I fly in Aces High, better game with better aerodinamycs than this game, you should try it if you didn't allready. I think you would be a amazing pilot there
Thank you for your comments. I have my private pilots license but have never flown anything with the awesome raw power of the Mustang. But having an idea about aerodynamics sure does help. This video was a blast to make and I am still flying with this sim on a regular basis. I fly with the CAF 96th Squadron and spend alot of time on Hyperlobby. Just look for CAF_96thNavy
It's all about the fuel. Il-2 sim doesnt have the ability to select which tank you burn fuel from. In the real world you had to burn the fuel out of the fuselage tank first, what made P-51 much more stable and maneurable than with full fuselage fuel tank.

aces high has better aerodynamics?! I haven't tried it, but I still believe that Il-2 has the best (most realistic) FM ever

i tried aces high and i didnt like it.
il2 has better graphics and better aerodynamics but i guess thats something which is personal opinion.

mega, at low speeds yes, p51 was designed for high speed operation, has combat flaps that deploy at even 400mph, don't get in stupid turn fights

It is a real balancing act between power, energy, and control surfaces. But it can be done. Not really any use in combat though but alot of fun.

In IL-2 you should just use 25% fuel.
