  • Hi jen

I have watched your videos and you where asking if someone knew a better way of doing an "edge" to your crocodile stitch to please share it so I will share mine. First I chain sets of 6 instead of 3, that way no matter how long you make your project your always going to have to right amount of dc's to make full scales. Start off the same way you have, 1 dc in 3rd chain, chain 2, skip 2 chains, 2 dc's in next chain across. Once last dc is in place, turn, chain 3 and put 4 dc's around

  • first post, chain 1, 5 dc's around second post, skip next set of dc, 5 dc's around next post and so forth across to the end as in your video. Once last dc is in place SLIP STITCH in center of last scale made and chain 3, dc in center of scale, chain 2 and repeat till your at the center of last scale, chain 1, skip first set of dc's 5 dcs around next dc post, continue making scales until end of row, slip stitch between last 2 dc's, chain 3, work foundation row as normal. Hope this helps

  • You did the rows backwards...row 2 was one scale longer than the first...you only did three scales on the first row...please help!

  • Now I'm confused. This tutorial is backward from the first two. On the croc stitch 1 video you had 3 scales on the first row (not 4). The croc stitch 2 video had 4 scales on the second row (not 3). That was very clear and simple. So what we're wanting to see is how to make 3 scales again on the 3rd row. Otherwise our work keeps making a bigger and bigger triangle. Please? Thank you!

  • WOW! These are sooo good! Why did you stop making them? Please make more. Pretty Please!

  • I watched all three videos and just want to thank you for your expertise! Your instructions were easy to follow. I also liked that I could pause and go back when I made a mistake to see where I went wrong. This is a fun pattern and I am excited to use it. I also liked listening to you...I felt like I was sitting in a room with you and just felt so comfortable with your comments about crocheting and knitting and how the world would be a better place if more people do it! God bless you, too!

  • it was a beautiful stich t

  • Thanks, this was very helpful. Hope to try out soon....

  • I followed directions still got triangle, but thank you for general ideas how to make it.

  • Whoops sorry was reading through comments and wanted to see this vid someone else was talking about and went put the search into the TEXT/comment space .. Doh! Well I HAVE been crocheting for hours and hours so that's my excuse and I'm stickin to it :p Sorry though :)

  • How to make the crochet crocodile stitch

  • THANK YOU!!! THIS IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

  • Thank you so much for doing these 3 videos! I like the pace & it is nice to be able to replay & pause as I need to. Until I am more comfortable with this stitch pattern I will be referring back here. Thanks again for taking the time to do this for us!!! Take Care, Deb

  • Thanks soooo much for doing this vid cause mine was just getting wider and wider .. Now I see how to go straight. It's great now I know how to make a triangle and straight! I might make a shawl! Your vid was so easy to understand. I am a beginner I guess nearly intermediate withnmy stitches anyway and this is just what I needed something a bit more complex ;) thanks heaps and please don't take the vids down for a bit til I master this! I'm not sure if I can commit ot to memory till I've done a

  • Hi Jennie,Yes this is a tricky stitch and I think your doing fine.Havent tried it yet but it is beautiful. Thanks for the demo! Nancy

  • AWESOME, THANKS

  • Actually, ignore me - if I had watched to the END of the video before I had posted, I'd have seen the lightbulb moment I was hoping for ;)

  • I agree with @midnightartistry - I think anyone watching the 3rd installment of this video has 3 "scales" on the bottom row, as per your 1st video, and 4 "scales" on the 2nd row....the sample you're using here is the opposite way around! I'm still not sure how to go about making a row for 3 scales FROM the row that has 4 scales on it, cause using this method I end up with posts for 5 scales!

  • thankyou soooo much your tutorial, sooooooooooo cute and clear.

  • I think you were pretty clever to figure out your own method for doing this stitch. I would like to point out that another method is available in one long video called "How to make the crochet crocodile scale stitch" (looks like Youtube won't let me put a link in a comment) I found the stitches ended-up much neater for me with this method. I also found it easier to understand and mathematically more sound, if that makes any sense (in terms of measurements of all those segments)

  • Hey! First off thank you so much for posting this stitch online! You make it very easy to understand! I'm also having trouble though, but for me, it's figuring out how to make a row of 3 scallops/scales for the third row. So my project so far has 3 scallops on the foundation row, then four, now I need to make 3 again.
