Yeah, but using the Xbox mic is trickier. It doesn't really seem to like the lower end of voices. I personally like the real mic for that reason, but ultimately you choose which you prefer.

when playing rockband for vocals what if u play the same song from like a boombox and then put the microphone next to it while u are playing the song on rockband does that work am i the first one to think of it? if there is someone thats done that before plz post a link of youtube or something else?

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work... One of the reasons is if you play the song from a boom box, you also get interference of the musical instruments from the song. It's just like having the volume on your TV really high and trying to sing at the same time. It barely even recognizes that you're singing. Another reason is timing. You would have to play the song at the exact same time as when the song starts on Rock Band.

One more reason that I can think of off the top of my head is some of the songs are cover versions of the original song and the cover version singer finishes lines of lyrics at different times than the original singer does. So, you would have to use the version of the song they used in Rock Band.
