Hope this is helpful: Your slap considering you're just learning it is pretty good. You're using the wrong technique for this song though. Notice how your hand gets tired REALLY fast from all the rapid thumb movement. Fieldy adds a third kind of staccato to replace the thumb slap, thus enabling more rapid staccatos without expending too much energy. Most bassists do not use this technique. Use the back of your nails and just strum it acros the strings. See "IMV - Fieldy trailer" for more info.

Fiddle about with your EQ on your bass.

Fieldy just completely removes all the mid tones from his EQ.

Should help. Gives you that kinda "Wet" floppy sound.

you dont need the K5, get an Ibanez SRS505 of SRS905...the K5 is an SRS505 (i think) with different pickups for a lower tone, different hardware, etc.
