This is a great video, i do feel like this is a forgotten cancer. I am going to share this with everyone I know.I am a twenty year survivor of ewings sarcoma. It was a long hard road but after three times I am hear today. I also had a scapula replacement and am doing things they told me I would never do. Iam very grateful to all the people that helped me thru it all.
O wow!! i'm def faving this video!! i also had sarcoma, i was given a clean bill almost 5 years ago now. I had leiomyosarcoma, in my eurethra. Before that i as well had never ever heard of it!! such an awesome video! more ppl need to know how important it is to be aware of these crazy diseases!!
Very informative Video We Need to do everthing we can to make things better. I am Currently Having treatment for my second Osteocarcoma the first was in my leg 10 years ago and now I have one in my sacrum I will keep fighting though keep up the good work
thanks for the great video and for bringing attention to this horrible disease. maybe one day we will have a cure. Im one of the "faces" of sarcoma--Kenny
I am a 17 year survivor, dealing with my 8th recurrence of soft tissue sarcoma (MFH).
Bruce, I commend you for highlighting all of the important points in an easy-to-understand fashion, while motivating everyone to do what they can to help.
i could think of nothing worst than lying in a hospital bed dying of cancer, but for some people thats how they go,why who knows, you dont know,is it harder for the person watching or thr person dying,is it fair, why children,
Hi i have ewings sarcoma and am undergoing chemotherapy and my mom has been at my bedside every night an stayed with me everynight i was in the hospital not one time was i there by myself and i am extremly trumendously words cant discribe gratefull about that an somtimes i really do think its harder for the people watching.
Thank you Bruce for all you do to bring awareness to this horrible cancer. You honour your daughters memory every single day. You also honour the people who are currently fighting this forgotten cancer. A thousand thank yous Sir Bruce!
Bruce, thx for doing this! Sarcomas so need the help via donations to fight this very rare cancer. The funding is so small from the cancer community due to people not knowing enough about it. There is no cure now & we need a cure to this devastating cancer. My mom passed from liposarcoma & how much more Ihave learned since then. PLEASE HELP!
I'd never heard of sarcoma either until my Dad had liposarcoma. He fought hard but the third time around it snuck up on him. By the time he found out there it was back (and he was being followed) within 6 weeks he was dead. We'll miss him greatly but we must get more funding to investigate why, and how to treat this. Everyone seems to react differently - a very complicated condition. Let's get the word out.
(1) Thank you, Bruce. My beloved wife is dying of a dedifferentiated STS as I am writing this from her hospital room in Boston. Over the past 18 months, each attempted chemotherapy has failed. Her condition has worsened as aggressive recurrences took control of her body after four surgeries. Every effort has been made by her devoted cancer care team at DFCI. Yet the sad fact remains that there is no cure for the millions of advanced, metastatic cancer cases today any more than fifty years ago.
(2) Curing cancer is running on vapor. Please read the link /2tpecl (tinyurl), and start asking questions. I have no pet causes, and am no activist; I simply love my wife, and hate to see her suffer. Blame (lack of funding, resources, or political resolve) misses the point. For the sake of our dying fellow humans, such excuses just will not do. Billions spent, millions of hours researched. Why do antiquated cancer paradigms continue to fail every day, while promising alternatives get sidelined?
Due to current cuts in federal funding the National Cancer Institute(NCI)has decided to completely and totally cut their current sarcoma based research trials and those planned for the future. As a person with Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma, an incurable form of the disease, it is sad news. I am 60 years old, but there are many children whose living or dying should not be determined by budget cuts. I just thought I'd put this out there, since your comments tell me that you sincerly care.
I never really knew about sarcoma. It's amazing how many children and adults suffer from this deadly cancer. Hopefully more people will help spread the word and raise awareness of this. Good luck to all.
Thank you for finally bringing more awareness about this terrible cancer! My daughter died from chondrosarcoma,I had never heard of this tyope of cancer before she was diagnosed.
