You play amazing! I have a question, with an epiphone SG G-400, and with the same effects, could i make the guitar sound like your's between minute 1:36 and 1:50 for example? Because i have been watching videos and the sound of the SG with distortion is different, but maybe with the correct effects it could sound like that... Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i'm thinking to buy a SG but i don't know much about guitars so i wanted to be sure that i could make it sound very different ways..
I love epis. Their cheap, tougher than gibsons(use a poly finish instead of a nitro and their headstock isnt as easy to break off), and sometimes I even prefer the feel of one over a gibson... Only if its professionaly set up
@365Avalon (17 degrees). Epiphones have a 15 degree headstock I believe. Now, according to physics, which headstock put more pressure on the nut? The Gibsons. This is why you see SO many Gibson headstock breaks and repairs. Ask any professional Luthier and they will tell you the same. There ya go
@LordOfThisWorld74 Sorry you're reaching with the neck angle stuff. The difference is minimal, I've seen plenty of Epiphone sans headstock. C'mon now, don't be THAT guy.
@LordOfThisWorld74 I'm afraid so. Mostly that stuff about Epiphones being stronger than Gibson guitars. I would love to see some evidence of this claim. I dig you supporting the guitar you own, but lets not get silly.
Ok. Polyurethane is a very strong, almost plastic like substance. Nitrocellulose, which is found on Gibsons, is a brittle substance. Poly is very hard to damage, but once it is hurt, its hurt. Nitro is very easy to damage and if you damage it, you can buff it out no problem. It also lets the guitar breathe better because it is not plastic based AND it is a thinner substance. This alows the wood to "breathe" and the finish to age. Gibson headstocks have a greater headstock angle

@LordOfThisWorld74 Is this why so many Epi players try to sand off the poly finish ?
