@Zombywoof91 its actually "shed' as in a shed of wood..as if they would actually say shit in a cartoon for kids..haha, got to love the stupidty of sum ppl
02:13 I always tried to figure out What Christopher was saying when he moved his lips a little. I think he might be saying "Oh no". Later on, he starts to go hella crazy...I think he's been drinking too much sea water XD
If you listen to the other two rats as they leave the ship, they explain that the Swarm Lord "knocked him out cold". Whether that means he died, I don't know, but you don't see him for the remainder of the film anyway.
@BigDogJang0 If I had to venture a guess, I would say that in the foreign version, the rat died, but when it was brought to the US, they dubbed in the "hes out cold" line to not freak out the kids. Either that, or the original film left him out of the third act entirely as a continuity error that nobody caught for some reason & the dubbers used that to explain it.
@Xunkun despite having many animation flaw as it was probably rushed out of production.. I still there's much to be appreciated. I first saw this when I was a kid and I thought it was hilarious. I still find some parts unbearable to watch without laughing my ass off. but still, even with the animation off at some points, I find the voice acting to be pretty damn good. but I guess you can't please everyone.
@seanalexanderdurand It's true you can't please everyone. I, for one, like this film. But I can understand why others didn't like it. As far as I'm concerned, the critisim for this film boils down to the fact that the film is barely about Columbus in favor for a more "Disney-esque" plot. A similar thing happened in "Tom & Jerry: The Movie" to... who else? Tom and Jerry. Though in the case of THAT film, it seems that it was initially intended to be a generic film, but the studio insisted upon...
...putting Tom and Jerry in there for marquee value. In the case of THIS film, it seems the producers, here, ALWAYS had it in mind to make a film about Colombus, but tried to make a few "improvisations", and ended up overdoing it. Still, though, I find that BOTH films are not that bad, especially not on their own. But when it comes to stuff like this, I would rather see things from all sides than act like an opposing opinion is 100% wrong. I think that we should all agree to disagree.
@ThomasNCookieMonster I really don't think it should have been "Columbus". it should have just been a parallel story like it. but I still like the movie very much. the last part with the temple is just impossible for me not to laugh. mostly because it's absurd and out of his world (but what else do you expect from animation??)
@seanalexanderdurand I'd have to agree, especially with that first sentence. It was that very thing that made me conclude how similar it was to "Tom & Jerry: The Movie".
@seanalexanderdurand Yeah, and it cemented in my head the image of Columbus as a lovable dufus. Probably more historically accurate than thinking of him as a hero. In actual history he never did anything important on purpose.

0:16 - "time for a cultured conversation while hanging by my neck."
0:44 - Fell to the bottom, then a few frames of being back at the top, then back to the bottom.... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this animation.
2:03 - ...... *sigh* god damnit, it's Jaws IV all over again.
2:16 - HE'S BEEN HANGING THIS ENTIRE TIME.
3:00 - amazing amount of glare for a temple that's like 2-3 miles away.
4:40 - I WISH.
