  • Copadaoo Very good from argentiuna!! excelent

  • Just finished your tutorial on this song and now I can play the whole thing!! Looked forever for an accurate tab and none of them were actually like the real thing, so I now have an accurate depiction of how to play the song the legit way.

  • @TheAlbinoPlatypus

Thx! I could never find correct tabs or clear videos. That's how I got the idea to start this channel!

  • Comment removed

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Yeah it helped me a lot. Do you recommend any effect pedals that aren't like $400 but get the job done?

  • @TheAlbinoPlatypus i reccomend the Zoom g2nu. You need some brains to get the correct tones for some songs. Its just my opinion

  • greaaat :)

  • the opening music is a song by Litfiba isn't it?

  • @CheccoVertigo

    Yes, "Maudit"

  • I didn't know The Edge made tutorials for his own songs. That's why we can never see his face... Its really The Edge himself!! :D

  • Is that a Gibson Les Paul Custom or an Epiphone Les Paul Custom? Killer guitar playin by the way!!!!

  • @StringBender567

It's a Gibson LP Custom from the '80s. Not mine, borrowed guitar.

  • Don't you have this backing track on your computer so you can upload it on your website? Since the original website isn't availiable anymore...

  • Nice work. Is there an envelope filter on the verse arpeggios giving the picking that squelchy sound? What are your settings?

  • @benbutterworth

See other parts to the tutorial. I show my detailed Axe-Fx settings. No envelope filter specifically. I put two different drives in series for the intro, solo and outro. All explained in the tutorials. See my channel page. I have all the songs organized into play lists.

  • Where did you get the backing track?

  • @QF210

Someone in the UK created it. His website is no longer available unfortunately.

  • Nice. I wonder what it would sound like on a strat

  • hey michael best cover of until the end of the world you did great job once again:).I want to upload a better version of this song but i dont find a good backing track.Keep the good work!!

  • awesome job... i like the song at the beginning, thx for the discover

  • @darkvadortonpere

Hey, thx for the feedback! I spent many hours on this one and it worked out well. I don't like the main riff tone on this guitar. Not quite bright enough. On my new LP it sounds better.

  • Hi, great cover and tutorial! Question about your guitar: I can see it's a Les Paul Custom but is it Epiphone or Gibson? What about the colour? The lighting makes it look a little creamy but I was wondering if it is in fact Alpin White. Thanks!

  • @Tapiola2007

It's an 80s Gibson LP Custom. It was white in the '80s and turned cream over time (which they often do when exposed to sunlight). It was a borrowed guitar. I don't have it anymore. I now own a Gibson Limited Edition Custom 25.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials OK, thanks for the info. I rather liked the creamy colour. Mind you, if I had a Gibson Limited Edition Custom 25, I'd take it in any colour! ;) Keep on making the tutorials - they're fantastic!

  • I would like to know the story behind the guitar intro, maybe it was something caught on tape accidentally and they found it great... who knows...

    Well played

  • This is an awesome cover, well done.

  • Great job! What's the song that opens the video? Pardon my ignorance. :)

  • @DarkWriter31

Italian rock band called Litfiba. Song is Maudit.

  • I don't get the capo on the third fret thingy. Whenever I play with the actual song on the record, I end up play in standard tuning and without a capo. What am I doing wrong?

  • @AppleChef22

It depends on what you mean by "actual song." Do you mean the original studio version? I'm playing the Slane version. In the 360 tour Edge also used a capo on the 3rd fret. You may or may not be doing something wrong. But if you are playing to the Slane backtrack, you can't play this without a capo.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Yeah I mean the studio version. So when Edge (or U2) play(s) the song live (360 tour for example), is it in the same key as the studio versoin? Because wouldn't putting a capo on the third fret change the key of the song? The reason I say this is because, like I said before, when I play with the studio version it seems like The Edge is playing without a capo. (Hope that makes sense)....

  • @AppleChef22

I never checked the studio version. I prefer the live version. The studio version could definitely be in a different key.

  • wow ur amazing man...still havent got it down but getting there

  • нахуя очки то одел придурок??))))

  • Even more than impressive!!!! excellent!!!! always grateful to both you and your work!!!

    Thanx again dude!!!

  • This is really awesome and inspiring! I thought I played UTEOTW well until I saw you!

  • @JimboMansonMB1: Very kind of you, thanks! More to come.

  • Where does the backing track come from? Is the guitar part deleted out complete so you are just playing? That would be great to have various live u2 tracks with no guitar so I could play it. How does all of that work. thanks!!

  • @sillis75: Someone in the UK who calls himself "Am" makes these backtracks. You can find them in a Google search under "u2 backtracks." Second result in the list. The link with ntlworld in it.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Just discovered your channel, and am gonna put this to good use :) I knew "Am" live backtracks website and just checking again it I saw it was down "due to legal reasons".. I have a few backups but this is sad :(

  • @ChrisErvik: Fair comment, thx. Heck I have to go back and learn the entire song again anyway! Haven't played it since I did this cover. Thank you for being constructive in your feedback. It's much appreciated. I'm always learning and welcome tips and feedback.

  • Killer Cover I love it! ;)

  • @CR0SSJ : Hey, very kind of you, thx!

  • but isn't the Intro to the tutorial from Litfiba? (an italian rock band)

  • @paolotubo74: Yes, it is! I choose different songs from different bands for the intros/outros for each set of tutorials.

  • The best cover of this song ;)

  • I love the killer thumb up of the Apocalypse at the end !

  • @thomasdeliot95:

Ha, thx! It took me a few takes while practicing to get it right. The thumbs up at the end was my signal to tell me it was a good take when going through all the different versions.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials

A funny way to do it, I like that ^^

    Very cool !

I already learned the famous guitar part of this song, the arpeggiated one. Thx for your tutorials, they are all very well done and extremly helpful.

Patiently waiting for Van Diemen tutorials though x)

    Rock on !

  • thats an excellent cover!!!!!!well done :))

  • Hi! I need your help!

I have TC Nova Drive and TC Nova Delay. I tried to use your setup, but there is something wrong in the sound.... do you know how make a right setup for my configuration?

    Thanks very much!

  • Hi! I need your help!

I have TC Nova Drive and TC Nova Delay. I tried to use your setup, but there is something wrong in the sound.... do you know how make a right setup for my configuration?

    Thanks very much!

  • @RyoFCSaeba: Hi, I go through my set up in detail. The core tone is a Gibson LP in bridge position and an AC-30 amp or amp modeler. The drive model is the Boss OD-2, so you have to get one or have a unit like the Axe-Fx that can model it. Finally you need a modulated delay. The TC Nova Delay should be ok, but you need the right guitar, drive model and amp.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials I seen your setup in your video, but for Nova Delay i think there is some differences. So, if you know it, do you know how adapt your setup for nova delay? I have a Les Paul Custom, Nova Drive pedal for drive anche Laney VC30-212 Amp.

  • @RyoFCSaeba: Sorry, I don't have a Nova. Join our group U2_Guitar_Tutorials on Google Groups and maybe someone else can help you.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials ok! thanks!

  • wow, i'm completley blown away. well done!

  • Don't listen to people who says that this is a waste of time my friend......you have a lot of people around the world following your tutorials. But if you want to earn some money maybe you can put some ads on your videos.

    Thanks for that excellent work!!!

  • @jmedinapa:

Very kind of you, thx. You have to be invited into YouTube's Parner (ad) program. A Couple of my vids received invitations, but I'm not applying for it because (i) I wont be approved because the underlying music is copyrighted (see Partner rules) and (ii) I don't wish to profit off of U2's material. This is just a hobby and a great way for me to learn the songs. Thx for your support!

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Excellent reply, keep it on YOUR terms, for the enjoyment and fun of it is what makes it so challenging, these vids are priceless for detail you can't get else were. Need to hush now say thank you and subscribe !

  • Very goog! wow!!!!! Thanks from France :)

  • Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! Thanks for posting one of my favorite tunes! I haven't watched all of your the tuts - but did you cover the difference in the studio vs live? (aside from the capo?)

  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuddddddddeeeeeeee!!!! Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! Thanks for posting one of my favorite tunes! I haven't watched all of your the tuts - but did you cover the difference in the studio vs live? (aside from the capo?)

  • Don't get me wrong man, I love you and your tutorials :D But what do you win by doing this? Isn't this a loss of time? You have like 300000 hours in tutorials!!! Hope this isn't a loss of time cos im looking forward for more tutorials haha

  • @FiliBrushedRed :

I don't know the songs yet, so I benefit also. If I'm forced to show others, then I put pressure on myself to learn them. Everyone wins. I couldn't find detailed tutorials when I first started, so I decided to turn the tables and do this for everyone like me who is looking for U2 tutorials. I enjoy teaching and hope this channel will eventually be a valuable resource for future generations of U2 fans.

  • Oh man, this is amazing!... I wanted to learn this song so bad, but havent found any good turorial until now, thanks a lot!

  • Michael - you get better every day!!! I think you are in the wrong industry! I am virtually throwing my underwear onto the stage after watching this. Dan S (Lake Oswego, Or)

  • beautiful guitar!!!!!!!!!good job

  • awesome sound champ ^5

  • This is excellent.

  • could i ask how you manage to get the guitar out the tracks you play along with? cheers

  • I didn't do it. See my website U2GuitarTutorials (com address) and go to Other Resources. There is a link to Am's backtracks.

What you do is rip the six tracks off live DVDs and often the guitar is on just one track. You can recombine the other five and remove the guitar. Some just take the voice track and put it on top of their own backtrack (that's what was done on this one). It's not U2 with the guitar removed. It's an origianlly produced BT with Bono's voice pulled from a DVD.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials ah ok thanks :-)

  • @IshtarDK :

Yes, thx, I have. See my Promo Video on my channel page. I did a video with the deleted scene from It Might Get Loud.

  • Brilliant !!! Congratulations

  • This song is the whole reason I started learning the guitar. Amazing solo

  • haha your ending is hilarious!!!! great job I wish this would be on line 6 m13

  • Comment removed

  • not one of U2's best sings, butits a cool guitar part. Bono's voice is oddly distorted.

  • @WilliamRampart

thats from the backing track cus the guy who makes them takes out the vocals some how and adds his own drum and bass and by taking out the vocals they kinda get distorted theyre not as bad anymore theyve gotten better

  • Whoever the two noobs are who disliked this, your both retarded. Thanks for the vid U2GuitarTutorials :) Spot on. Great song, cant wait to see the details on the effects. Im too lazy to work out for myself :L Cheers

  • @mr2points:

Thx for your support Mr2points! I noticed someone gives most if not all of my videos a thumbs down as soon as the video is posted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. No big deal. I'm not doing this for money or fame. More to come.

  • Thats great!

  • hi, could you please tell me where you get the backing tracks, thanks.

  • @palmtree2367:

Go to u2guitartutorials on the Internet and I have the link under Other Resources

  • Great playing, Michael!

Looking forward to the rest of the tutorial.

  • Another Thumbs up Great job....Thank you for sharing this great song.

  • Can't wait for the tutorial!

  • good...verygood!!! delay time???

  • @EdgeGonnellina:

Tutorial to come. I think about 433ms (dotted 8th note) and 450ms lower in the mix for the solo. Details to come.

  • Zajebiscie ^^

  • Excellent!! I wish I could play U2 tracks as awesome as you do.

  • Not perfect? Well, it's still f***ing amazing. :) I love the way you play the final part. Can't wait for the tutorial! Also, I'm not from Italy, I'm from the near Slovenia, but I can still appreciate the intro song. The old Litfiba with Pelu' and Ghigo were truly fantastic. After Pelu left ... not so much.

Keep up the great work, Michael, and thank you!

  • Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • piero pelù and ghigo renzulli are shouting for joy.

  • piero pelù and ghigo renzulli are shounting for joy.

  • Man, awesome, even better than the real thing ! Congratulations

    Harry

  • You got a nice setup man, sounds just like the edge. What did that Axe-Fx Ultra run you? 2000?

  • Finally was waiting for this!! You did not disappoint :-) Looks complicated but with your help once again u will break it down and give us a fighting chance. I think I got the thumb part at the end w/o the tutorial though :-)

  • Excellent!! Edge would be proud.

  • awsome playing, grt looking guitar, whts it by the way

  • FANTASTIC! *-*

  • wow...that's fantastic, great simulation of the OD-2

  • @muggle911:

I think I spent 10+ hours modeling the OD2 with the Axe-Fx. It is possible to get it 98%+ the same. It's the BB Pre drive model with some changes to the various parameters. To come in the tutorial.

  • what's the intro of the tutorial?

  • @respectmyauthority01 :

I was waiting for this question. Those in Italy will appreciate this song. It's "Maudit" by Litfiba. Their two best CDs in my opinion are: Re del Silenzio and Spirito.

  • Dude you really are one hell of a guitarist!

  • Cant wait for the tutorial, once again fantastic job.

  • awesome cover! im subscribing!!
