I honestly think that Kojima should've made this the official ending. Granted, letting Meryl survive provided a nice opportunity to see her matured self in MGS4, but if this had been the official ending, then Snake would've had a major guilt hanging over his head like Naomi (guilt for causing suffering from her tech stuff).

Either way, this scene is just heartbreaking.  But it gets you Stealth Camo! :D

Its scenes like this that make me admire Snake so much more. In the beginning of the series, he's portrayed as this cold hearted, stand alone guy who only cares about the mission. So when I see stuff like this where he breaks down over someones death or shows compassion to someone elses loss ( ex. Otacon when Emma dies), it makes him grow on you. Its the same with Naked Snake in MGS3 when The Boss died.

I never played 'Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops' (in fact, I don't even have a PlayStation Portable'), but I do know something about Gray Fox's life through 'Metal Gear' and 'Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake' (for the MSX2 Computer System)...and also through 'Metal Gear Solid', but Snake merely explains what happened in the past games. after watching this it reminded me of the white box one of mgs1 I used to own. so I checked my basement and I found it and I put it in my ps2 and GUESS WHAT IT WORKED!! and it blew my mind cuzz its been in my basement for 10 years!
