  • My wife was the manager, my children(3 of them) worked there as well as myself. We are all in this "shockumentary" Nothing you see here is as it seems. I am in no way defending Sue Sternberg as we all lost our jobs because she wanted a staff that would agree with her without opposing her in any way. If anyone is interested in the truth just google "The Truth About Rondout Valley Kennels" and it will give you a look into this shelter.

  • There aren't enough volunteers or money to live the "no kill shelter" pipe dream. Unadoptable dogs, the ones who are vicious (but are really just afraid), they live their lives in cages spinning in circles and snapping at any living thing that comes near. They live a solitary life devoid of love and companionship. Is that really humane? No one wants to see dogs put down. But it's worse to see them live forever in no kill shelters where their bodies are alive but their spirits are left to die.

  • notice how its mostly pit bulls. there so misunderstood and the pit bull owner seemed to be the one who had the hardest time surrendering her dog

  • people sicken me. make sacrifices so you can keep your dog but don't sacrifice your dogs life. thats selfish and inhumane. dogs are mens best friend. simply "giving away" your dog is like handing over your child. do you honestly think its "fair" to euthanize your dog or to give it to a shelter where it will sleep on concrete for the rest of its life just because YOU can't afford it anymore? when all it's done is love, protect and comfort you? how could anyone do that to the animal they "love"...

  • summer, i have seen the same behavior exhibited from many dogs as well as other animals. it is a survival instinct and does not mean the animal is violent by nature. Dogs can be trained to break this habit, even older dogs. they say you cant teach an old dog new tricks, from my experience though dogs more well behaved the older they get, kind of how (most) people maure as they get older. keep up the traiing, your dog will come around eventually :)

  • All that time she spends killing dogs could be spent taking them for walks instead

  • Filthy piece of shit this Sue Sternberg!

  • @animallover3667 this is the first day i've ever heard about sue sternburg and ive been sick all day. agreed.

and to that fat nasty pig who gave up her animal: you're clearly not starving, but you're willing to sacrifice your dog for more cheetos? i hope his ghost haunts you every time you hit the lights, you disgusting hunk of worthless lard.

  • @conchalibre good point

  • Sue Sterberg is a dog killer. she is a worthless animal killer and she should be shot

  • @AnimalLover3667

I agree, when I saw the special and she kept teasing that little cocker spaniel unitll he had enough was just wrong.. only to proof she was right and her staff was wrong. God just adopt the dog out with no kids.. Murdering Idiot.

  • @summerbrezz74 I also thought it was wrong for her to have that dog put down, many dogs are very protective over their food, the key is not picking them up while they are eating, not putting down a perfectly healthy animal. It was hard to watch.

  • My dog I adopted 6 months ago is food protective and gets protective when one of my cats go by. I have been working with him and he knows to let the cats be and their not going to take his meal.

  • It's so annoying to see owners who abandon their dogs. Why the hell did they started having pets in the first place? Having a pet is a responsibility and I completely blame the owners for their faliure on responsibility.

  • I have a solution for the dogs in shelters.

Make power generators in the form of treadmills and let the dogs run on them for a few hours a day and generate electricity which the shelter can sell to the electric grid. Use the money to buy them food, pay other bills and save some for dog-pension fund when they get old and can no longer walk.

Train the dogs to get to "work" on their own so minimal supervision would be required.

Well, at least, that is what we humans do to our fellow humans.

  • @gespilk

Another method which is less expensive is to ask volunteers to walk the dogs, play with them. One cool way is letting the dogs chase a laser pointer. Many bully and terrier dogs (which sadly are in most shelters) go crazy and can use so much energy in a few minutes chasing the red dot.

  • This doc was so sad
