@pinoi78 Dunno. They announced it back in 2010, but as usual for this company, nothing arrives on time. If you're interested in it, you should contact Rick at New Force Comics. He's usually got some info.
According to John Eaves, the Enterprise-E was to have been retrofit at the end of Star Trek Nemesis but due to budgetary reasons and script changes the Enterprise was only seen being repaired in dry dock.
To me that translates to a Possible 3rd Refit / Sovereign Class - Mark 3
Its assumed that after Insurrection, she underwent a refit overhaul. Namingly due to the Battle of Sector 001 and U.S.S. Voyager's return Home. So actually They used the mold for the Sovereign Class (Mark 2)
@pinoi78 The repaint is suposed to have a more screen accurate paint job. The prototype shows the aztecs in the gray area are not as dark (the gray that is), there is aztec paint seen in the white area on the upper primary, the missing lifeboats are present, and aztecing now appears on the secondary hull....again, according to the prototype photos I've seen.
I just uploaded a few of my green screen tests I did with my Art Asylum Enterprise-D model back in the spring. You can see them both on my youtube page. I will probably have a simpler comparison of the Bandai and AMT one with some description when I post that comparison however I will use it for green screening like the two videos I just added. Check them out, kind of neat stuff.
Good review, I considered pre-ordering a few months back when the Nemesis one first showed up. However I landed an e-bayed version of Bandai's model with the fully lit kit, which I have sitting next to me along with my Art Asylum Ent-D which I modified to have fully painted black and white windows. I honestly think after seeing this review that I made a good choice in getting the Bandai version and perhaps I should get some video of it compared to my older ATM model of the Ent-E for comparison.
@e0ytk I think that is a wonderful idea. In fact, I have a reissued AMT Enterprise E model (unbuilt) that I completely neglected to compare to this version. My have to do a second video.
But yes, please! I've always been curious about the Bandai Enterprise E. I would love to see that comparison!
@finalfrontier1701 OH yeah? I think my is the first issue, I built my AMT around 96-97ish right after First Contact came out, got it because the Playmates version kind of stunk since it used a prototype model of the Ent-E as a basis and thus didn't really look right. You should do a comparison between then all.
I shall do what I can to get some kind of comparison of the AMT and Bandai up, it's a beauty though, really don't notice too many flaws compared to other models out there.
When is DST going to reissue this?

@ewtng It would only make sense for it to be refited. I mean why build it the same when it could be better. :

Nice review as usual!
I just took my Enterprise-E from my shelf because I was sure the blue Warp Engine Field Grille lights up as well, but it doesn't.
Then I tried out if the light and sounds are still working and it kept playing only three of the effects.
Long story short, the reset button works. ;D

Have you ever considered painting the top of the pylons ?
Too many "projects"... not enough time ?
Excellent review. We appreciate it.

@finalfrontier1701 I got that comparison ready and loaded on my youtube with Bandai's Enterprise E.
You can see the Bandai compared with my AMT first generation model as well as with my Art Asylum Enterprise D model and the LEd vs. Rice bulb.
