Georgia Florida Game in Jacksonville

As a Dawg fan, I think what we should do about this to end all disputes is to switch off between playing in Jacksonville and Atlanta. If the Dawgs are home it's in the Georgia Dome, if the Gators are home lets do it at the landing by the St. John's river. Many will ask why then not play it in The Swamp or Between The Hedges? Well its very simple the Gator fans and Dawg fans such as myself are too passionate about their teams, there is probably some sort of security threat lol

@myth6727 I just watch clips from the 94 game at the swamp and it was so loud it was awesome. I've yet to find any clips from the 95 game in Athens, but I bet it was electric.

I thought the only reason it wasn't played in either of the fans home stadium was a money issue, but according the this piece it's apparently not - at least UGA doesn't make that much. Not sure Florida's profit on the game in Jacksonville. But I'd love to see a Florida/Georgia matchup in a home and home. Cont...

Though I could see concerns about rowdy fans - however if Florida and Florida State can play in each others home, then why not Florida/Georgia - besides even of the game is in Jacksonville and Florida is the designated home team that year the Gators Football still counts it as a road game. You all know both teams fans travel well, so I have no doubt Athens and Gainesville would be an issue.

The other option is like you said alternate between JVille and Ga Dome.

fine with me.. Florida can play in athens, they last time UF played there they set a record for most points scored by opponent 52..... and still to this day it stands, no team can beat that. As for Atlanta ok.... UF own's that place to, they win the SEC title there all the time.

personally to me as a Georgia fan i think it doesn't matter where they play the game at florida's program has gotten a lot stronger since 1990's winning 16-18 games but why complain they lead the series but georgia does have a good point that it should play at least in charlotte or atlanta

I guess you are implying that Florida post-Tebow will not play at the level with Tebow. My friend, expect the dominance to last awhile. Urban simply can coach, and the QB position will reveal other Gator greats to come.

I am aware of Georgia's past dominance in the rivalry- and I knew about the '42 game. Growing up as a Gator fan in J-ville, those games in the 70's and early 80's were tough to deal with. No research needed. My comment focused on a different context.

I was in 1995. since u ike looking up history then u know that UF has the longest winning streak in the series, and biggest game in 2008. the only other think uga has is the series lead that has been getting smaller. UGA hasent beat UF 2 straight since I have been a Gator fan. what do u mean last year of glory?

@ProZack91488 dude, check up on your facts please.. longest winning streak... both teams have the longest of 7 straight but Georgia has 3 six straight wins compared to Floridas one (98'-03').... biggest win= UGA owns the top 5 biggest wins in the series and has 13 shutouts compared to Floridas 5.... just think about it real quick.... take away this last run of the gators in 1990 the record was 43-22 UGA.... haha so really Florida is just playing catch up nothing special

I don't know what georgia is bitchin about. They have the series lead. The reason florida is dominating right now is simple, they are better. Georgia used to be the dominant one, now its florida's turn to dominate. I don't see a problem with the location. GO Gators. this is the best thing in jacksonville, please don't take it away.

Well UGA may have a problem with the location. Jacksonville= 6 hour trip for UGA/ 2 hour trip for UF... Atlanta= 2 hour trip for UGA/ 6 hour trip for UF... Maybe they wanna turn the tables for a while. But personaly I say keep it in jacksonville.

I think the game should stay in Jacksonville. It's a neutral site that is close to both locations. I don't think the fact that it's played in Florida is the reason Georgia has lost the past 15 of 20. Look at the stadium half the tickets are sold to Georgia fans and half to Florida, it's as much of a home game for Georgia as it is Florida.

this video pisses me off. if the game was moved out of jax, it would change the rivalry. i didn't hear uga fans whining in the 70's when uf used to get their asses beat every year. This is another UGA excuse, and its sad. There are equal number of fans. The game should stay in jax FOREVER!
