This is not the anomaly this nut-job thinks it is. Customs like this are placed in culture to keep people, especially women, weak and frail. The same thing is done in Africa and for over 1,000 years in China men bound and broke the feet of young girls. In Europe the advent of the corset was to make women appear petite. See the pattern?
