The reason you see the sky is most probably because this has been filmed with a mobile phone which the guy or girl held in hand. When the noise was too loud the operator put his hands over over his earmuffs and forgot about the phone - I know I would do the same. Honestly, as this is NOT an airshow and you didn't pay for the video, I just can't understand what you expected the plane would do in the meantime...
@pgp000 No, the reason we're seeing half a finger and a cloud is that the person who filmed this is an idiot. If he wasn't, he would have at least had the decency not to upload the bad footage!
@rolfen well - at least we have ANY footage of this procedure and I am happy I found it. I can see the setup required to do the test, I hear the engine. Not much changing during the time you are seeing the sky anyway. You expected to see explosion or a fire maybe, dead bodies?
@pgp000 No. I agree I went a bit strong when I called the person an Idiot. That was wrong of me and I regret that - I was probably in a horrible mood back then. Yet, I think it's normal and not too much to expect that the person filming would not be pointing to the sky instead of the camera for so long. It's just very frustrating.
The rudder is right there, man. What you are seeing that is making you think the rudder is gone is the drag chute housing at the base of the tail, which extends the base farther out than the standard base on other F-16s. All Norwegian F-16s have it. Its throwing off your perception because the tail base on most other F-16s only extends a few inches past the base of the rudder.
The sound at 6:18 & 6:22 and during the video is made by a device called a CENC motor. (Convergent exhaust nozzle control) This motor opens and closes the nozzle and the sound is the air coming ouf of its (the CENC's) exhaust on the bottom of the fuselage.
@Planehazza That is actually the nozzle actuator engaging, it makes that noise when the hydrolic pressure depressurizes and the nozzle opens up. I really miss that sound.....

Way to put your head against a 3000psi flight surface with hydro...on an aircraft with automated flight surfaces none the less.
