Ek is using very short time periods on these trades--I believe it is 4 and 8 period MAs but I could be mistaken--check out his blog at IT he talks much more about these trades on there :)

Would Bollinger Bands give you a good read on you highs and lows?

Hey Tallorder, I would suggest checking out lesson 25 in Dave's technical analysis videos which cover Bollinger Bands. They basically are standard deviations in either direction of price to give an idea of a type of channel although are not seen as very reliable to be used this way by most traders.
