The castle/keep gives me strange JRPG flashbacks. It seriously sounds like one of the appropriately ridiculous shifting tracks for a last dungeon/boss.

I imagine making this one was pretty fun, being that the tonality of SMB is really simple compared to later NES games, so you could focus on the composition without having to labor to get the voices right.

Very cool. These tracks reminded me a bit of Faxanadu for some reason, the first track more than the others. Probably some subtle nuance I'll realize a few years down the road. Also, lol@ the castle theme. Badass, brother.
