The historical Necessity of Fences and Borders in South Asia has long been over. Its the politically allured politicians keeping the barrier for the people of this region to stay apart. South Asians share same Culture and heritage.Why keeping them Apart?

@m00x No body is trying to keep them apart. If they want to cross borders let them do so with proper visas/work permits and not illegally. I presume you know enough about the ppl and their issues in that region. If you do, then you should know that mass illegal immigration from plains to the hilly areas across the border has changed tribal demographics considerably resulting in huge societal tensions leading even to terrorism. Now, no government would want that, would they ?

It was built because since Indian independance over 20 million Bangladeshis have crossed into India illegally causing demographic change, resourse contraint and communal tension.
