  • @norman8844 You need to wake up and smell the coffee brother. Sounds like you would have made a good German back in '39 and just followed Hitler right into hell. If you are going to be that bold, I hope you have the facts to back up you pseudo patriotism because my FACTS tell me that he is taking this country to ruin. I hope you are young enough to suffer the results of this American catastrophe..

  • Alan rules.

  • The mom and pop restaurants are always the best.

  • I am sad that this video has inspired so much hatred and bigotry. A hatred of foreigners, of different ways of thinking. If we had not moved on to new ideas, we would have fallen behind. I have grown up on country music my entire life, I grew up in a little ho-dunk little hick of a town, I've seen small shops and diners close up and it hurts to see small town america suffer. We all must do our part to keep what little we have alive, godbless the little man.

  • & could we cool it on the Obama crap, he was born in Hawaii, & grew up in Illinois & is a Harvard Law Graduate, he is not a Muslim bigot or anything of the sort. He is as American as any of us, I didnt vote for him, nor was he my first choice for president, but he's what we got for the time being. Support our commander and chief as you would support our troops, you may agree or disagree with their ideas or their mission, but by God you better support them, that is what it means to be an American

  • Seven people who disliked this are prolly Obama supporters or Chinese and need to rot in hell!

  • obama needs to watch this video as well as the other people running for president in 2012

  • Here in Puerto Rico, USA Territory, we are having the same problem. Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Walgreens, Kmart and several other big franchises are taking over the Island and creating a land of employees instead of a land of small business owners. Almost everything sold everywhere says "Made in China".....and, like the song says, in almost all 78 towns in Puerto Rico, like the song says "The town square is just a set of streets"...quite dead...

  • IT breaks my heart every time. , the story Of America for the last 30 years of importing chinesse crap. Oh But And this chapter is not over! We Will not give up. We will Not Stop! We will endure and come back Our Businness willl Thrive !!! Made in THE USA! for me.

  • Unfortunately, this chapter of history is over.

  • "Now they sell velvet Elvis and second-hand clothes."

Somehow, the saddest lyrics in Country music.

  • F--k wallmart

  • Buy American

  • @54Panchopper And there you have it PEOPLE, just buy AMERICAN if you can find it anymore! can be hard to do! But I'll be damned if I'll buy from China or Nam !! makes my blood run RED hot. Get that communist CRAP out of our country. For that matter get RId

  • @swagner48 of that fk MUSSLIM PRESIDENT! Who is doing his damndedst to make us a third world country, because he HATE AMERICA. People better wake up come voting day!!!! Or you won't be hearing any music like this!!!

  • @swagner48 im from britan and you are not alone in you your thoughts we are all on the down hill slope thanks to our so called leaders musslim is on its way and are we man enough to stop it as our forfathers was i think so but lotts dont

  • walmart's not the problem, people are the problem. greed is festering this world to a shit hole.

  • I remember my first job pumpping gas at an ole filling station, man did I clean a many windows. Thomas Terrace Exxon is still there, has made a few changes but the little man is still living, and just as proud as ever

  • if alan jackson really cared he'd stop selling his cd's at wal-mart but obviously he doesn't.

  • @zakwani88 I think thats more of a record label decision than Alan's.

  • put Ur hateful comments somewhere else.

  • Wal-Mart + Red China=Demise of American enterprise.

  • I hate little Man.

  • HE PUMPED YOUR GAS AND HE'D CLEAN YOUR GLASS AND ONE COLD RAINY NIGHT HE DID YOUR WIFE UP THE ASS.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 AND SHE DIDN'T CALL HIM THE LITTLE MAN. ROFL!!!!

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Haha

  • It is great that people glamorize their small towns, and easy life. I once lived in small town across the Atlantic in Africa. Now an oil company owns it and their workers.

  • oohhh i feeelll you Alan...It's the same way here is South Dakota...I'm Native American...served this country well...and respect it well.... but have see good folk out here struggle and lose it all in a season...towns become ghost towns...big corporations....tightening the noose...and expanding....slowly flushing out the little man...money and power...we can't fight that...we're the little man...

  • 7 people don't like the little man.

  • alan jackson ur the best man love ur music

  • Never liked country ntil I heard of this man

  • @Topgeneral3070 same here my friend, this song makes me remember my grand father i miss him so much all the good times we had together make my grand mother pissed with all the shit we did!

  • oh for fuck sake

    im looking for the rap

  • THUS IS NOT FUNNY!!!!

  • This song reminds me of Dr Pepper/Snapple; Dublin Dr Pepper was the ORIGINAL Dr Pepper and the ONLY Dr Pepper worth drinking! Way to kill the "little man". Also, I'm not sure what part of "Don't Mess With Texas" you don't understand, but you screwed with the wrong state.

  • Just heard that Dr Pepper shut down the original Dr Pepper in Dublin Tx. Another small town victim. What a shame.

  • Alan Jackson shows in his written songs & singing to be shy of the hero worship, sincere, truthful in what he sings with no self love or foolish pride.Few artists like that.

  • how could u dislike this song it is 100% true

  • i love this song:)

  • damn shame how our world is evolving i like little towns

  • best country song ever made:)

  • it aint walmart or any other big company that destroyed the "little man" but the UNION that did

  • God bless America <3 Like if you do think so!

  • pavo is a good town

  • Dear Wal-Mart....Thank you for helping make this song!

  • I come from a dying small town and it's true. The town i'm from we already lost our only grocery store; because of a big store moving to a city near my town. I wish that Walmart would go away. I'm from Trinity, N.C. and around here people know people. We need the big man to go away and bring back all the small town business.

  • Fan music Country Poland :)

    Alan Jackson :))))))

  • Theres a store I've gone to since I moved to Chippewa Lake thats still around called East Bay. Been goin since I was 8, and I'd get a coke with my dad everyday. But with a song like this, you never know how long it will be around. I love going in for the conversation and seeing friends :)

  • I had a lot of fun when I went to film this video, it was fun fun fun!! although they made me dress funny!!!lol

  • hey jackwagon this was America where you had freedom of speech.I do enjoy the music and it says the same thing that I have saying for years and that is (if it was not for republicans there would not be a need for welfare and mom and pop would still be in business)

  • if the republicans get their way ,there will be no little man .

Republicans are for the rich man not the real people of this country. So get rid of the big money and tax the shit out of them if they don't want to do their part in this great country get rid of them .Rich big money need to move to their own country if they don't want to help the people that got them where they are today

  • @dirtmagirt10 dude don't be a jack ass now shut up and enjoy the mucis u little demmy

  • @dirtmagirt10 Bullshit Republicans are for small government and less taxes for everybody. If we paid considerably lower taxes we'd be able to afford to keep the little man around. We wouldn't keep shopping at the giant blue monster. Freedom of speech is great but logic is better. keepin the government out of your life as much as possible is the way to be bud

  • @CSAPunk13 If we dont pay taxes we cant afford to have a functioning country, the fact is the middle class needs reduced Taxes and the 1% needs nearly double taxes. You don't want government? Well then please dont use OUR roads, sidewalks, education, public transport and don't buy anything that you don't produce yourself. No you dont want a dictator style government, or a Big Brother government, so thats why you reduce its authority, not how much it helps in our lives.

  • @dirtmagirt10 Your obviously a dumb ass liberal or a democrat get your facts strait stupid ass

  • @soulstealer612 Well a Liberal is a Democrat, so get YOUR facts straight first off.

  • @imhightoo you just shut the fuck up

  • @cotybarker Well fine then.

  • @imhightoo Thank you :)

  • Long live the little man..no matter how big they are!

  • Alan jackson must stay on atop10country singers for ever

  • Dear Alan Jackson, As long as I live, I'll keep fighting FOR the little man.

  • Alan Jackson is the KING OF COUNTRY!!!

  • the little man gots it bad, no doubt. But Why be so sad over whats gone? the little mans work ethic will carry him into prosperity. count on it.

  • Don't forget about the little man.. Worldwide..

  • I got fortunite to live in a very small town where even still today most are still mom and pop shops which is really nice to see, then moving to a city in cali where almost everything is owned my corporate is very sad to me! Food doesnt taste the same, friendlness went out the door the rich is getting richer and the poor has almost become homeless!! bring back the mom and pop shops thats all we ask!!! Anyways well said Allan Jackson!! all the thumbs up from me!!!!

  • 1:33 All I know is Chuck Norris buckles up. I'd be damned if Alan does.

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say Lady Antebellum. You say Jason Derulo, I say Jason Aldean. You say T-Pain, I say T-SwiftYou say Ke$sha, I say Kenny. You say Pitbull, I say Paisley. You say Justin Bieber, I say Justin Moore and go grow a pair.92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 3 videos. Stop being DUMB and start listening to real music!!! COUNTRY!!

  • this song is so true.

  • Alan Jackson could care less about his home town...js

  • @Tomekacoalson and yes he does, why? Because he is an honest man, not all the popular artists are selfcentered, as you may think.

  • Mr.Bangs Grocery store,Waldrops Gas station, just two of the little men that I considered Giants way back in the 60s and 70s.Now there just empty lot"s,It"s like they were only a dream,a beautiful dream.God Bless the Little Man.

  • Who knew that this song was so prophetic? Who knew that the little man's demise was a 'canary in the mine?' Who knew that the demise of the little man was not just 'old colorful American life,' going by the wayside, but the wholesale destruction of our very humanity? When the little man was being destroyed, who spoke up since you could save so much at Walmart? But now that the 'little man', i.e all main streeters consumers, as well as vendors are being destroyed who will speak out?

  • This song is one of the principal reasons for me deciding upon my major in Historic Preservation. God Bless the Little Man and the downtowns that once stood strong, and those of whom are still trying to make it.

  • Mon Dieu il est beau Alan Jackson! je l'adore

  • My mom is the woman with the rings and the guy next to her is my father =)

  • one of my favorite songs, god bless the little man!!!!!!!

  • good ole Pavo and Barwick , Georgia is where this video was shot. 2 small country towns about 20 minutes from where i live. i love living in south georgia and wouldnt live anywhere else. i much rather keep the small local owned business than these big dogs

  • i can listen to this song over and over again without getting bored

  • nice song alan ;)

  • Alan Jackson for my nr.1 - este interpretul meu de suflet D-zeu sa-l binecuvinteze ,si odata cu el si pe toti ascultatorii lui din ROMANIA cu mult respect....

  • I love this man! I love his music!

  • ford

  • god bless the few small towns left !!!

  • The town I am from, Lebanon Virginia is like this. A small town of 3,000 that now has no jobs and full of drugs. It is very sad to see.

  • Heres one for the little man.

  • go though all the little towns in southeastern il and sothwestern indiana where i was born and u see how this song is right on the money. the little towns are just dying

  • I guess I'm lucky. In my town we have a Walmart, but we also have a lot of little businesses, so we're doing fine. When I do manage to get out and see all the neighboring towns is when I see some of the sadder sights.

  • voi home.

  • I miss Main Street. I miss going to Ruch's Fountain and getting an RC Cola. I miss going to Murphy's Department Store and looking at toys and listening to the old ladies gossip. I miss going to RX All Drug Store and trying to get a peek at the girlie magazines before the owner caught us. I miss going to the saturday night movie at the Gaslight and getting a coca cola in a paper cup with REAL ICE in it. I guess most of all I miss the people, real people that I knew their name. I guess i'm old too

  • @goldendoomer

I've lived in a small town for 22 years, I'm 29 years old, and when I first moved to this town these were the same types of days I had. All the little mom and pop stores are gone, its so sad. People drive through town now because they have to in order to get on the highway to goto the closest city 30 miles away to goto work. The stores that are left here in this town are not worth shopping at because most of the time they don't have what you need, unlike 20 years ago.

  • @goldendoomer i wish i had the oppertunity to experence the way life was like that was around

  • @goldendoomer Least you remember. Which is all you need, cause as long as you remember all the good times they're never really gone

  • @goldendoomer Horton's General Store, Tainters Pharmacy, Friedman Jewelers, Burgin's Hardware, Pyatt's Autoparts, Rice & White Furniture, Moore's Department store.... Marion, North Carolina.

  • @goldendoomer I miss everything literally... IM 16 AND IT SUCKS. My generation is the worst its about sex, drugs, and drinking. I grew up listening to old country... Well not really old but like 1980+ and its really relaxing just getting the good country thats not about beer and the stereotypical tractors.

  • @ThatsWhackSauce same here bro. im 17 and i hate all this "country". fucking keith urban can suck a taylor swifts dick. thats not music, its pop. alan jackson is my type of music. dude we were born in the wrong time period. if you havent heard the song ":a country boy can survive", you'll love it.

  • @PersonWithAnAccount7 i have heard it and i love it... another one of my favorite songs is "song of the south"

  • if it were not for high taxes high gas prices and what not people would have the money to saport the little man

  • as you ride through all the small towns in alabama where im from you see this song is very true

  • This song is very true. Our family has a local butcher/meat shop and ever since wal mart came to our town our sales have dropped alot. Its dissapointing.

  • @HurtinAlbertan1000 screw walmart!

  • @HurtinAlbertan1000 Big corporations are destroying america and the world

  • @HurtinAlbertan1000 walmart sucks ass

  • 7 corporations (Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, K-Mart, JCPenney, Menards, Lowes) all watched this video.

  • VERY TOUCHING SONG! WHY CAN'T THINGS GO BACK 2 THAT FEELING OF LOVE & DEVOTION???

  • I am 21 and have lived in the same town I was born in...that my parents were born in and in the area that my grandparents grew up in. covering pretty much all 100+ years my town has been around. What used to be Gibsons Hardware is now Home Dept. What used to be Super Sac is now Walmart, that went away before I was born for the most part.. I saw the same factory go through three coorperations and the welding place my dad worked at close down shortly after he had to quit because of his health.

  • Good music Alan... : )

    From Brasil.

  • you shop at places like walmart.. you have created the monster help the little man before its too late

  • @fischsnopro it is to late i hate to say

  • I HATE STARBUCKS SHITTY NASTY TASTING COFFE @Pooface709

  • im 15 and fell like im missing the good old days

  • @schrein9 same :P i wish it came back much better than now.. grettz from the netherlands.

  • @schrein9 Your not alone in that thought my friend. 16 here and lucky enough to have a father who lived in the time of the little man, said those memories are unforgettable.

  • in my town there used to be a coffee shop that all the cowboys used to meet up about 4 30 and talk about farming and old rodeo stories, now that place is a starbucks.

  • 1:28 free replay button! :D

  • He played this at the White House in front of President Clinton. Didn't do anygood.

  • @duckbanana12 and @graffitilunge:

It's not Nashville, its a small town called Pavo in Georgia, near Valdosta.

  • what town is this????

  • @duckbanana12 Nashville.

  • WTF is a Justin Beiber, sounds like a gay llttle fag kinda sissy fellow?

  • why doesn't this have 1 BILLION views?!?!?!?!

  • Keep borrowing money from China and America will be a thing of the past like the Little Man

  • The song is great but vevo sucks

  • This video shows us one of the greatest tragedies of the modern age. Traditions are dying because the new generations are trading the hard sacrifices of their ancestors for the "hip and new" international "community". Learn to hate and fear it, because it is more real and threatening than ever. It doesn't improve the world, it destroys it.

  • @Vovk3 Plus, we don't make anything anymore. We let someone else do it for us. Sad,very sad. Glad to have been a kid in the 70's in a small southwestern Virginia town of 5,000.

  • i lived in a little town like that

  • Drive down Main street in Maryville Tennessee, you'll see the difference. Roys record shop...etc. They're all gone now. Oh....they also changed the name to Broadway...?why?

  • @thaven143 I'm lookin to move there, it's not reached the level my current city of Murfreesboro has, but you can't stop it, everyone wants cheap, the little stores can't buy bulk to keep the cost down. I watched Lavergne TN grow to a conglomerate, it's full of warehouses and shipping companies, my high school is surrounded where it once was alone. I'm 39 now, and starting to think I'm living in the wrong time, business moved overseas, mass unemployment and expensive gas, our country lost its way

  • God bless the small town southern man... Why have we destroyed them for walmarts and targets? May God have mercy on our souls for killing these wonderful people with our greed!

  • I want to be here the day we realize the mistake of paving everything in sight, offshoring the jobs, and disappearing into our video games. China has a long-term plan that considers North America to be prime real estate, theirs for the taking in just a few decades.

  • @MadSmokerBBQ The earth is getting warmer cause asphalt draws heat and reflects it, city's facing record temps aren't that way due to global warming, it's because they've paved near every square mile in town! When business go belly up, it sits empty as another is opened down the road, more pavement, cut down more trees, build more locations to abandon in the future pave America tour.

No more getting repairs, close the shops, go buy new "Chinese" replacements that don't last.

  • As a UPS driver, I made deliveries to the town on this video. It's very sad how these small towns have died out along with the small farms and farmers. Thanks Alan Jackson.

  • Here is my deal to all the viewers of this video, I come from a small town and we need to keep them alive against the big chains. I say post this video on as many channels to show who REALLY built the towns that are now gone if not on the verge due to the money grubbing INCs. GOD BLESS AMERICA and AMERICAN MADE and the troops and truckers

  • A great example of AJ's brilliance! The modern folk genius.

  • I'm a bricklayer and i'd give my right nut to work these bastards one day. They'd quit or die.

  • This is happening all over the world... sad but true

  • GOD BLESS THE LITTLE MAN!!!

  • i love the little places...man...towns

  • Reminds me of my town, used to have 2 traffic lights and one was a flashing caution with just some garages and a diner. Now we have 5 round-a-bouts and more to come. All the feilds are gone and they planted housing developments...it makes me sick

  • lol love this song....this is happening all over the south....in my little town the little man died and a arab bought it and is changing everything...its bull shit

  • 6 dislikes were not a little man

  • 6 people hate the little man

  • Bring back the little man. Bring back the mom & pop stores, huge corporate companies and banks can dry up and disappear for all I care as they aren't hiring anyone anyhow and for the most part are stealing money from us for their bailouts.

  • i think this a good felling to feel

  • I agree with what nslaven22 said. Who cares what the name of your religion is or the name of your political party. It's irrelevant. People are people and that's what matters. We should all look out for each other.

  • It's so sad to see this happenin throughout our great country. The Walmart, and chain store empires are ruining our towns...They claim they create work but really suck the diversity and life out of our areas...When they move in they are really killin peoples passions and livelyhoods...and we are just lookin for a deal....

  • 6 people should go see how nice all the little towns people can be or they can just go die

  • @USMCJROTCcpl agreed

  • i wonder

  • This song really hits home. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

  • here son and she bought a coke took my bottle cap and gave me the second one :) I was so happy. I miss those days and I am happy that Alan Jackson sings about this stuff he is a great guy and I will always think his music is the best.

  • I remember when I was younger that I could go into the store and the first thing I would hear is, How are you doing Dave's son, but now clerks don't care for people's names and aren't are friendly as the use to be, lol I remember when I was about 13 my brother bought me a coke and inside it said, get on free, so I walk to the store later that day I brought it to the clerk, she told me that you had to but one to get the one for free, I was a tad bit mad, but I think she noticed I didn't have any

  • The little man will be back!

  • I love this song. Im from a small town of 1,500 and tha same is happening here.Little man gettin pushed to tha side. I used to love goin to tha mom and pop stores and buyin minows to go fishin...Greed is takin over tha world now. God bless, and keep lookin up.

  • god bless you alan :)

  • this video was filmed in pavo, georgia. The place where my parents grew up and where I visit my relatives every summer. The town is real old and dead but its not nearly as bad as it seems in this video, theres just hardly any younger people. Lots of old people and people my parents age
