3:58 onwards really reminds me of a flowing water falling into that bamboo pipe that goes up and down and up again. this is the best versio nof flowing water that I know. if you listen to it while its raining outside, it is extremely soothing. thank you for uploading this.
@noobsmasher Unjust wages paid at your currency or at theirs? I bet if you adjust for purchasing power parity at their local hometown, the wages don't seem too unjust after all!
@hknuddv hey i like the music too but you must be very ignorant.on the internet your kind is often referred to as "weaboo" or "wapanese". china is an opressive country that forces its citizens to work unjust hours at unjust wages. another thing: you dont see the united states, or the united kingdom, or much of europe having giant military parades do you? while russia, north korea, and CHINA do. you think thats because their stronger? no, its because they need to be dominant to avoid a revolution
@noobsmasher123 you clearly havent been in the service, i have, parades and demonstration of power is what happens often in ceremonies... speak to what you know sir
@Graddee I know this a little late to reply but hell, go for it!
The Guqin was on of "The four arts of the scholar" in ancient china (along with games, poetry and caligraphy),
one of the key aspects of the scholar-gentleman class was that age and wealth played little role (and therefore enabled many paupers to move upward socially).
"The pauper who excells in music, is worthy of equal respect as the noble who equals him."
Guang Pinghu, a true master in his time. Probably he played with the old time high quality silk strings, now nowhere to be seen. Players of silk strings, please remember and seek the high quality silk strings and maybe they will be found.....
What can you make of this painting? There is nothing complex about this, only simplicity exists. Simply, there are two men enjoying this playing, and I'd say, liberation is present for the both of them.
@CalifaJohn It was one of the many tracks from around the world sent out with the Voyager probes, along with a lot of Western classical music, some Ravi Shankar and Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode, among others.
its attributed to a Spring and Autumn guqin player named Boya, but its actual origins, like that of many guqin pieces, is unknown. The story surrounding this piece, Boya, and the woodcutter Ziqi is quite interesting. Google it :)
guan ping hu is the performer. the song Liu Shui (Flowing Water) is a song originated thousand of years ago in china. this was one of the songs selected to be sent out to the outer space together with the u.s. spaceship.
GPH is the player. The piece was composed many centuries ago but the version he plays here is from the Tianwege Qinpu which dates from 1876 which was the point it was revised to include the 'rolling and churning' section of the sound of water.
know that technique were rockstars slide their fingers on the strings to create new notes? This is where they got it from, the technique; the borrowed it from the chinese.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah, I don't thinks so. You is dumb, techniques are not borrowed from cultures, sliding on a guitar is not a 'technique' anyway. That is like saying we learned how to strums guitars from the Chinese. No. Plus, how many rockstars do you know of who listen to ancient Chinese music?
all music was influanced by older things this is one of the styles and no they lernd how to strum gitaurs from the indians (of india), and you would be suprised what rockstars listen to do not be ignoranton pourpous
No. No rockstars are even utilizing any new techniques from anyone. Everything you hear has been done before and the same old same old. Not everyone who has ever slid into a note on a guitar got the idea from watching some old Kung Fu movies. Rockstars were taught to do this by their instructor or tabs saying to do so. THEY did not DIRECTLY get this technique from the Chinese. And for as long as we have had guitars, we have known how to strum them...
