I have written the details in the info section. The chant is by the Greek Byzantine Choir, it's just an private archival concert recording, so the quality is not exactly stellar.
I ponder, if in the times of the Eastern Roman Empire this was sung by troops or for troops? I have always wondered if the Byzantines had religious hymns specifically for the use of the military!
@Gunnarr123abc i guess it´s probably because the romanoi (the term byzantines was adopted by western historians) like and frecuently use religious symbols in his armies... so i guess it´s problably they chant this kind of religious chants before the battle... because i don´t believe that the "byzantine" soldiers chant during the battle as Templars, Hospitaller or many crusaders...
But you must consider that in his late period, they make an extensive use of mercenaries
oh, and i am curious about the lyrics now :D in greek

One of the icons shows a blue white-bearded man. ¿What's the name of the icon?

@Gradllon I am curious about that as well, I think it could be the devil, but then again a child is on the lap (Jesus?)
But the child does not have a halo, while the angels do so perhaps it is an icon of how the devil.. deceives people with heresies
who knows! I really want to know where the icon is from
