Erotic dance performed by women to the sexual pleasure of men, with the intention to "turn them on" is neither art nor a form of self expression, but objectification, a way to degrade women, proving the imbalance of power. Let me see a husband learning and performing an "erotic bellydance" to pleasure his wife. I bet they´ll find it DEGRADING and not something A MAN SHOULD DO. I wrote the comment to contradict this misconcept of Oriental dance.

Yes, it is a form of expression. Sometimes it is a household activity where everyone joins in (that is how the kids learn). But sometimes in private wife may decide to express a different sentiment.

I think that in the middle east we look at it in a different view that does not involve any guilt or degradation. We grew with it and it is natural.
