  • Can i ask how does a German shepherd get this and how old is your doggie?

  • that is so heart breaking..

  • FurKidsMom1 Can y ou share the brand of your wheel chair I like how it is supportive of the back feet so they are dragging. Thank you so much for sharing this. You are wonderful!

  • I had a dog like that once....:(

  • This video is exactly what my GSD Cougar has and we are just getting a cart organised for her what a horrible disease Greta looks very happy and her attitude seems so much like my Cougar I hope she copes as well as Greta seems to be is she also wearing a brace for her legs

  • @malicougar There is a great new product out seems to work great on dogs suffering from degenerative myelopathy. If you want to check it out - website is at:

  • Clever Greta x my German Pointer had DM, it is an awful disease, he was so brave and dignified x I hope that your dear girl is still doing well x

  • I HATE that disease!

I hope they find a cure for the disease soon!

  • Thank you for posting this video!!!! It is so helpful and hopeful! My dog is 12 yrs old and just got diagnosed with DM. I have was wondering what ype of cart are you using and if you are using the Biko Brace also?

Thanks again and I hope Greta is still doing great!

  • hi my dog is 12 and was diagnosed last year with dm she used an eddies wheel cart and its brilliant they are so professional and we are so pleased with it. Also please please please see Dr Clemmons protocal with aminocaproic acid we have her on this and no progression for 12 months fingers crossed!

  • I got my dog Belle a wheelchair....she still walks using the Biko brace (youtube Belle biko brace).....are you using a biko brace with Greta's wheelchair? Belle suddenly won't walk with her back legs when she is in the chair? Maybe if I combine them she will? Is that a Biko on her?

  • Hi the frustrating thing with DM is that it is a presumptive diagnosis so a lot of tests will need to be carried out incl radiograohs mris myelogram to be completely sure, these are expensive and distressing we have been through it recently with our poor baby

  • how long was it from when you first noticed any initial signs to this stage ?

what was the first tip off to the disease ?

i noticed she walks more with legs crossing then actually dragging her toes.

my vet recently looked at my dog for dragging her toes a bit and said useally she has seen the leg crossing along with toe dragging and said she thought it was likely not DM in my dog im still very concerned though

  • @XxmattitudexX It comes on suddenly I remember when I was 16 and my parents had a gsd one day when my dad threw her outside to housebreak she got disabled like tht and my dad felt so bad cause he thought he did it to her and the dr reassured him that it was a disease....was a sad moment we all cryed he was such a sweet puppy:(

  • Thanks for posting this. It's comforting to see Greta doing so well with her wheels. I soon will be getting some for my girl. My girl is so stubborn I hope she takes to them well.
