Then most of their music is built on intensely amazing, detroying, fucking blowing, rythms that makes their music as complexe as Bach and Mozart together. It's full of a soul but it's first pretty hard to UNDERSTAND their music and led to "pff, not that good, no real feel" >>. sooo fucking wrong. The feel is so there, i feel it. If i feel it to my bones. Except if i'm an ET, if I feel something from their music, then they do express feels. No other band made me cry like they do.

Lemme finish : (...)Gilmour tend to stick with beautiful feels and that's awesome. Petrucci's music, as well as DT's music is a looot different than P.F. First because their set list comes from Fusion to Hard core metal to circus music, passing by Prog Rock and rocky blues licks.

I tried to listen as much DT as i could and then go over Pink Floyd. I have to say that Petucci's influence by PF is absolutely amazing. The transition from DT to PF is just awesome. Normally, when you start the day with DT, u just acnt get back ot other normal stuff. Feels like they have so much in common. Though for myself, DT is undoubtly the best.

Thoguh i have to say that when petrucci pulls out his feeling through pieces like Sacrified Sons, Lines in the Sand or Octavarium, his feeling is much more improved and clear than Gilmour. His live Improvisation are so fantastic it alwas pull a tear out of my eyes. Surrounded is fantastic in the last DT live, as Take The Time and the final Solo, The Ministry of Lost Souls etc etc etc ...

As much as i rly love some of Malmsteens shit, i agree that he would indeed butcher this solo with sweep picking and lightning fast licks. Alot of guitarists make the mistake of thinking speed equals skill. Take a look at the blues, for example. You rarely see a blues guitarist playing fast, because they dont need to. Its about note selection, not speed. That being said, for any of you who wanna figure out this solo, just mess around with the Bm pentatonics scale.
