great thoughtful commentary on the subject. Obama has a tough job, almost a cleanup job, and deling with the WMD issue is going to be monumental to the world. he may be just right.
I love your videos, Lisa. Sadly some of us "Floridians" didn't have any say in when we were going to hold the primaries, and it didn't get counted and my family was just outraged by it. And now, this is just me I think- they are going to "lose" some of the votes again in Florida. I just can't believe that our country stooped to these levels. Keep making videos Lisa, like I said I love to watch them. :)
You talk about that they did not want to break the rules.. Your comment there made me laugh. hey are Politicians, they break the rules on a daily basis.
my name is arianna. i was only 13 when i died. my father was the one who killed me with his bare hands. he strangled me during the middle of the night when i was in bed. he dissapeared after he killed me. the police never found him. if you do not post this on at least 5 videos and 5 profiles by 11:59 om tonight, when you are in bed asleep I will come and strangle you till you die

II] People are too worried about other (stupid) peoples opinions and their capacity to get brainwashed, which compels them to voice their opinions. Obama had faith that people would be somewhat rational and do the right thing. They did so in the primaries and they will in November. Those who won't vote for him are either unconcerned about the issues or prejudiced to begin with, and no amount of speaking to them can change that.
America is a very funny country, where actors seem to be more concerned about political issues and politicians are more interested in dramatic ones. Palin is a good reminder of this fact with the soccer mom , moose hunting, whale thumping, lipstick wearing pig thing.
I] Don't worry so much about politics. It's riddled with corruption in pretty much every country in the world, though what's considered important in candidates changes from country to country. The only thing one can do is ...
By the way, you are talented and will probably get a movie deal for one of your characters sometime soon. The Russians love your Paulina character (the ones I have shown your videos to). Try to add a few Russian words to her texts. The old pun about how the movie Jaws was Ocean Horror Show still goes over really well.
The US is not a free country with its 2 party system where rulers "disagree" on a few fake issues. I am an American living in Russia. Here things are more libertarian. The government stays out of the business of regulating people's personal lives An example: can you imagine the Russians passing a law saying that Russian men need to be background checked before being allowed to talk to an American woman online? Joe Biden did exactly that with the IMBRA law which panders to radical feminists.
Right-Wing political action committees have people on payrolls in boiler rooms like telemarketers (NEWSMAX) whose sole purpose is to call in to radio talk shows, write letters to newspapers and, post right wing messages on internet bulletin boards while posing as the general public in order to give an effective illusion of a very conservative general public. I think you should spend some time exposing this deception!
If you want to talk about politics why don't you discuss subjects then, talk about a subject and give us your thoughts about it so we can react to it. I mean this video is useless, it doesn't broaden anyone's mind.
Wow ....What you have just described sure sounds like the very same REPUBLICAN government we have had for the last 7 & 1/2 years!...And you actually think you are describing socialism?????? What a sheeple!
Good Video...Tells the truth from a young person's point of view. We ned fresh ideas. Go Obama! '08
Do you disagree or agree with the point I mentioned?
I am not a Bush or mccain fan either.
The only real traditional republican is Ron Paul.
The fact that you say GO OBAMA lets me know you might be stuck in political prison as well, both obama and mccain suck man. I know what socialism is I've lived in a socialist country for years.
why do you think a guy like Ron Paul does not get a chance? tell me....
By the only traditional Republican you mean like from the days of Abraham Lincoln because you know the party's changed over the years and the reason why Ron Paul lost badly is because he seems to have divided part of the Republican party. You know after he dropped out he refused to endorse McCain. Which I greatly appreciate because I'm for Obama and If McCain can't get Ron Paul voters while Obama is getting Hillary voters. that means they are not getting as many votes. So thank you Ron Paul.
Ron Paul does not stand a chance because his POLICIES are not the ones of the federal reserve, the CIA, the military industrial complex, the open borders advocates, APAIC, etc etc ect. GET REAL PEOPLE stop thinking in DEMOCRATS VERUS REPUBLICANS, dont fall for it.
wake up and smeel the coffee man, obama is bad and mccain is bad. that you say you are "for Obama" tells me you are not really getting it yet, it'll come I hope.
It's too late for that we're in the general election now. Mike Gravel, Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich it's game over for them. In fact it's been game over for awhile now. So just move on already you should've given this message back in January when the primaries were just beginning. So move along. And If you think Ralph Nader, or Bob Barr stand a chance, your living in the dream world.
totally useless reaction. you don't get the problems the U.S.A is facing. forget it mate. Just vote obama and you will get CHANGE...you can move on that way but remember you won't come very far. and yes Mccain sucks as well.
Well we do agree on one thing where McCain sucks you know Barack Obama is offering change while McCain is offering George W. Bush's third term. And you don't like Obama though but like it or not one of them is gonna be president so live with it!
listen whoever is chosen I can live with it but thats not the issue or solution on the long term, do you even get my point?
Obama isn't changing the structural things that need change either (federal reserve, CIA, open border advocates, APAIC, illegal immigration, military industrial complex, etc etc etc) wisen up about this man dos ome research Obama is not the wanted CHANGE either. he is only going to increase your taxes to use it for the gov agenda.
I don't give a shit about taxes I'm middle class besides he only raises taxes for those who make the highest amount of money like Bill Gates and will use the tax money for the right reasons. Unlike stupid Bush.
middle class taxes will go up very significantly as well. Bill gates DOES not give a shit! Normal people like you will be paying more and more and more taxes, like in Europe. Through high taxes you will be financing the agenda of the government that is not aimed at what is good for YOU but is aimed at what is good for them. and you won't even know or be able to decide what they spend it on.
Listen, you will get to understand this in time, then think about what I've just said to you ok.
and no I am not a bush fan or mccain, I dislike them all because I am honest. we have to talk about subjects honestly before we choose sides straight away.
I do kind of like Ron Paul, but he doesn't stand a chance because the powerful elite do not want him in office.
I was actually afraid she would somehow get him assassinated. She made a comment about Robert Kennedy and the primaries. How he was ahead but ... I was like WTF is she implying that he will be assassinated and not finish.
Ron Pauls politics are too idealised. I'm not saying their not right, I'm saying their impractical. You have to learn to deal with the system, no matter who and where you are. That is precisely what Obama is preaching. Both he and Paul appear to me to be individuals of high character with a good moral compass. He'll do the right thing. Isn't he the one who said something about swimming in murky water but with the intent on cleaning it up...or something like that?
what exactly do you think is too idealised regarding Ron Paul and how would obama do this differently?
You are aware Obama is (just like Mccain and Bush) only a puppet for powerful people behind it right? You are,for example, aware of the federal reserve issue? what exactly is in your opinion so good about Obama?
Well, for starters his attitude towards federal organizations. Their failure is not on account of the incompetence of federal government , but the mismanagement by Bush(putting his friends and family in those organizations is a good start..) and his administration, and the involvement businesses to make a profit out of what should be a purely government issue (healthcare). If you suddenly removed federal supervision of education, creationism and intelligent design would be taught in schools;..
...if you reduced the healthcare situation to private corporations, in today's healthcare industry world..the poor couldn't afford any. You can't just remove whole billion dollar industries, it's been tried and can't work (psst..due to lobbyists). Paul's gung ho attitude is very honest, and such an attitude is admirable in human beings, and were he talking about his own life...possible. But he is ignoring the fact that he has to deal,HAS TO..with a flawed , corrupt system,..
..that should it be recast would tend towards corruption due to human weakness.
The solution to the federal problem is to make it purely independent of political parties, with their own management and agendas. But now even the CIA and the military is getting heavily drenched in politics...that's a problem.
The Federal Reserve problem , again, is valid..but it's been around forever. You can't go back to the gold standard in a world progressing at a rate at which it is today...
This is why most progressive countries do have a Reserve bank. The fact that it has seriously abused by the Bush Administration doesn't mean it is bad. Without it the human genome project would not have completed. It's the ability to just "write a check" that actually get's things done...albeit at the cost of slavery :\.
Obama isn't perfect, but he's the LEAST of all evils by embarrassing margins. He may not say the absolute truth like Paul,or be truly independent, but he's the step forward.
trust me you don't have to worry about the press with Obama. He can do no wrong according to those in the media. I hope you can come to your senses and Vote McCain or just don't vote at all. Barrack Obamo is not the right choice to lead this country. Not fit to lead anyone. He has a completely socialist agenda. He and many he is close to are full blown racists. He is "friendly" as he put with at least two known terrorists. He has accomplished 0 since taking office. WTF really...
US lives on a biased scale of politics, being purely capitalist. Only way you can balance the country out is if you add Socialism. There is no Left Wing in the US, they like to say Democrat is, it's not, it's just less Right Wing than Republicans.
But the US Government wont want Socialism because they only care about money and power really. They'll label it "Communist" and make their citizens FEAR socialism.
But you can't have a proper government without giving to the people.
Now that the primary is over, Obama/Clinton have unified (totally knew this would happen tho at the start, thought Clinton would win). They understand the filth of politics enough to get over it. O is stalling to keep people guessing (interest) in whether he'll pick Clinton (this will happen).
What do I think? I'm aware of what's happening but I'm an anarchist is the best I can explain.
This vlog shows growth for u. No reason you can't be humurous and sit back and talk issues now and then. ;)
I really wanted to like Hillary Clinton. I've been an Obama supporter from Day One but I really wanted to give Clinton the benefit of the doubt but her attitude and actions have left no doubt in my mind that Obama is the better candidate. Of course, this is all moot now but for some reason I just wanted to share my thoughts. Great vids!
Did you see the "Off-mic" bit between Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Al was telling Jesse that Obama was talking down to black people (Obama said, "There are too many absent fathers in our community.") so Al told Jesse how furious he was about it. Al said: "I want to cut his balls off."
Jesse didn't say a word. (Wise.)
Hey Al, how about you cut your balls off. Then we'll cut our balls off. Then we can all run around as Eunichs singing the Oooommphaloooompa song in perfect harmony.
dude - do you even watch tv? this is so erroneous. the conversation was between jesse and another guy - who doesn't say a word. al sharpton wasn't even there.
Yeah, you got me, sorry about that. I saw that on tv a while back and remembered it wrong, and then went back and YouTubed it and I'm all like "OOOps oh shit!" But I couldn't remember what thread it was so I couldn't fix it!
Okay.
JESSE: tell ya what; you cut your nuts off, then we'll cut our nuts off. Then we can all dance around singing the Ooomphaloompha song in perfect harmony.
I feel much better now. Thank you for the reminder!
It's amazing, now, two months removed, to go back and see you saying this and to see how right you were back then. And that was exactly the commentary that was running through my head back then, word for word. But I think that's why Hillary lost it in the end. People could just sense she was in it for purely selfish, even materialistic reasons. And I'm sick now of hearing how much she owes and what Obama has to do to help her pay off that 20 mil. Fuck her! She made her grimy bed.
Politics in the U.S. is such a deep subject! Well Obama Got the win This could be a good thing. The trouble with our society is If you are not white You are considered a threat in some way.Just look at The Indians My ancestors. I personally think it is time for a change.Lets get away from forein oil,and our dependence on it.For one thing and just maybe bring back some of the jobs that NAFTA sent overseas. What do You think?
I have a question for you, LisaNova. I know it will seem rare but it makes sense. ;)
If USA president governs the world (or at least he does what he wants and no one stops him; maybe not "him" anymore...) why the rest of the world doesn't have right for voting? haha. ;)
Is this racist & sexist society ready for a woman president or a black president?
I am joking but half serious. ^_^
Hugs from Europe Union... where everything is always better (irony).
For someone whose been a dedicated democrat, when I heard other "democrats" proclaiming that they were going to vote for Mccain simply because the opposition (Obama) was African-American, well, let's just say that that didn't set well with me. To think that this election might come down to a battle of races..well, it had never occured to me that people would be THIS pathetic.
I think that if Obama loses now, Hillary's political future will be completely ruined, because everyone will blame it on her, and rightfully so. I think she's cost Obama more democratic votes than McCain could ever have swayed on his own accord, and that's truly sick. However, overall, I'm happy- no matter who gets it, be it Obama, McCain, or even a surprise Bloomberg, it will DEFINITELY improve the country from it's current state, with our president now. Things can only go up.
Vote Ron Paul! Obama is not change, look at his voting record. The guy says anything to make people think he is for change. McCain is another Bush, all about war. Learn about "why" we are in the middle east and none of these scums will suffice.
As an australian, i think american politics is SO confusing, our media should focus a little more on your elections, cause whatever happens over there affects our country too. Maybe you can do a "politics for dummies" video to help us out? Done by gabby? Maybe?
McCain will probably win, but if he doesnt, things will still stay the same. We need to open our minds to something other than the two party system. We may be screwing ourselves by falling in line with rudimentary politics.
exactly what you said: urban people/college students all love obama, but you know how bush got elected twice? the rural people. seriously. there are way more of them than you think. mccain is chillaxin cause he knows it. we urban hipsters can love obama and how "black" we like to beleive he is, and feel so proud of being so "open minded" but really, all that didnt help for the past 2 elections. hillary had a better chance against mccain, because racism is still very strong in rural america.
well there was a bit of truth in what aqward said, but I dunno about getting ''them'' into russia. NOT ALL JEWS ARE THE SAME. People do need to realize the extent of KGB Soviet 'mind control' going on here in the United States. If you know nothing of mind control brainwashing tactics and have not seen FOIA documents on these weapons and processes, than your opinion on it doesnt count..in my opinion...we are heading towards a marxist/leninist gov't bc of mediocrity and bc of general aloofness
I think that obama being african american definitely gives him an advantage, but also being a woman may give hilary an advantage. Either way, both are getting votes in the light that people blind vote all the time. I just wish that more people were politically educated during this important election.
Now it doesn't really matter because Obama's the nominee!!
We all want obama..from greece actually..we don't want an other guy with an iq of a 5 years old child..did he really actually said once:''i read 3 amlets''??.....omfg!!!!!
As you know, Hilary's dropped out of the presidential race and Obama has won for the democrats. I come from Canada myself so I also have a bit of an outsiders view.
Hilary seemed totally shady to me from the start, I just can't bring myself to trust her. Then you see Obama, and you're so right about his speeches. I see him as a really genuine, passionate person, and he's inspired so many people this way so far.
Hey, I'm from the UK so i've got kinda more of an outsider view. When you were talking about "playing the race card", some news station over here said that more people would admit that they were against hilary cos she's a woman and admit that they were racist and vote for Obama
Personally I think the only thing Hillary has going for her is that she is a woman. If she was a man she would have been out of the reckoning a long time ago. She has negative charisma.
Hey Lisa, I don't live in the usa, but I don't think Hilary will win either.
(I think race isn't a factor. For black voters it's huge, but mainly for the fact that it's a black man. ) I also agree with this part. It's sooo true.
If Obama goes up against McCain, I think obama would win. People who are voting for Hilary should switch thier votes to Obama now, no point on voting for her.
Mccain is a stooge. Who is he? who even cares. Everybody knows Obama is head and shoulders above the other candidates. You can tell how much of a threat he is by the fact that the republican media machine already got into full swing before he had even won the democratic nomination.
But then I don't live in America, and am probably totally wrong.
we are still voting for politicians/lawyers/business. When we can vote for a carpenter, nurse, truck driver, decent actor, mother, athlete, etc, then this country will have a chance. Until then I will listen to rhetoric, because I have no choice. No Choice, No choice, no choice
Ralph Nader represents another choice. Nader has dedicated his life to positive social change in America and he wants to be on your state ballot and all the other state ballots so that he must be invited to the televised presidential debates later this fall. If he makes it into the debates then you will see a real difference and a true alternative to the status quo.
It's not the fault of FL Democrats that the Republican legislature moved the date of their primary, in violation of DNC rules. And FL Dems have reason to feel jilted (and Dems nationwide, concerned about FL) given the 2000 election fiasco.
But I don't think that's what's motivating Clinton or her supporters, although some pretend it is.
A lot of the diehards say they'll vote for McCain now, since Obama "stole" the nomination. We'll have to hope they've calmed down by November.
I know that wasn't very profound, but it's difficult to say anything insightful with that "Remaining character count:" ticking down like the climax of a Simpsons movie.
I think race isn't a factor. For black voters it's huge, but mainly for the fact that it's a black man. It sucks that race is involved, just pick the best of the two.Hillary can't win. She's not who I want in the White House.
Ron Paul could have been the change we needed but nobody really wanted change. They just wanted to be pumped up and to be made to feel good. Just getting rid of the current party doesn't mean you're gonna have a better result. Get rid of agendas, you bring America back.
britain has turned into a nanny state.. we have more laws than anyone and we even have street signs in polish to accomodate the thousands coming inUKs fucked..You can't touch a kid anymore.. not even a hi five lol.. and racial comments are taboo (but only if you're white). this country is beginning to suck. time to join the other brits and abandon ship..Australia has a better standard of living these days and the laws are better. (just thought id get it out)
A lot of women want to see Clinton as president and its understandable.Wanting to see a woman I mean. But what I have seen of Clinton during this campaign is not what I would expect in a lady president. She is too hard, desperate,a liar, conniving, and feels entitled.Nancy Pelosi is my kind of woman president! Cant say Condleezza Rice because shes part of Bush and was for the Iraq war.
Obama as far as Energy especially going 'Green' is not a progressive. A nexus of Coal Industry and Government officials have devised a way to bring back the sagging fortunes of the coal industry. Initially, Bunning and presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., coauthored the Coal-to-Liquid Fuels Promotion Act of 2007 and introduced it to the Senate in January. Going green with the other 'green'.
I live in Illinois, where Obama is our freshman senator. I didn't vote for him when he was running for the Senate, so why start now?
(and please please please somebody call me a racist for voting for the other guy, and please please please do it before googling for pictures of Alan Keyes lol)
I am now thinking philosophically on how physical appearance enhances or detracts from the substance of a persons youtube message. Cant figure it out.
I figured it out. Its an impossible question, but speaking generally, its based on individual values.
So L.Rhodes will draw the spectrum of people from those who dont give a damn about her issues to those political nuts. The appearance factor though plays heavily in drawing people in initially, and regardless of the message would garner responses ranging from "you're stuck-up" to "you're hot" to "i'm only pretending to debate so I can talk to you."
Richard Roeper from the Chicago Sun Times has a theory that Hillary isn't really running for president in 2008 anymore -- she's running for 2012. And to that end, it will be easier for her to run against a Republican president than an incumbent Democrat. So she is deliberately sabotaging Obama's campaign by staying in the race this long, in the hopes that she can run against McCain in 2012.
This is actually Dick Morris's (Former Clinton advisor from the late 90's) theory He's been saying it for weeks. He calls it a 'Hunting License'. Plus Hillary and Michelle O. can't stand each other so there will be no dream ticket.
Loved seeing this. Thanks so much. I've been watching you for a while and it's great to find out you're an Obama supporter and that you're so honestly appraising Hillary's devisive and deceptive ways. And boy did you call it about Hillary wishing ill on Barack, what with her recent RFK assassination freudian slip. Thanks! Gobama!!!
Damn super beautiful super gorgeous lady talking politics. Who cares about Obama. Girl you got to do some entertainment clips. Show some skin men will go wild, guaranteed.
And I think you're right, he is forthright and it seems his goal is to unify the base, and in turn, the country. And its a breath of fresh air to me to hear someone trying to do that. As he said, "They're not those kids, they're our kids." The greatest thing I've ever heard.
I like you're style. Keep it up. This is a new world, and its people like you who are going to help change it. Matthew

obama is going to make everyone lazy and dependant on welfare. and hillary wants to attack africa. and mcain has pts I could beat him. we are going to be in trouble no matter what.
thanks for the ending there about the "fuck you Lisa I love Hillary!" that cracked me up cause i'm sure theres people like that, nice views though, kudos ^^
I really enjoyed this video, and was kinda amused by the drunken rant video. However, I would love to see you do more vids sober with your spin. Quite enjoyable.
If John Mcain is voted in as president we will see nothing but endless war as Mcain continues to follow the neo-cons deadly foeign policy to bring America to the brink of WW3.
Dr. Ron Paul is the only sensible candidate capable of resolving this looming disaster which if not corrected will turn American civilization on its head.
The permenent regime promotes "conservative" Republican presidential candidates who are nothing but the same old system hacks packages slightly differently.
The same phenomenon is occuring in the Democrat party with the marketing of Obama as an "outsider" and "reformer".
The Democrats dominated the 2006 election by promising to end the Iraq invasion but have not delivered.Barack Obama just does the bidding of big business and endorses neo-con foreign policy while hillary does the same.
some humor cant be translated, odama is wright,is his upbringing full on.there class has been separated and shown,to speak of it is not a bad thing.the muslims always attack me for none vote why?there is so much hidden.well its ova, good luck and i hope i am proved wrong.sorry i dont say more!random speech is not rehurst for comfort, the deadliest person is a cunning weaver ,so i hope someone makes it harder in that sense.i hear it all sweaty. so much change ahead ,but i got sense.
Both Clinton and Obama are closet socialists. Marxists to a lesser degree. Please look at "policy" issues. Charisma and being able to deliver a speech should be in a distant second. YOUR NOT VOTING FOR THE PROM KING AND QUEEN. Youtube some of AYN RAND'S interviews. The woman will knock your socks off
And watch the views drop like flies! HAH!
Lisa, I have a new-found respect for you. I guess it's a bit late to comment 'ay.

socialist 100%, meaning:
- big government
- high taxes
- little individual freedom and selfdetermination, the state decides for you
- no 1st and 2nd amendment
- keeping people welfare dependent

Good Video...Tells the truth from a young person's point of view. We ned fresh ideas. Go Obama! '08
riversraneast 3 years ago
Do you disagree or agree with the point I mentioned?
I am not a Bush or mccain fan either.
The only real traditional republican is Ron Paul.
The fact that you say GO OBAMA lets me know you might be stuck in political prison as well, both obama and mccain suck man. I know what socialism is I've lived in a socialist country for years.
why do you think a guy like Ron Paul does not get a chance? tell me....
Oceanica22 3 years ago
By the only traditional Republican you mean like from the days of Abraham Lincoln because you know the party's changed over the years and the reason why Ron Paul lost badly is because he seems to have divided part of the Republican party. You know after he dropped out he refused to endorse McCain. Which I greatly appreciate because I'm for Obama and If McCain can't get Ron Paul voters while Obama is getting Hillary voters. that means they are not getting as many votes. So thank you Ron Paul.
gurney50 3 years ago
NO.
Oceanica22 3 years ago
It's too late for that we're in the general election now. Mike Gravel, Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich it's game over for them. In fact it's been game over for awhile now. So just move on already you should've given this message back in January when the primaries were just beginning. So move along. And If you think Ralph Nader, or Bob Barr stand a chance, your living in the dream world.
gurney50 3 years ago
totally useless reaction. you don't get the problems the U.S.A is facing. forget it mate. Just vote obama and you will get CHANGE...you can move on that way but remember you won't come very far. and yes Mccain sucks as well.
Oceanica22 3 years ago
Well we do agree on one thing where McCain sucks you know Barack Obama is offering change while McCain is offering George W. Bush's third term. And you don't like Obama though but like it or not one of them is gonna be president so live with it!
gurney50 3 years ago
listen whoever is chosen I can live with it but thats not the issue or solution on the long term, do you even get my point?
Obama isn't changing the structural things that need change either (federal reserve, CIA, open border advocates, APAIC, illegal immigration, military industrial complex, etc etc etc) wisen up about this man dos ome research Obama is not the wanted CHANGE either. he is only going to increase your taxes to use it for the gov agenda.
Oceanica22 3 years ago
I don't give a shit about taxes I'm middle class besides he only raises taxes for those who make the highest amount of money like Bill Gates and will use the tax money for the right reasons. Unlike stupid Bush.
gurney50 3 years ago
middle class taxes will go up very significantly as well.
Listen, you will get to understand this in time, then think about what I've just said to you ok.
peace

socialist 100%, meaning:
- big government
- high taxes
- little individual freedom and selfdetermination, the state decides for you
- no 1st and 2nd amendment
- keeping people welfare dependent
- facilitating victimhood of minorities instead of facilitating self reliance
- open borders and celebrating diversity instead of unity (global "hidden" agenda to break up nation states)
- to destroy social cohesion and screw all decent, free citizens of any colour over.
Oceanica22 3 years ago
and no I am not a bush fan or mccain, I dislike them all because I am honest. we have to talk about subjects honestly before we choose sides straight away.
I do kind of like Ron Paul, but he doesn't stand a chance because the powerful elite do not want him in office.

I am sorry, but both Obama and Hillary are terrible. As well as Mccain.
Ron Paul is the only decent politician in my opinion that doesn't only serve big business and global politics behind it.
Oceanica22 3 years ago
Amen. I truly appreciate this comment.
VaniVamp 3 years ago
Ron Pauls politics are too idealised. I'm not saying their not right, I'm saying their impractical. You have to learn to deal with the system, no matter who and where you are. That is precisely what Obama is preaching. Both he and Paul appear to me to be individuals of high character with a good moral compass. He'll do the right thing. Isn't he the one who said something about swimming in murky water but with the intent on cleaning it up...or something like that?
LupineLooPine 3 years ago
what exactly do you think is too idealised regarding Ron Paul and how would obama do this differently?
You are aware Obama is (just like Mccain and Bush) only a puppet for powerful people behind it right? You are,for example, aware of the federal reserve issue? what exactly is in your opinion so good about Obama?
Oceanica22 3 years ago 2
Well, for starters his attitude towards federal organizations. Their failure is not on account of the incompetence of federal government , but the mismanagement by Bush(putting his friends and family in those organizations is a good start..) and his administration, and the involvement businesses to make a profit out of what should be a purely government issue (healthcare). If you suddenly removed federal supervision of education, creationism and intelligent design would be taught in schools;..
LupineLooPine 3 years ago
...if you reduced the healthcare situation to private corporations, in today's healthcare industry world..the poor couldn't afford any.
LupineLooPine 3 years ago
..that should it be recast would tend towards corruption due to human weakness.
LupineLooPine 3 years ago
This is why most progressive countries do have a Reserve bank. The fact that it has seriously abused by the Bush Administration doesn't mean it is bad. Without it the human genome project would not have completed. It's the ability to just "write a check" that actually get's things done...albeit at the cost of slavery :\.
Obama isn't perfect, but he's the LEAST of all evils by embarrassing margins. He may not say the absolute truth like Paul,or be truly independent, but he's the step forward.
LupineLooPine 3 years ago
trust me you don't have to worry about the press with Obama.

Liberty is bull.

BTW Lisa,
Did you see the "Off-mic" bit between Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Al was telling Jesse that Obama was talking down to black people (Obama said, "There are too many absent fathers in our community.") so Al told Jesse how furious he was about it. Al said: "I want to cut his balls off."
Jesse didn't say a word. (Wise.)
Hey Al, how about you cut your balls off. Then we'll cut our balls off. Then we can all run around as Eunichs singing the Oooommphaloooompa song in perfect harmony.

Okay.

I feel much better now. Thank you for the reminder!

Lisa,
It's amazing, now, two months removed, to go back and see you saying this and to see how right you were back then.

Things can only go up.
zagreen 3 years ago
Vote Ron Paul! Obama is not change, look at his voting record. The guy says anything to make people think he is for change. McCain is another Bush, all about war. Learn about "why" we are in the middle east and none of these scums will suffice.

This is a really historic election. ^^
bondageandflowers 3 years ago
Hey, I'm from the UK so i've got kinda more of an outsider view. When you were talking about "playing the race card", some news station over here said that more people would admit that they were against hilary cos she's a woman and admit that they were racist and vote for Obama
slayer7291 3 years ago

But then I don't live in America, and am probably totally wrong.

ranpri09 3 years ago

We'll have to hope they've calmed down by November.
kvschwartz 3 years ago
I know that wasn't very profound, but it's difficult to say anything insightful with that "Remaining character count:" ticking down like the climax of a Simpsons movie.
kvschwartz 3 years ago
I think race isn't a factor. For black voters it's huge, but mainly for the fact that it's a black man. It sucks that race is involved, just pick the best of the two.Hillary can't win. She's not who I want in the White House.
Ron Paul could have been the change we needed but nobody really wanted change. They just wanted to be pumped up and to be made to feel good. Just getting rid of the current party doesn't mean you're gonna have a better result. Get rid of agendas, you bring America back.

I am now thinking philosophically on how physical appearance enhances or detracts from the substance of a persons youtube message. Cant figure it out.
silus2000 3 years ago
I figured it out. Its an impossible question, but speaking generally, its based on individual values.
So L.Rhodes will draw the spectrum of people from those who dont give a damn about her issues to those political nuts. The appearance factor though plays heavily in drawing people in initially, and regardless of the message would garner responses ranging from "you're stuck-up" to "you're hot" to "i'm only pretending to debate so I can talk to you."
Seperate words from messenger = impossible
silus2000 3 years ago
Richard Roeper from the Chicago Sun Times has a theory that Hillary isn't really running for president in 2008 anymore -- she's running for 2012. And to that end, it will be easier for her to run against a Republican president than an incumbent Democrat. So she is deliberately sabotaging Obama's campaign by staying in the race this long, in the hopes that she can run against McCain in 2012.
BillyBughead 3 years ago
This is actually Dick Morris's (Former Clinton advisor from the late 90's) theory He's been saying it for weeks. He calls it a 'Hunting License'. Plus Hillary and Michelle O. can't stand each other so there will be no dream ticket.

The Democrats dominated the 2006 election by promising to end the Iraq invasion but have not delivered.Barack Obama just does the bidding of big business and endorses neo-con foreign policy while hillary does the same.

hi, im from the uk but we are still hooked on your politics.
when it comes down to the real election i think it will be close. obama could get the youth vote. but i fear race could be a factor.
also i can get disillusioned with politics as i wonder if obama will bring real change?
and the more hot girls talking about politics the better :P (sry for the sexist comment)

If you want a discussion, get the hell away from Youtube. You come to Youtube... to talk politics?
You'd be better off pouring sulphuric acid in your ears.
