  • I watched this several times and the pain in Joaquin's voice still haunts me.

  • william ritchard actor ( bob in my own private idaho) director and friend . anyway rip god see you u soon i hope fellow vegan and activist and sylicone if i find u il kill u

  • Im crying .

  • poor riv. what a tragic waste. dont take drugs.

  • 1 thing they don't mention here is that River had a family history of substance abuse. His grandfather (John's dad) started drinking heavily after his wife was brain-damaged in an accident; John sometimes showed up drunk on River's movie sets. Both River's parents used drugs when he was little. This is why people who have addiction in the family are well-advised to not use drugs or alcohol at all; it's a big risk. Congrats to Joaquin for going to rehab in 2005 & trying to deal with the problem.

  • Tragic.. truly tragic.. Rest in peace River Phoenix. 18 years now.

  • I can't imagine what it was like for Joaquin and his sister to watch him die. Such a loss. D:

  • I hear a profanity-laced 911 call that breaks my heart. If it were my brother, I would call 911 and be praying to the Almighty to save him from death. I know a lot of people would disagree with me saying what is the difference, prayer or profanity? But that's what the Pheoenix's grew up with. God bless them!

  • @mycorolla07 You wouldn't have time to pray if you were in that situation!

  • You're an idiot. First of all do you honestly think not using profanity would somehow have sent god down from the heavens and had him personally revive River? What kind of god is that? Second, when your brother is dying right before your eyes of a horrible, painful and traumatizing death do you honestly think you would give a clean, scripted speech while calling 911?

  • @Gmancrap Well, cussing is not in my habitual vocabulary, so at least my description of a loved one dying would not be profanity-laced and I would be praying at the same time. And that makes me an "idiot?"

  • RIP River.

  • I've had ppl overdose in my company before and believe me nothing straightens you up quicker than having to deal with someone that's dying on you. People that do this are selfish greedy people and usually with far too much money for their own good. These people don't care about anyone other than themselves and I don't know which infuriates me more the ppl that od amongst ppl or the ppl that say oh how sad RIP blah blah blah.. SELFISH SELFISH SELFISH!!!!

  • @newworldodour how was he greedy..he didnt take an overdose on purpose..how many more comments are you going to leave on this page about people who overdose been greedy..it was an accident for fuck sake..its like saying people who love cars and buy a real fast 1 and crash and die are greedy and selfish..your talking shit man

  • @devilrobbie25 I think it is you that is talking shit, it's nothing like a car accident, the very fact that he purchased and took such a large amount proves he was a greedy fucker! just listen to Joaquin Phoenix 911 phonecall and tell me the person that puts his own brother through such a traumatic experience isn't selfish. this also proves he is a selfish and inconsiderate bastard. Only a complete moron would compare a drug overdose to a car accident!! I'll keep leaving responses to educate ppl

  • @devilrobbie25 P.S. the comment i left below is also a quote from River which also illustrates the devious lying nature that most but not all junkies adopt. People should take more responsibility when it comes to recreational drug use, when it comes to taking class A drugs there's no such thing as an accident just stupidity unless it's intentional of course.

  • @newworldodour ya thats easy to say..but if your addicted then it makes it a lot harder to take the drug in small amounts..i have had my problems with alcohol and its not easy to just try and be carefull..it takes over your life and ruins your life which in turn makes you want to have more to forget your troubles..i just dont think its nice for you to say addicts are greedy and selfish..its a disease..

  • @devilrobbie25 I am a heroin addict and from my personal experience what you say about taking small amounts is true but it also means that if your body is used to taking large amounts then its a lot harder to overdose, its not a disease its a choice thats utter bullshit! Phoenix's drug taking was described as on and off so i doubt he would have had a large tolerance. I'm only going from my own personal experiences with junkies it might not be nice but its true most are greedy and selfish

  • @newworldodour Trouble is I think people take the the wrong route explaining addiciton. Its all very well to say 'Its a disease', a phrase coined because people were trying to make the treatment of recovering addicts a more sympathetic and relatable thing other than 'they were just selfish'. I think thats too simplistic an interpretation. You know selfish junkies because their need makes them selfish. What gave them that need? Just life and some people don't have the reserves to deal with it.

  • @BelatedCommiseration that is not why it was declared a "disease" in order for something to be a disease it has to have certain things wich chemical dependency has

    1. the illness can be described

2.the course of the illness is predictable and progressive

3.the disease is primary wich means it is not just a symptom of some other underlying disorder.

4.it is permanent. it can be arrested and you can recover but its always there

5.it is terminal,if left untreated it will result in premature death

  • @BelatedCommiseration that is not why it was declared a "disease" in order for something to be a disease it has to have certain things wich chemical dependency has

  • @SheenaAlexis You are ignoring the societal implications associated with drug and alcohol addiction. There is, and always has been, a stigma attached to addiction of this nature. People blame the person themselves as being selfish. That is not helpful. But nor is calling it a 'disease' per say and allowing people to delude themselves into helplessness. You may technically describe something as a disease, but addiction is a disease that can only be fought with your will and not a prescription.

  • he always insisted that he believed in clean living: “I don’t see any point or any good in drugs that are as disruptive as cocaine. I never tried heroin. I tried alcohol and most of the others when I was 15, and got it out of the way—finished with the stuff.” OMG the guy was so full of shit and most ppl believe it

  • @SupportlivemusicNC there's only one asshole and that's the ego maniac that threw his toys out of the pram when he was told he couldn't play. I have no sympathy for Phoenix whatsoever or for any junky that overdoses around other ppl or on their property, if you're gonna be totally selfish and take that much dope at least do it in your own place on your own and not leave ppl around you feeling responsible for thee rest of their lives questioning if they could have done something SELFISH PRICK!

  • Five minutes? What is wrong with these people? His brother probably did not even know what happened to him and then suddenly he saw people surrounding his collapsed brother. Poor River. May you RIP.

  • DONT get high on DRUGS......get HIGH on LIFE.

    RIP River.

  • The Phoenix clan and his hip friends, anti main-stream but needing it when he overdoses, another irony.

  • Wasn't Matt Ebert one of River's lovers?

His story has sooo much irony it's unbelieveable.

  • It must have hurt Joaquin to play the role of Johnny Cash in Walk The Line,a movie in which Cash's brother also dies....that must have been a hard part for him to act.

  • @dutchy1176 Actually Joaquin was quite offended when people thought he was drawing from his own life experience for that role. He said it was sick for people to think that and it made his hard work and research useless. I know it's just acting, but I don't know how he could NOT think of River during that movie.

  • River fans aint got to lie to noone.River was and always will be the most talented man in the world.

  • Rest in peace River. You were special.

  • @treyprice420

Excuse me, mr price, but you say flea was "not nowhere to be found"... According to many biographies, Flea was there and apparently went in the ambulance with River? I may be wrong... But you're still so full of shit.

  • I almost cried when i heard joaquins phone call :( he sounds so devastated and with good reason. R.I.P River xx

  • Goosebumps.

  • that was the scariest phonecall i've ever heard.

  • RIP River

  • If River was here today, I can almost promise you that he would be one of the best, And bigger than anyone today. RIP River Jude. <3 ily.

  • The 911 call is so sad, His voice is heartbreaking, I love Joaquin Phoenix and when I heard his voice my heart broke.

  • I feel for everyone in his family. I just wish their was somthing i could do! Joaquin, rain and Samantha have it worse because they were there when it happened...its a trajedy <3 Rio

  • 23, he was still a baby. He had so much more life to live. May he Rest In Peace. He'll never be forgotten.

  • Rest In Peace, man.

  • terible

  • this was soo sad. i love River Phoenix!!!! <3

  • Sooo River was doing a bunch of drugs while his two younger siblings were present...?

  • Samantha should be ashamed of not getting river the medical attention he desperatley needed. Instead she ran down the street..... i read she showed up at the hosptial when he died and demanded to see his body.. WHO THE FUCK DOES SHE THINK SHE IS??? SICK!!! Have you seen her lately... she is age 36 and looks in her forties... not a pretty sight. i guess what comes around goes around. shes in no movies anymore.. she is an unheard of.River will always be loved... samantha wont

  • @yourboyrayray....u got any other explantion? seems to make sense if u put all the puzzle pieces together were was flea while river was in the bathroom at the viper? sure as fuck wasnt on stage yet

  • 4:50

    That is intense.

  • i really believe flea is the one that gave river the drugs...come on now ppl, everyone knows every member of the rhcp were junkies at the time, river, flea, and anthony hung out all the time, u trying to tell me all they did was smoke pot? impossible for a junkie they always wanna share there drug of choice with the world to support there habit

  • @treyprice420 Dude i dont know where to begin with your comment. Do some research before you slander someones name to that magnitude. Your a complete moron and that is being nice... By this time Anthony Kiedis was clean and flea only experimented with heroin in the mid 80s. I cant believe there are people out there who are this stupid. I hope karma puts a serious dent in your life for making such a dumb comment. Please dont speak w out knowing the facts man you re just making yourself look bad..

  • @bmillerdrums im a complete moron huh? i was at the viper room the night this shit happend....FLEA was not no where to be found till after river was being taken outside....and if anthony and flea just tried it in the 80's then why where both in and out of rehab all throught the 90's and early 2000's??? sounds like u dont know any fucking thing about this and you werent there either where so before u call someone a moron and stupid becuase im makeing a point then sounds like u are a junkie

  • @treyprice420 First off... You re a fucking liar so any point you try to make is moot. You say " i was there when this shit happened" you re fucking 26 bro you were at the viper room at age 8 huh? plus being from alabama i would say that means ur even more full of shit so there is no need to argue w you about this. You have a conspiracy theory about a situation you have no clue about dude. And no im not a junkie either i just happen to love river as an artist and i also love the chili peppers.

  • @treyprice420 HAHA U GOT CAUGHT IN A LIE HUH?!! u aint gotta lie to kick it pussyboy, everybody sees the bitch in u so stop acting like u know stuff....fake ass lying faggot HAHA!!!!!

  • I wasn't even born when he was alive, but I miss him like I was born when he was alive. He is truly the best actor on this planet. He was so amazing and it hard to find people like him these days. My favorite actor ever, an inspiration.

RIP River Phoenix<3 You will always be remembered, I will love and remember you till the day I die<3

  • @TheJadeClarke

i wasnt born while he lived either, i love him because of stand by me. the hottest teenager/man/actor ever!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • I don't know if anyone else has noticed but Joaquin has never been the same since that night. He was extremely close to his brother considering they were the only boys in the family and his death really hit him hard. RIP River and praying for you Joaquin

  • I can't even believe that 911 tape of joaquin was released. it's horrible.

  • @TheEvilelvis89

    I'm also disgusted...

  • he was actually murdered. fake ass overdose. same shit with michael. you speak out against the system you die by it. truly sad shitty police state we live in.

  • @inad316 dont be stupid. He died because he made a mistake not because of some ridiculous conspiracy.

  • @bantermelon man I don't know about that, but what I know is that he would have got killed anyway.it's like in that sain' "you wanna be a wise man and speak the truth you have to make your self crazy first"

  • Wouldn't Joaquin have had to give permission to show his call? Just asking since everyone makes it sound like the film makers just took it. Maybe he just wanted people to know about his brother and help spread a message of not to mix drugs.

  • Thank u so much for uploading this documentary. It was very concise yet powerful. I will never forget River. I will never get over his death for as long as I live. It has become a very personal thing for me, something I don't quite understand even after all this time. Thank u again.

  • It was not Johnny who made the call that night for River not to Play it was fucking Flea!!!I just read somewhere he told River that it was too many people on stage and then River got upset and that is when he went to go look for drugs which sealed his fate.Dammit flea couldn't they have found a space for him somewhere???Shit stick him in a corner or something at least he would have been alive.River was too damn gorgeous to be dead I can not believe the nerve of those people I'm sick ugghhhh!!

  • @SupportlivemusicNC It "seems" to you? On what do you make this assumption? Were you there? You have no way of knowing who made the decision and yet you are calling Depp an asshole?

  • that was really, truly hard to watch.

  • I hate how this documentary tries to sex up his death; the music, the acting, the 24 type clock in the corner...but he was a fascinating young man so I watched it all. What saddens me most is how hard this must have been on Flea and Rain and Joaquin. I am not impressed by the rest of his family and alleged friends :-/

  • At 4:14 look at how loving he is with the dog. That's what this world- more people with big hearts who are not afraid to be compassionate and empathic. What a loss.

  • @Zain844 No see you got it all wrong River did cherish life but he was a very shy and sensitive person and did not know how to deal with life in general which led him to drugs. He also had a lot of pressure on him I think he was the breadwinner for his whole family at the time. And I don't know how much money he really had I mean some actors make more than others and I'm not sure how much actors were getting paid back then.I mean I'm sure he was doing well but I don't know if he was filthy rich.

  • if he loved and cherished life so much why did he take fucking drugs?

He made his choice no one put a gun to his head and forced him to take a speedball. I have no sympathy for druggies who have too much money.

and he wasn't a kid he was 23.

play with fire and you're gonna get burned.

  • @Zain844 He took drugs because of the stress of being famous. He hated that so much attention was focused on him and not on humanitrian movements. Keep in mind he was a vegan. Also he's not the only famous person who found it tough to handle the stress of hollywood and it's how he couped with it obviously not the best thing but still. So don't make such broad statements without knowing much you idiot actually think

  • @KDude44444 There are plenty of people who are just as stressed as he is and they didnt take drugs or destroy themselves.

In the end he was responsible for what happened to him HE ALONE.

  • @Zain844 I agree plenty of people have stress and you are right about it being his fault, but he has a stress diffrent from anyone one else in being that he cannot live his life without the media in his face alot of the time and also that if he makes a big mistake it could potenially end his acting career which would have been terrible for his family that lived in poverty for a long time until he and his siblings went into acting.

  • omg i am so apaul rites now!! dis been sum hord feetage to get thru i am in tears rite now!! idk how dey had get da rare feetage of riva deaf but whoeva film it is a dum ass trick nasty bitch!! it was prolly his murdara jon frusanta tryna make mo money off his so call frand deaf!! an riva look so diferant tho i had almost not recognize him it muz be da drugs takin a roll on his looks or sumthin!! neways im depress now an bouts to eat da tom an jerry icecream!

  • no one calls for an ambulance for 5 minutes?! oh my gosh...smh -_- that 911 call was very disturbing

  • @kutchieMik Yes I agree, they should have called 911 the moment they realized something was wrong. I wonder if they thought, that's River Pheonix, he'll be alright. His celebrity status may have kept him from getting the urgent help he needed...but, if it was a Mr. Joe Nobody going through the same thing, would the reaction and action been any quicker?

  • @mycorolla07 i think it applies to everybody whether you're a celebrity or not. you should look up the genovese syndrome and it's exactly the same case w/ the people not responding quickly to an emergency.

  • Omg, that 911 call ....

  • I wish Flea would've let River jam with him that night. He might still be alive. He could've been another "DiCaprio".

  • @ReeseMac actually.. where would DiCaprio be? Since Dicaprio technically landed his parts in 'The Basketball Diaries', 'Total Eclipse' and 'The Man In The Iron Mask' by default. That's most of the guys early career that he built himself on. Would he have had a chance to progress as fast and as far as he did in the 90's if Phoenix had lived? hmm.

  • @YTmod29 I think DiCaprio would've. The year River died DiCaprio was just starting to get critical acclaim for "Boys Life" and "Gilbert Grape". I think they would've co-existed in Hollywood just like Hoffman , DeNiro , Nicholson, and Pacino did back in the 1970's....and who knows? Maybe a cleaned-up River would've beat out DiCaprio for certain roles DiCaprio played. Maybe not. Thats VERY hard to say.

  • @ReeseMac VERY hard to say, but good point by you none the less.

  • If River wasn't a celebrity, nobody would be assuming that every little thing Joaquin does is because of his brothers death. Just because River was famous, doesn't mean his death was anymore 'special' than a normal person who lost a brother. It is sick how distorted people's views are. Joaquin goes to rehab, you bring up River. Joaquin has a fake meltdown, you bring up River. Joaquin "seems depressed", you bring up River. Every fucking thing the man does you fans somehow relate back to River.

  • To know he had an hour to be saved is just so sad. All these people knew he didn't look ok and yet didn't do anything. Poor Joaquin, I'm sure he hasn't been the same since then.

  • for fuck sake, putting joaquins call on that is uncalled for, poor kid.

just wrong, media is getting worse... sometimes things should just be left out

  • This is so sad it breaks my heart to know if someone could have got River to a hospital right away he may have lived. The saddest thing in life is a waste of talent he was so beautiful.I love River and his brother Joaquin they are the best!!

  • @nightriver99

That's right. So many ppl around and not one got it into their heads to call 911 early. Too much partying, too much dope....

  • That's really rough man I would never be able to do that. R.I.P River you were awesome!

  • an people who give joaquin shit for the way he acted on lettermen watch ur older brother die infront of u then hear about it wherever u go an see if u can hold it together

  • @ncs1988 I agree, how bad must it have been for him watching his brother die.

  • @ncs1988 Shut the fuck up THIS HAPPENED 16 YEARS AGO!! Do you know how many fucking people lose loved ones EVERY DAY? Quit making him out to be he mourning brother when it happened 16 FUCKING YEARS AGO!!! He is OVER IT YOU MORON. You get over it. No one hangs their head over a siblings death that occured almost 2 decades ago. And you're an idiot to think that is the case

  • @Hotice770 that was the dumbest shit. you're and idiot.

  • @nameunknown7 youre the only fucking idiot here who thinks joaquin is still crying himself to sleep at night over his brother death that occurred 16 fucking years ago. people fucking die every day you dumbass. would you expect a NORMAL person to be out of their mind because of their siblings death that occurred almost 2 DECADES AGO? no yo wouldn't. he is no different than a normal person who loses a family member. get the fuck over it

  • @Hotice770 Actually, i don't have any opinion about whether or not joaquin is "still crying himself to sleep at night:". But i am intelligent enough to know that it is definitely possible. You obviously are not that intelligent. My mom, who is 43 and has PTSD, still wakes up in the night crying out from nightmares about her father who died when she was only a little younger the joaquin was when river died. It is indeed possible, dumbshit.

  • @nameunknown7 Bottom line is, ppl need to stop acting like River's death is to blame for Joaquins behavior decades later. Lets go look up all the shit load of celebs who had a family member die. There are MILLIONS. The only reason ppl still bring up River is because he happened to be famous when he died. So that somehow means Joaquin was more affected by his death than those who lost an non famous relative? No.

  • @Hotice770 Actually, the bottom line is that his behavior very possibly could be because of his brothers death. I'm not trying to advocate for the fact that it is the reason for his actions, I'm merely trying to point out that you saying it isn't possible or comparing his situation to someone elses is not valid. Everyone is affected differently by things. You may lose you're brother and be able to move on in a year or so, but someone else could take decades, or may not ever be able to move on.

  • @nameunknown7 You only assume River is the cause because you KNOW River since he was famous. You would not be thinking that way otherwise. There are BILLIONS of things about Joaquin's life that you don't know, and never will. So stop acting like River is the cause of shit just because its the only thing you're aware of. And again I say, JOAQUIN SAID HIMSELF he hated how the media constantly acts like he is a mourning brother forever because it's false. Yet you continue to believe otherwise

  • @Hotice770 You are an idiot. I have already stated that I DO NOT PERSONALY BELIEVE THAT RIVER IS THE CAUSE. In fact i hardly know anything about the situation. Before i saw this video i had barely heard of River Phoenix. And just because Jouquin said that doesn't make it the truth. Maybe he just didn't realize it was making him act out on a sub-conscious level. Or maybe he just didn't feel like hearing about his brother in the media again, and so he tried to stop it.

  • @nameunknown7 HAHA Yes you ARE saying thats the reason you dumbass!! Even when HE FUCKING SAID IT WASN'T HIMSELF, YOU ARE STILL SAYING IT COULD BE "ON A SUB-CONSCIOUS LEVEL". You're fucking bullshit. He denies it and you still think it's possible. You're a fucking retard.

  • @Hotice770 Haha, having a conversation with you is making my IQ drop with every other comment i read of yours. Unless Joaquin has been to college for psychology, or has seen a psychologist that has told him that it has nothing to do with his brother, then he CANNOT know that it doesn't. Do not flatter yourself by calling ME a retard.

  • @nameunknown7 Yeah you're right. You know so much more than Joaquin himself. So do all the fans who diagnose him with shit based on what they read in tabloids

  • Dude.Joaquin would have been affected PRIMARILY because he directly observed his older brother dying a horrific, violent death.

Aftermath? A worldwide 911call replay, hounded by press, press attacks on his parents, articals on how River deserved it, radio talk shows laughing at his grief, a friend snaps River dead in his coffin and sells to a global magazine- who? who knows. millions of folks do lose family. Very few have to star and be judged in a circus. doubtful that it didnt leave a mark.

  • @YTmod29 Yeah and millions of people watch their family members die of an illness in their hospital beds, or in a car reck that they survived etc. It is no different. 16 years is a long fucking time, and is people think he is still so broken up about it, they're idiots. The more time that goes by after a death, the easier it becomes.

  • @Hotice770 my comment was more in regards to you saying Joaquins recent behaviour is nothing to do with rivers death. I dont believe his death itself plagues him every day of his life. I meant the aftermath of the death. its been obvious that Joaquin has an intense dislike for the media and working with them, and that his recent efforts may be the result of bitterness hes harboured since they tore his brother and family to shreds- that hes used them and fucked with them like they did him.

  • @nameunknown7 isn't he tho?! what a piece of shit!

  • @mustang1984 eh, people like that drain the intelligence out of the people who read their ignorant posts.

  • @nameunknown7 indeed. its really sad how clueless some people really are.

  • @mustang1984 The only clueless people are the people who still blame Joaquin's beahvior on his brothers death. You think because he is a celebrity, that it somehow effected him more than it would anyone else who lost a sibling. It's idiot. Joaquin HIMSELF said he hates how people portray him as 'the mourning brother" because he isn't. It is pathetic that his brother who died 16 years ago is still being brought up today every time he is mentioned

  • @Hotice770 i never blamed his behavior on his brothers death. being a celebrity has nothing to do with how it affects him. the fact that he was there, however, does.

  • @ncs1988 i agree as well. u NEVER get over something like that! things may get better or even a little easier but theres NO AMOUNT OF TIME that will make it go away!

  • @mustang1984 You're a dumbass. I never said that you would stop caring about a dead loved one, but you MOVE ON. My best friend since childhood died 3 years ago. It sucks, it was horrible, but I am not still crying my eyes out over it. If you think otherwise then you havent experienced a death. You actually think Joaquin is still all broken up over something that happened when he was 19 year s old and it's pathetic. Even JOAQUIN said so himself. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot

  • @Hotice770 actually YOU are the dumbass! u can still mourn the death of someone without crying ur eyes out. and i know FAR MORE about death than u ever will!

  • when he dead he has a shorth and black hair no bloond and long...

  • @rafaelmiqui He had black hair because he was taping Dark Blood.. His mom cut his hair for the funeral and put it next to him in his coffin..

  • so sad...Long Live RIO

  • so sad...Long Live RIO!

  • I am seventeen years old and River has affected my life in so many ways and despite not knowing him I know he is the greatest actor that ever lived and it is so sad and gut-wrenching to see nowadays that not many people know him or realize who he was. But there are a select few that have him in their hearts, myself included.

    RIP River.

  • that young man would go on to be in the johnny cash movie ..

what's sad ..what's real sad is people take advantage of joaquin .. they expect him to act like a normal person even though he watched his brother die and had a seriously messed up life ..

  • I cry every time when i see this video.

    I Love You River<3

    R.I.P <3

  • and no doubt someone made money off of this tragedy by making this episode... it's distgusting and its the kind of thing River despised about the tv industry.

  • Who is this girl by river? with brown hair

  • @SooConnor Thats rivers sister.

  • Rest in peace, see kids drugs are noo good for you stop using them.

  • and you can see why joaquiin is so weird, i think being a brother who was so close to him it would have affected him the most. It's probably why he wanted to retire from acting also. Well aside from the hip hop career.

  • i often wonder what the acting world would be like had he lived, and now a fellow 80's star is dead via the same way, rip corey and rive.r

  • So upsetting especially listening to the 911 call why do they have to realize that? its no ones business poor Joaquin and his sister

  • @000duchess000

That 911 call is gut wrenching. You can just hear the terror and worry in Juoaquin's voice.

  • Really missed... forever... =~/

  • This is so fucking hard to watch. I miss you, River Jude. Dx

  • God bless him

  • The man was in pain and under a lot of pressure and sense of responsibility. Say all you want about his stupid choices to overdose, but who the fuck knows what kind of weird sexual abuse that 'church of god" cult put him through.

  • errr...you have no KIND of proof for that insinuation you just made, you realize that?

  • The "Church of God" abuses are well documented by many ex-members and it's very plausible that River was one their victim. Do your own research. Don't take my word for it.

  • @sk9utube

youre right. the boy who was said to be the "chosen one" or something like that ended up going to find his mother and kill her them himself when he was like 22 . She allowed and participated in his sexual abuse within the "Church of God". When he got to her house she wasn't there so he killed his moms room mate instead before killing himself. He documented the weeks of insanity prior to commiting the murder/suicide on video Its fucked up shit.

  • this is so sad :'(

rest in peace river, you were stunning and had endless talent.

  • I hate the fact that these celebrity 911 tapes get released and spread to each TV set.

  • @Jesse93z I agree. 911 calls are private. What is said is none of our business. And it doesn't become our business just because we THINK we 'know' the person calling and/or the person being called for.

  • @Jesse93z Those tapes do need to be released. It would be good for the young generation to hear these tapes, as it may teach a lesson, that young people, including celebrities do die, and we are are not immortal. It may help some people think twice before taking risks with drugs, fast driving, or whatever dangerous activities one would think of engaging in.

  • @mycorolla07 I'm not going to dignify that statement with a response.

  • @Jesse93z Don't want to dignify what statement? That young people need to be warned of the dangers of drugs? Young people need to be aware of the real-life tragedies, and witnessing real footage is very compelling, and it would probably make them think twice before engaging in dangerous activities.

  • @mycorolla07 Jesus Christ no one gives a shit!

  • @Jesse93z No one gives a shit? I would hate to depend on you in life and death situation!

  • @mycorolla07 Shut the fuck up.

  • Stuff like this makes me wonder why these people why did they have to die man Im fucking crying right now cus to me it isn't fair

  • RIP River Phoenix. You are not forgotten...

  • Such a tragic loss and a waste of great talent.

It's just ashame how such a fatal event could've been prevented so easily.

I know all too well about addiction and it's a very hard thing to overcome for some of us.

  • @newfful Could have been prevented so easily? How so? I know what drugs are like just as well, probably more so than you, and this kid was most likely doing dope all day, all night, mixing and matching shit uppers and downers, and the human heart can't take it especially if are doing the kind of strong pure shit that goes around the Hollywood night clubs. Don't be self righteous, you don't know

  • River is the one who kept himself from getting what he needed Mr. Richert.

River should have got help, people did offer but .............

  • wow, some people really lack compassion. or maybe he just worships tony clifton. andy kaufman (who created the clifton charactor) was outrageous, but he was not an asshole.

  • I'm crying so much :'(

  • Your comment to me was deleted. The comment was: "Have you ever been to the sidewalk where he died? If not you truly shouldn't talk about people not meeting him. When you go there you can feel his presence."

...Oookay, I see we have left the brink of sanity and taken a stroll over to Flip City. It seems strange to even dignify that with a response, but still, some people need to learn. Would you claim to KNOW River personally because you went to the sidewalk where he died? *Continued*

  • I don't even feel that I need to say more than that. The ignorance of that comment speaks for itself. Yeah, yeah, "you can feel his presence". Nice to know you're tuned into your spirituality enough to feel like you're personally getting to know River Phoenix. Dumb shit.

  • You are not making any sense at all. You're even contradicting yourself now. Just let it be, you've embarrassed yourself enough in this comment section. Why do you think everything you say is being deleted? Just leave it.

  • You're pretty funny when you put your mind to it, aren't you?

  • This is just so fucking sad. River was such an amazing talent. Hearing about it on the news is one thing but seeing it being re-enacted really makes an impact.

  • that 911 call is so sad. I feel so sorry for River and Joaquin :(

  • worst 911 guy ever

  • @tonyclifton2010

Being a GOOD actor takes talent. Of course, I think actors are grossly overpaid for what they do and most of the ones we have today are really not talented in the least.

Please, educate yourself on River's life before dismissing him as another "total drug addict."

  • How would you know? Are you an actor? I know all I need to know about that damn dope addict. He was a Hollyweirdo - I probably knoow more about him then you do. Why would you be such an ass as to presume what I do or don'[t know about him?? DRUGS ARE ILLEGAL HE WAS A CRIMINAL and then he fucked himself up and subjectded all those around hiim to having to watch him die and put them in quandry if they should
