the defeated position.I'm not saying this will happen in all cases but the lion defeated the tiger so, the lion still holds its crown over the tiger.
