@Crazy4NPH This week's episode was a little disappointing after waiting for two weeks! When are they getting rid of Kevin? Plus, they're repeating storylines and old ideas. Puzzles again! I love this show, but next season has got to be the last. This season finale, Barney and Robin get married, Ted meets the mother, and they wrap it up next season. Ted's love life should fall into place, Marshall, Lily, and the baby and Robin and Barney with the ups and downs of marriage with humor.

I LOVE JAson Segel, but I hate this show. Its so camp and not funny, plus they use a laugh track, pathetic. Seriously the bloopers are a million times funnier than the actual show, because of Jason.

The Office U.S., Louie, Parks and Recreation, Outsourced, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Extras, Modern Family, Curb your Enthusiasm, just to name a few. And having people laughing isn't the problem (I LOVED Everybody Loves Raymond, but it had an actual live audience). Any show that uses a laugh track isn't funny by default, its just pathetic and desperate that they need to use one.

Trick question--I don't watch modern comedies aside from HIMYM, so the laugh track is irrelevant. Among those I do watch are The Cosby Show, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm (sometimes), and Scrubs, the only superbly funny show in there that doesn't use a laugh track. I also watch "Newhart", which was filmed live, so it does and doesn't.

Well you shouldn't have said "ripoff" then because that implies that someone copied Larry David's work, you should have just said they were the same show. At any rate, I've found out what the issue is. Your opinion is misrepresented. The use of a laugh track is irrelevant to whether a show is funny or not, which is subjective anyway.

In my opinion, shows (esp. comedies) are best served when the main characters are new or unknown.

@matrixphijr no he can reuse his own work but copying implies two different creators. Well Seinfeld is an adult show and I'm 19 so I was 8 when it went off the air. I've heard its funny I could never get into it though. In my generation, laugh tracks indicate a not funny show. HIMYM has such like forced punchlines and fake acting, same with Big Bang Theory.
