Anyone who doesn't get the ending or appreciate it...imo...doesn't have any taste....the ending is amazing....ne one who's been to jail or rehab can somewhat relate to him....he's institutionalized, prison or a mental facility is the only place for him..in jail like he said..."I killed a child molester, I'm an American hero' and he.gets to be with his father....the ending is beautiful..in a very cynical way tho..one of the greatest movies I've ever seen
