  • this is exactly how i stretch my natural hair, matta fact mine is in braids as i type

  • I wish my mum knew how to care for my 4b hair back in the day like you do your daughters!

  • what is 4b hair is that like the color or something see im a girl and i know nothing of my hair or others gorsh im freaking out HELP if i can get any tips plz just send me some

  • pointles.

  • That child has some really pretty hair

  • Omg Love it my hair is like this and I have no idea how to steach it without heat thanks

  • Great tutorial and your daughter's hair is beautful. Thank you both for sharing.

  • wow...this didnt and kinda didnt help at the same time somehow but ..... if my children still had natural hair and not a perm this would be very great!....

  • @oranekayla If they are relaxed, then searching videos geared towards relaxed hair would be beneficial and worth your time. Unfortunately for you, her hair is natural and that is what I can share at this time. Sorry this video couldn't assist in your hair care needs. Thank you for watching the video and God bless!

  • @BlessedCurlyGurlz Wow this has been beneficial to my own hair! THANK YOU!!! And your daughters hair is beautiful!

  • ...and GOOD JOB MOM! Its hard work, but very rewarding..I'm definitely subscribing!

  • @rellepsu1 Thank you and we appreciate your support! Thank you so much for watching the video! God bless!

  • @BlessedCurlyGurlz Love your vids, your baby's hair is wow, very thick! I too have lots of shrinkage as my hair is wavy and curly, but I keep lots of conditioner in my hair and it works wonders...got to get some shea butter and see how that works. very beautiful!!!

  • Hair relaxer is poison! There was even a movie/documentary about it called, "Good Hair"... by Chris Rock. Perm is a deadly chemical.

I stopped perming my hair 3 yrs ago...And shaved my head balled! Seriously...I started over, and have been HAPPIER since. My hair grows steadily now, its naturally soft...

..I get temptations to relax, but then I remember the HELL I went thru with the retouching, and new growth, and learning how to care for two (2) types of hair..smdh..not worth it to me.

  • @rellepsu1 Some things are not everybody and it is always good to do what works for you. No matter what you do with your hair, it is wise to become educated and familiar on how to care for it in it's state. Thank you for checking out the video and God bless!

  • @rellepsu1 i~did~the~same~thing~i~choppeed~all~my~hair~off~like~2yrs~ago~and~it~grew~back~so~soft~and~long.~i~don't~even~have~perm~it~at~all,~all~i~have~to~do~is~wash~it~and~flat~iron~it~and~it's~good.~i'm~so~loving~my~hair~now!

  • Wow her hair definatly takes me back to when I was little. I had so much hair and my mom didn't know what to do with it lol. Great video.

  • @nck08 LOL I think a lot of our mothers didn't know how to care for it. I'm glad I learned to care for my daughter's otherwise she would be scalp length. thanks so muvh for viewing the video and God bless!

  • Beautiful hair. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • @AmberAuNaturel Thanks for the compliment! And thank you for watching the video!

  • her hair is lovely ! how do her ends feel??..I only ask bc my hair texture is the exact same and I BC'd last May, but my end feel sooo prickly..it drives me crazy and I feel like they're damaged :/

  • @SwirlieCurlies Thank you for the compliment! Her hair ends are soft. Here are a few things I can think of for the reason why your hair may be prickly...you probably still have relaxed/texlaxed ends that wasn't completely removed, need more moisture or maybe heat related issue. And keep in mind as the hair grows, the ends are the oldest, so extra care needs to be taken to retain the length. Hope this info helps a little. God bless and thanks for checking out the video!

  • Loved the care in which you did your babies GORGEOUS GOD given hair (and also, that she was reading her book thru the process -priceless)!!! I'm grown, can you do mine?? J/K lol!! Great job mom, all mothers of natural hair babies should see this... thanks for sharing!!

  • @LGnLA LOL...I wouldn't mind doing yours :-) All we want to do is share what we've learned and what has helped. And thank you so much for checking out the video!

  • nice!!!!!!! i honestly hope she knows that her hair is just soooo beautiful!!!

  • @rich80baby LOL...she loves her hair :-)!

  • Oh sis, this was my hair up and down when I was a kid. My mother would do my hair last so when she was done she could go sit down and rest. She pressed (hotcombed) our hair and pulled it silky straight with curling irons. So we had heat damage. As adults we got perms and carefree curls, etc. Never saw our hair potential. Now I'm middle aged completely natural/no heat and wouldn't trade it for anything! This vid is going to help a lot of girls and women.

  • @nessa4yisrael LOL @ the sit and rest before doing your hair! Poor thing! I guess that is the way they thought it was the easier way to handle our hairs. Middle aged or not, it is never too late to start a healthy hair journey! And I know your hair is beautiful! Continue to inspire. HHJ and thank you so much for watching the video!

  • I love that u r keeping ur baby natural!

  • @twinkle817 Thank you so much twinkle817! Educating and learning about my daughter's hair paid off so far. Thanks for watching the vid and HHJ to you!

  • That's a cute room she's got there.

  • @Aritul Thank you for the compliment Aritul!

  • As a professional hairdresser, I advise people with relaxed or natural but especially relaxed hair to not cowash your hair, it creates a build which can cause the chemical not to process as well the next time and blocks nutrients from the scalp, instead use a dry shampoo. Cleansing your scalp is essential for hair growth.

  • @JBeezyJesusFreak Thanks for the info, but she is not relaxed. As an EXPERIENCED personal stylist to her and myself, cowashing has worked very well. For a child who has very coarse hair, her NG comes strong, moisturized and soft. And she is still able to sweat out of her pores. This info would be more beneficial to post on channels for those who are relaxed. Thanks for watching and HHJ!

  • Thank you for posting! I just happened to stumble on your video and I can't wait to let my 6 year old daughter see it. I have been looking for natural hair care videos that show tutorials on how to manage and style 4b hair. Please keep them coming!

  • @NinahSouledOut You're welcome! I hope this method works out for you and I hope she likes the video too. We will keep the videos coming and thank you so much for "stumbling" to our channel! God bless and HHJ!

  • Omg! You are so heavy handed on that poor child's hair. Is it really necessary?

  • @Gigillove Heavy handed? I have the slightest clue as to what you're talking about. I'm no where near heavy handed...Not at all...lol. She is extremely tenderheaded and by her facial expressions I don't see where she exudes any pain. If YOU think that I handled her hair "heavy handedly", then I guess I'll keep handling her hair the same way since her progress is coming along great. Thanks for watching the vid and HHJ!

  • @Gigillove Also keep in mind that parts of the video was also edited with a quicker speed to lessen the video time, probably why the thought came that I was heavy handed.

  • @Gigillove although she was holding the bed post at the end, the little girl was not squealing, wincing or crying so, it seems like it was fine.

  • i do the same method and it really helps keep tangles away. thnx 4 vid!

  • @anmllvr234 You're welcome! And yes, it helps a lot to keep the tangles away. I know there are other ways to help detangle and stretch the hair which I have yet to try. But atleast I found something that works so far! HHJ!

  • What makes me so happy about this video is that I remember when a head like that would have caused lots of tears on both sides! Even pressing it (yes, I'm old) would have been traumatic. You and GirlsLoveYourCurls (another YTer with daughters with 4b hair0 show that it's totally possible to manage and nurture this hair without heat, chemicals, or drama. Thanks for posting this video!

  • @LBellatrix Aww, thanks LBellatrix! I'm glad I learned early on while she was still young. If I kept on doing what I was doing before, she would probably scalp length to this day. HHJ to you!

  • I wished I saw this before I put relaxer in my daughter's hair.

  • @melizzamelizza

Aww, I wish you did too. But right now, if you decide to keep relaxing our daughter's hair, you just need to find ways to keep that processed hair healthy as much as you can...by moisturizing, cowashing and styling that will not add too much stress to the hair. Also consider when she has NG and keeping in mind at that moment you will have two hair textures to deal with. If you decide to transition to natural again, you can find videos that can help with that process. HHJ!

  • ahh great video, accolades to your daughter she sat and promoted the look of 'ahh yes, my beautiful kinky locs-tame'em momma'. I love it! Thanks for sharing. BTW your daughter and i have the same hair type-dry & tight; thanks again!

  • @tmnorice Thanks for the compliment! We also took breaks which also helped in the process. And I hope you do learn from our videos to maintain those beautiful tresses. Anyone can get information for themselves too, not only for the kiddos :-)! HHJ to you!

  • Please keep the videos coming, they very helpful. My daughter has the same type of hair and I have no idea what I'm doing.

  • @joy1210ful

Yes, we will keep the videos coming hun. We hope you do benefit from what we have to share. We still learn as we go along and if it works well, we will definitely put it out there. If you have questions, inbox us our send us an email, I will post it on your channel page. HHJ!

  • very cute!

  • @catskratch2 Thank you!!

  • aww she's a cutie

  • @ChloeCharleslovesyoo Thanks for the compliment and thank you checking out the video! HHJ!

  • Beautiful hair - nice video!

  • @supynorr

Thank you and thanks so much for checking out the video!

  • This is very beautiful, I love your daughter's hair. Now many black women can learn how to accept their hair type and not believe the media hype about straight hair. I wish I knew I knew these tricks earlier. Do you ever trim her ends?

  • @westherie

Basically as long as the hair is healthy that should be the main thing that matters :-) I do dust her ends once in a while...I just basically clip a little while in twists. I have yet to do an official trim on her hair yet. So far, dusting has worked well and keeping the ends moisturized. I said the same about knowing these things earlier...it is never too late to learn new things no matter when it is discovered, HHJ!

  • shes beautiful

  • @snickerdoodles787

Thanks for the compliment and for viewing the video!

  • thanks for posting this video. Its so difficult to find a true 4b on youtube. my hair looks identical to this when dripping wet.

  • @LadyEpoch

You are welcome LadyEpoch! I'm glad the video has been helpful. I have also been presented with other ways I can stretch her hair without heat. One of them, I used it as a simple style in the past and the other I have yet to try. Those vids will be out in the future. We also have a Banding video that BlessedMomOf3 put together beautifully and know it will work well 4b texture hair too. HHJ!

  • BEAUTIFUL HAIR. :)

  • @LadyKayHere

Thanks so much for the compliment and thank you for stopping by our channel!

  • Looking at this took me back when I was in between my granny's lap.....

  • @janeblow80

Awww, I know you cherish those moments. And I know she took care of your hair beautifully!

  • Mom...where you get that huge comb from...I need one for my hair. lol

  • @janeblow80

Hi Jane! You can get the comb from a BSS which is where I got it from. Check Sally's too. The comb works great and I also use it on my own hair too. HHJ!

  • Thank you for this vid. My baby gurl have 4b hair and this vid was very helpful.

  • @wilsonkia

You are very welcome! And more than welcome to ask questions if you have any. I am still learning as I go along too. HHJ to you and your Blessed Curly Gurl!

  • this is awesome. if i have girls i will NOT be relaxing their hair!

  • @ciutah

As long as they have a healthy hair journey! Thank you so much for viewing the video and coming to our channel!

  • I love the fact that she is reading as she gets her hair done. I wish I could get my little sister to do that when I do her hair!

  • @kisakye92

That is great that you are caring for your sister's hair! She will truly appreciate you as she gets older :-) Distraction is the best way to make the time go quickly for them...books, a movie or a handheld game does the trick. She will pick up a book some day...as long as she has books that appeal to her, even kids' magazines.

  • @BlessedCurlyGurlz thank you! HNY to you as well

  • Beautiful hair! Such a blessing to have someone who is helping her appreciate the beauty of natural hair! If only you could have spoken with my mother when I was a child ;)

  • @elainemaik

Thank you! Finding the hair sites here has helped me tremendously along with doing research to see what works for my daughter's hair. But for you, it still isn't too late for healthy hair care :-) Thank you so much for viewing the video and the words of support. God bless you!

  • Do you mind sharing her regimen? My son is practically her hair twin, and I'm really struggling with finding the right products for his hair.

  • @MissLysreign

I don't mind at all. Being that for some reason, I can't post the link here in the response, but I will post it on your channel page. We do use many natural products. BlessedMomOf3 uses all natural products for her girls including a self made gel that has worked beautifully as well. HTH and have a Blessed New Year! (-Sdestra)

  • @BlessedCurlyGurlz thank you! I appreciate it.

  • @BlessedCurlyGurlz

    love love love the video

  • My daughter's hair is JUST like that. Texture length and all. She hates getting her hair done. Will def be trying this. Thanks

  • @beautynessence83

Great! I hope it does work out for you and her. Let me know how you made out too. God bless and Happy New Year! (-Sdestra)

  • My hair is a lot more curlier than that, but Yes, I've noticed that 4b natural hair such as mine tends to strech whenever it's braided...sad thing is it shrivels back up when i moisten it to braid it and that can become very frustrating and difficult.

  • @28Irishhugs...Thank you so much for viewing the vid! If your hair is curlier, you may have a looser hair type, maybe a 3c/4a :-) I agree, the shriveling can be a bit frustrating depending on the style you are going for. I don't know if this suggestion might help or if you tried this...try wetting just a small section at a time as you braid. That way you don't wet all the hair to avoid shriveling. Again, thank you for stopping by & God bless!

  • For the best thread method, check video's of girlsloveyourcurls , she gives the best method for it..

  • @kenbrid

Thanks so much Kenbrid! I saw someone else do the method too. But I will try it out and see how it works for my daughter. I'm still learning :-). And maybe we'll see a video in the future. God bless hun!

  • Good video. I use the same method with thread on my daughters 3c hair. Your daughter has a gud length. My daughters hair is so thick, n long. Keep it up. Im learning...

  • @jemjtt

Thank you! How do you use the thread method? That sounds like a great way to stretch the hair. Maybe I can try it one day and see how it works :-) And keep up the good work with your Blessed Curly Gurl's hair, sounds like you're doing a great job already!

  • Love this video. You did a really good job!!!

  • @ForeverCurlyCatrina

Thanks for viewing the video! I'm glad I found this technique useful for her extremely coarse hair. She doesn't complain of her head hurting and I don't have much frustrations.

  • @najadee

Great question and thank you for watching the video! Being that I had already moisturized her hair during the braiding and/or twisting, I don't remoisturize, but I make sure her hair is covered over night. But when her hair is styled for the week or 2, I moisturize her hair ends almost every night. Even if they were tucked in, I moisturize them and tie a scarf before she goes to bed. And please let me know how the method works for you :-)

  • My daughters hair is the same way. I washed it yesterday and banded it to stretch it. It worked will be doing it again

  • @keinisha30

Great! As long as you find an easy and healthy way to care for her hair, I'm all for it. I'm sure you're doing a great job on her hair and do keep it up! God bless!

  • oh my gudness, I have never seen such shrinkage before...this is incredible...but love the way you go about the hair of your dd's, tumbs up, just luv it..such a gr8 example for my daughter!

  • @kenbrid

LOL! I know, I know...her shrinkage is crazy...and I'm so glad that I have been coming across different ways to make our lives painless and tearless...lol. And glad that we can be a great example for your daughter too. God bless!

  • Your videos have been so helpful when it comes to my daughters hair! Even my mother in law has said how good I've been with my daughters hair.

  • @PinkAddictive

Awww! That's great if she notices the difference in the health of your Blessed Curly Gurl's hair! You're obviously doing a great job and finding things that work for her hair. Bravo to you. Continue what you're doing :-)

  • Thanks so much for this video. I can't wait for the one on banding.

  • @nini44418

You're welcome hun, and I hope it is helpful and useful for you. And yes, the banding video is in the near future! Stay tuned!

  • Her hair is gorgeous!

  • @pinkrosesfly

Thanks so much for the compliment hun!

  • Great Vid girly! I am sure your daughter is happier with this method! lol very healthy and painless alternative!

  • @MsRhondaGirl

Yes! Very much happy! She rarely flinches when I do her hair especially that she is really tender headed. Thanks so much for the compliment on the video and I hope it benefits you. God bless!

  • Luv this hun! It's a great way to stretch her beautifully thick hair :)

  • @TheBlessedmomof3

Thanks so much...I had to find a way to make her hair more manageable besides using heat which I used to do often. And using heat prior, made her hair a bit dry where I had to moisturize even more! Thanks so much for checking out the vid, BCG mommy!
