@RIMBR You're correct. In Greek, a hand was basically the entire forearm. People cannot be crucified with nails going through the hands (common misconception), the body would fall down. The nails would go either in the wrist, or in between the radius and ulna in order to support the weight of the body.

The Man on the shroud is actually 1,83 meters tall. Average people in palestine at Jesus Time had been about 1,50 Meters tall. Today average male Persons are about 1,80. They took a thread from the center of the cloth and it dates as about 2000 years old, and there are pollens in the cloth only found in Israel.

The shroud was restitched in 1534 after it was damaged by fire in 1532, why didn't the carbon dating show this date?
For the carbon to become contaminated enough to throw off the date reading then you'd need twice as much modern day carbon to confuse the results enough

This is a creation much like all computer generated films.there's no real proof via CG effects, effects being the keyword. this just shows unadulterated view of a romanticized jesus. we forget ourselves as normal when we all watch CG animted films and think, wow, that CG movie was cool! and knew it to be fictional, yet the same specail effects is used to create jesus and you all think, "wow, there's the real face of jesus." If you look around some sources, (Bible especially) that slavery was often a way for someone to pay off a debt, by working for them until the debt was paid or the jubile came around.

They took a thread from the center of the cloth and it dates as about 2000 years old, and there are pollens in the cloth only found in Israel.

The shroud was restitched in 1534 after it was damaged by fire in 1532, why didn't the carbon dating show this date?
For the carbon to become contaminated enough to throw off the date reading then you'd need twice as much modern day carbon to confuse the results enough

@NilDesperandum777 To jump from an acknowledgement of Jesus' existence to "the evidence supports his claims" is questionable. Per my reading, yes, many (maybe most) acknowledge his existence, but it is then a leap to say that they (the historians) therefore accept "his claims". Which claims? The claims in John (he is God) or the claims in Mark (no such claim)? They are separate questions, with separate opinions.

@NilDesperandum777 ~ Read "The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold" for good solid scholastic treatment of the "historical Jesus" question. Josephus's assertment has been regarded by modern scholars (theological AND secular) as an awkward addition much later by church officials. Any other (precious few) historians who may have mentioned a "Christ" or "Christus" were writing later enough after the time to render them unreliable.

Secondly Fuckhead the shroud was restitched by Nuns in 1534 after the fire in 1532, if the carbon dating was taken from one of these areas why is it dated from the 1300s?
