@TheMaddenfan1 Oh yeah, I felt 100% the same like Watson. Thankfully I didn't faint like he did. But I felt and still sometimes feel so happy that Holmes survived it. My my, its still so touching.

The new Downey jr films are a rip roaring adventure with imagined Victoriana.The stories need reinvention to keep them fresh and alive. It is testimony to their popularity that there is a new audience entertained by them. When it comes to the next production company to do as Granada did with these we will all be ready for the next definitive actor to take on the role, ready for the original stories again.

I find Jeremy Brett wonderful in this episode. This episode is my favorite of his short stories, with The Sign of Four being the best book adaptation. Jeremy is Sherlock Holmes to me. I can't read any of the works without immediately thinking about him. What a shame he died before completing all of Conan Doyle's works.

I am absolutely hypnotized by Jeremy in this episode...The way he touches his face at 17:29. his adorable way of inspecting the floor accompanied with the snort afterwards, and that face full of mimics at 48:14 he is just lovely is he not?

I love this series. This's the real Holmes. The present movies is good but I cant stand the way they ruin Holmes with Robert Rowney Jr.
