ZackC1993 dale sr. died because he basicaly hit that wall head on at 170 mph and the track didnt have the soft wall then so he hit the solid concrete wall.

I don't think they care about flips much because the drivers don't really get hurt from flips. They get hurt when they hit walls hard or get hit by other cars hard.

They have already done so a few years back at Talladega (the only portion of Talladega that is grass is the infield at the dog leg, seperating the track and pit road). Daytona, they haven't fully done so, I think partially because part of the backstretch is used for the road courses

uhhh... there has been about 5 drivers dieing while in a race, Fireball Roberts, some other guy back in the early 60's, Neil Bonnett, of course Dale Sr. and Adam Petty. oh, and the crash show wit Dale Sr. in it in this vid is not where he died he died at daytona in feb. 2001
