  • ho my god, this is the real agent smith matrix of the film.

  • This biggot needs to be assasinated. if his SOPA gets his way, the internet as we know it will revert back to what it was 20 years ago. Our goverment wants to control every single american. If he gets his way with SOPA Taking a shit in your own toilet will soon be copyright infringement and you will get the electric chair for doing it.

  • This guy, Smith, is our enemy, fellow internet users! We must unite as a community to ensure that he does not gain any political office!

  • You guys, this is the same person who is trying to pass this stupid censorship act for the internet. We're lucky they are even holding a hearing for that. My point is though is that the opponents aren't even allowed at the hearing. So, he doesn't even care what the opponents think. He's just ignorant and we need to make sure he doesn't get into office again.

  • Lawyers get on this

  • 3) The DEA would have to do real Work and their numbers would get smaller as there would not be as great a need for as many Agents.

    4) Pot is bulky and easy to detect giving the Police easy Targets to make them look good when they find a Big Load

    5) It makes the Police Forces in EVERY City State and Federal Agencies Bigger to Fight The WAR ON DRUGS

    6) The Alcohol Industry has lots of Money to keep Pot from becoming available as many would rather get High and still be able to Funtion

    CONTINUED...

  • why does one asshat guy have so much power on what bills can or cannot be heard

  • the DC number had a voice mail inn box that was full :) and the Texas number askes you for and extension now and is answered by a machine operator that re directs you to a receptionist... :(

  • What Lamar Smith really meant with that anti-marijuana bullshit is.

    I OWN YOUR BODIES!!1!

  • Play me out, Lamar.

  • Its pathetic that the people REPRESENTING us don't want to hear what he have to say.....

  • @H3R0ify This is the fucking truth. Soon America will be the "Land of the Free (to do anything we say)"

  • legalize cannabis ...legalize cannabis...legalize cannabis

  • Is it only the Chairman of its assigned committee that can bring this up for a hearing? Or is there a way to get the committee that is assigned to this Act changed?

  • How can the Drug Cartel get "great profits" If the US legalizes weed?? we would shut them down for Marijuana now they go back to the Coke/Meth Game..not profit off weed b/c its legal makes no sense at all...I hate the government so corrupted

  • his facebook was shut down and relaunched with all the comments deleted. what a bitch move.

  • He's been "out of his DC office" for 5 hours..........lol

  • Sorry to be a buzzkill here, but it'll never happen. Not in my lifetime, or my kids, or their kids. With these corrupt politicians in control, it'll NEVER happen, as much as I would like it to.

  • @454ns 30 year olds make up the largest demographic age group. Do you REALLY think this plants power and uses are going to remain hidden that long? It will happen when we have a politician who isnt afraid to turn down campaign money. Someone who knows and understands that there are enough PAC's out there to get them elected if they just say Yes!

Kills Brain Cancer, Breast cancer, Huntingtons, PTSD, hypertension, pain, AIDS wasting... etc... What does the government have? NADA

  • @454ns Eventually the people in office now will be dead and gone and a new generation that is educated about marijuana will move in and legalize it. I swear this will happen soon we are so close, you just need faith!

  • @wiiLuvCalifornia How about just Educated in general...The people in office are complete retards.

  • @wiiLuvCalifornia Waiting for them to die is killing to many of us in the mean time.

  • 4 people need to smoke a J

  • 4 people need to lose the edge. and get laid.

  • good vidoe

  • change.org/petitions/let-the-end-marijuana-prohibition-act-get-a-hearing

  • Call the dc and texas numbers they leave messages for you !! real people answer!

  • I suggest people also go to Lamar Smith's Youtube channel and leave a comment there. Search "lamarsmithtexas21".

  • NORML should call this bill what it is... it's the repeal of federal cannabis prohibition and the removal of "marihuana" and "tetrahydrocannabinol" from the Controlled Substances Act!

nothing in the text of this bill actually says anything about legalizing (taxing, regulating and controlling) the cultivation, processing, transportation, distribution, sales, trade, sharing, possession, consumption and use of cannabis for industrial, medicinal, nutritional, spiritual and recreational purposes.

  • If we taxed the stuff wouldn't it shutdown Cartels profits? xD God... People these days dont know how to think.

  • Help help, I'm being repressed over here!

As much as I love living in America, there is a major drawback: I can't legally smoke weed. And this pisses me off. Most days I read Google Marijuana News and there are almost always stories of the cops confiscating marijuana.

    That means that:

    1. I must be very careful out there. The cops want to bust marijuana users.

    2. There is less weed on the street...

    read on at partyseeking.blogspot.com/2011/03/help-help-im-being-repressed-over-here.html

  • Lol go check his WikiPedia page, it's actually mentioning it there under his Personal Life haha

  • I hope Ron Paul wins in 2012

  • Please vote for Ron Paul in 2012. Smith thinks he's God - he's not! He's just an ignorant, corrupt tool of Big Business. He must be removed from any position of power.

  • Millions of Americans are incarcerated and labeled as criminals because they have been caught with a plant which has never killed anyone, given anyone cancer, and nearly impossible to overdose with. Further more there are many undeniable medical use for marijuana including the fact that it may be the cure for cancer and it has already been shown to shrink tumors and help with many other diseases. I'M IGNORANT, ASK ME IF I CARE! -Lamar Smith

  • Someone should bring this man to the attention of lulzsec. I suspect hilarity would ensue.

  • @Starclopsotube they is disband. Anon assumes role as acting as the Pluralistic Dickwad, proving the Greater Internet Dickwad Theory for 20's and 40% extreme opinion. In my estimation, cybercrime is a cheap cop out - if you want change you can get it through Democracy. If we're involved in our Politics heavily on a grassroots level, it cuts the chance of corruption b/c there's always a "We the People" near an elected official. Just talk it through - MLK Jr paved us our US Civil Disobedience rule

  • Just called the D.C. office, a hottie picked up. She said he was touring/speaking in Texas and would work on it when he got back? I think, something along those lines.

  • "Decriminalizing Marijuana will only lead to ... greater profits for drug cartels who fund violence along the US-Mexico border." This logic is just flawless. Yea man, the black market that now exists with the alcohol industry is super violent, takes money away from the government, and is a scourge to the children of this country, right?

  • en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Lamar_S._Smith

  • I am not sure how accurate this is, but interesting to look at.

Rep. Lamar Smith received $48K for campaigns from Big Pharma, over $30K from the alcohol industry & over $20K from the private prison corporations & now he's blocking HR2306..

Of course he's against the bill, It's not in his financial interest.

Call him: DC 202-225-4236, Texas 210-821-5024, and tell him to Man-Up and let this bill be heard and go to the Floor for a vote.

  • lamarsmith. house. gov/Contact/default. aspx (remove spaces)

  • How about we all vote for Ron Paul and do everything we can to get him into office? Then it would be a mute point.

  • Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX)

    DC Office: 202-225-4236

    TX Office: 210-821-5024

Encourage Congressman Smith to allow HR2306 on the floor.

  • why is he able to use the "smoked" marijuana is not a medicine when the researchers called for a trial into other methods of delivery and the original trial of smoked was never going to get approval to begin with? yet the federal government actually packs joints fr a number of patients on the grandfather list and have been doing so for many years with testing of patients showing little harms and below other legal prescribed drugs.

  • The U.S. Patent Office issued patent #6630507 to the U.S.Health and Human Services filed on 2/2/2001. The patent lists the use of certain cannabinoids found within the cannabis sativa plant as useful in certain neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and HIV dementia.

its one big lie to keep prisons open and give them a way into our homes ! it a fact its medicine at the least. this patent is conflict with the Federal law and the the patent is owned by our government !

  • People this is going to take organizing this is a civil rights issue now we need a million man march on Washington DC they refuse to hear our voice's the fact is they use marijuana prohibition as a way to lock up people and invade homes we need a Million man March i was thinking May 5th Next year long enough to organize and get more support its time people we need to protest ! we should also ask Lamar Smith About CCA its privatized prisons system in Texas in his district think people !

  • His Texas office is in San Antonio!

  • He looks like a tool.

  • @wrjamescom You haven't considered the Federal raids on States because in our governmental system, the Federal government's granted rights take precedence over State and Local levels. Whatever rights the Federal, State and Local governments don't reserve, the people have. If pot's legalized on a Federal level, it allows States to legalize without fear of repercussion by the Federal government. Point and matter, it's currently illegal and we want it to be legal. Period. No bs, no semantics. legal

  • Impeach him for not doing his job. How about that?

  • "The Food and Drug Administration has not approved smoked marijuana for any condition or disease." - Lamar Smith

So what, Lamar? Is this the same FDA that approved silicone gel breast implants as safe to put in women's bodies?

The same FDA that supports the ban on raw milk products in 21 states? Oh no! Americans might eat Brie! or Camembert! What if they start eating Bleu cheese!

The FDA can go screw itself. Their opinion on marijuana, like Smith's is out of date and totally uneducated.

  • Should edit this event into his Wikipedia-entry as well. Just the facts about it, not vandalize the entry. That he refuses to give it a hearing, that there's been massive public reaction to this and that his response was to delete and deny comments on FB and refusing to pick up the damn phone!

  • Such a happy tune.

  • 251 likes and 0 dislikes, that's all.

  • Wow the brain trusts coming out of Texas is shocking. Are they the children that were left behind?

  • @LighterOfDewbies And personally, I have never used pot, and never had any interest in even trying it. But it's a plant. It's pretty much produce, not unlike any other crop. Banning it, arresting people for it, is a waste of resources and outright silly at best. At the state level, drug laws are at least constitutional, thus legal. However they are impossible to enforce with any effectiveness without seriously infringing on constitutional rights of the people.

  • @wrjamescom Yes but you basically say this bill is "unconstitutional". All it really does is repeal a current law (Marijuana Prohibition that is unconstitutional. Repealing an unconstitutional is in itself, constitutional. What exactly do you see about this bill that is not constitutional?

  • Stop with all the hate...you are starting to sound like the damn prohibitionists..If your going to champion a cause, you do it with the best that is in you not the worst..Write, phone, Email, support with your dollars, thats how we bring down people like Rep. Smith

  • His mailboxes are full. I'm emailing him. Then calling tomorrow!

  • Y U NO WANT to give bill a hearing?

  • Should send letters to his office also, like post cards and birthday card with the message inside.

  • I'm calling twice, one will be to ask if his refrigerator is running.

  • Hes right decim will give cartels more money, untill you account for the fact that cartels exist to get a product to a area banning the product, If you make it legal or even decrimed the cartel is worthless

  • Maybe we should start a Google trend to get Lamars attention, Like constantly search "Lamar Smith Fascist" "Lamar Smith Allow the Hearing" something like that. EVERYONE THUMB THIS UP SO NORML CAN SEE AND ORCHESTRATE SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!!

  • @Anonman223 I sure will! brb...lmao. Besides its time for America's economy to return to the top as the Most Prosperous

  • @Anonman223 You can start this yourself! Post to your facebook wall, tweet it, everything helps. Norml can't do everything. It is up to us to spread the word and make the phone calls, and send the emails. Now get to work!

  • @Anonman223 we could use a headline from one of NORML's articles that talk about this guy

  • You just can't reach this guy and I suspect that even if you are able to get your message to him, he'll just ignore it. So much for the Will of the People! This guy really needs to go... Pay attention Texans - get him out as soon as possible! He obviously does not have the welfare of America in mind when he refuses to even discuss it or allow it to be voted on. I find myself wondering just how he is profiting from it's prohibition; private prison investments perhaps...

  • I wonder if during the ages of prohibition, if anyone seriously put forward the argument that if you legalize alcohol, Al-capone would get payed more...

  • "Allowing states to determine their own marijuana policy flies in the face of suprem court precedent"...

and if there were a anti-choice bill that would allow each state to decide it's own policies there, the guy would be all for it..

  • @thefakeyeti Where in the constitution is the federal government given authority of abortion? Like drugs, it's a state issue under amendments 9 and 10. When supreme court precedent is wrong, it should be overturned, and those sitting on the bench impeached and replaced if they refuse to respect the constitution. If you want abortion or pot to be nationally legal or illegal, then amend the constitution.

  • The people of Texas need to make sure this guy does not go back into office.

  • so what's his number?

  • Question..... doesn't the house use button press system for yay or nea then shown on a screen. OK BIG IDEA we need to get this scheduled then hire the dudes that hacked sony and BAM done deal. Legal weed yay # WINNING

  • He's wrong, it's prohibited because in the 30's America was more racist than it is now...

  • gota put it up during business hours or i'll forget, will try monday i guess

  • If you want another way to get the message thru to Lamar, try his YouTube channel. Leave a comment or send him a message.

  • ...how does decriminalizing marijuana lead to greater profits from the drug cartels?

Oh wait, I get it now, it doesn't and this guy is a corrupt piece of shit. Good thing I cleared that up for myself and everyone else.

  • @MaxMetal1993

Decriminalization WOULD lead to more profits for the cartel, LEGALIZATION would not...

Decrim essentially is telling people that it aint no biggy if they get caught with it, essentially a slap on the wrist, however it would still be heavvily against the law to own big quantities, to grow it, and to sell it..

EVENTUALLY, I would love to see a time when it's legal to grow as much of it as you want!

If it costs the same as a head of lettuce, good luck arguing that it causes vio-

  • @thefakeyeti hear hear.

  • @thefakeyeti I take your point on that, but if it was decriminalized I doubt the individual states themselves would keep it simply decriminalized, defeating the point of his arguement. A number of states would legalize and that would eventually hurt the drug cartels.

  • @MaxMetal1993 Actually, decriminalizing it, while keeping it illegal, could make it more profitable for the cartels. It very unlikely in my opinion, but possible. If the law allowed people to possess small amounts only, then those producing it would still be taking risks, even if you had more people with it. To remove the profits from the cartels, you'd need to decriminalize production as well. But you are right, he is a sleazy crook.

  • I left a message on his DC office, but his TX message is full... Is Lamar Smith hiding from the voting public?

  • Maybe if we film their children getting stoned it would help. This one ass of a man thinks the can tell millions of others how to act...these are the typed that much be deported.

  • Maybe if we film their children getting stoned it would help.

  • To anyone not calling believing that their call won't make a difference, maybe this bill will go nowhere. Most likely, it will. Its the first bill introduced to do anything effective on a federal level. However, pick up your phone, call these people, lets let these prohibitionist bastards know that its time to start packing and that their time is coming. Its time to wake up from the Nixon/Reagan version of the American Dream.

  • this is a great video. I am so proud of NORML. lets get this fight over with!!

  • Regardless of how much I wish this bill would pass, I'm not going to waste the time & energy. Why? Because I know it would never pass one, let alone both houses of Congress. It just does not have enough votes, and too many senators and representatives are adamantly against ending prohibition. It's a shame, I know, but that's just reality. Eventually, a bill like this will likely have enough support to pass and hopefully not get vetoed.

This is an encouraging first step, though.

  • @empyrealist Then we need to get those senators and representatives that are against ending prohibition out of office.

  • @empyrealist

I agree that it won't pass, HOWEVER that is not the point at this point in history. What it IS about is forcing discussion on it as much as possible..

Then the people can decide what side comes off as more reasonable, I think that MOST people move a little to our side when they hear debates and have discussions on it.. They may not be complete legalizers, but they start to support the idea of not going gung hoe on the "problem"..

  • Both his mailboxes are full

    Fuckin lul

  • We need anonymous to take down his website, flood his email, and send black pages to his fax machine XD

  • Wonder if its the $30300 donation from the Beer, Wine, and Liquor industry, or the $48,000 donation from the Pharmaceutical Industry in 2010 alone that has clouded his logical thought processes…

  • No one has ever died from smoking a joint, but thousands have on alcohol, which is legal. Makes no sense at all. My sons smoke every day and find it helps calm them down and relax. They used to take prescription drugs like Adderall and Ritalin for their ADHD, but hated the side effects. Now they just relax, smoke and "chill".

  • Absolutely ridiculous that one man can speak for the entire nation of America. It's not 'medically' accepted due to lobbyists from Alcohol, Tobbaco and prescription medications which rake in HUGE amounts of revenue from overpricing and ridiculous taxes which go to the companies and into the pockets of greedy fatcat politicians. I'm Australian so there's not much I can say to him. If anyone knows how I can help in trying to change his mind I'm all ears.

  • This guy cheats on his wife and yet he says we should get locked up if we smoke a joint! Unbelieveable!

  • Who cares about the food and drug administration they are not my god! What matters is WHAT I THINK AS A FREE AMERICAN ON WHAT I WANT TO PUT IN MY "OWN" BODY AS A MEDICATION. Look at the shit the FDA approves, oh ya that shit is so good and healthy for you.. The FDA need's to be abolished from out of our lives.. I say FREEDOM!!!!

  • This guy is such an idiot, how is growing it in America going to fund the cartel's growing it down south. That just doesn't make sense. You know what it will really do is cut the money out of the pocket's of the government that support's the drug cartel's, and that's the truth! We the people need to get rid of Republican's and the Democrat's they are nothing but trained politicians that are corrupt and do everything for their own personal gain. Let's take this government back people!!!

  • Since politicians (majority) are all about how

Much money they can get under the table, this will show who has a high probability of taking pay offs. If someone was smart, they would document who is saying no. I don't like saying, it seems that the most of Texas officials may be guilty.

  • Oh yes yes, has no benefits *sarcasm* tell tat to the cancer victims getting radiation treatment, that can now no only feel hunger and eat, but hold it down too.

  • Funny to say, this guy is my congressman

  • Is Lamar Smith flat out refusing to let the bill even get a hearing? Or is he simply saying that he will personally vote No himself on it?

  • When you guys call, be sure to be polite and throw facts at him. No deaths, money saved, etc. You CAN'T beat facts. Be sure to NOT say something along the lines of, "Yo bro, legalize the herb now." Thanks, oh and I'm calling his offices very soon. haha

  • Here's the ticket folks - If Congressman Smith's voicemail is full (which it is), please pick a constituent of his available at the DC office ( there are 8 mailboxes besides Rep Smith's)and express that you'd like Rep. Smith's employees to speak with Rep Smith regarding the massive public outpouring of support for this bill and to question Rep. Smith's responsibility as a Congressman to "represent We, the People, of the United States of America" rather than hold emotional or personal convictions

  • @Hijynx427 I spoke with a woman and left a message , his office is very nice and professional and suggest anyone who calls to be the same , trolling this man's office will only strengthen his reserve not to hear the bill.

  • @Hijynx427 can you give us the phone numbers to the other eight; and names, too? thanks

  • @wiseelvs It's really easy - call the DC office and you'll go to a pre-recorded msg. It'll say "if you want to leave a msg for Rep Smith, press 1" then it'll go through #'s 2 - 9 for the people he works with at that office. dial the DC number, hit 2, leave your msg then repeat the process for 3 - 9 on the dial pad.

  • It is absurd for them to not have the hearing of what the people want, who exactly are these politicians representing if it's not us, the people? This is supposedly a country ran "by the people, for the people." Let the will of the people be heard! The lines are busy now, keep it busy until it is heard!

  • perhaps notify people of that live in his district ie. news paper. about his blatant campaign lies about supporting states rights while at the same time he refuses to hear a bill that would take power away from the government and give it to the states

  • Please don't be rude. Pleas call him now.

  • Remember to be respectable everyone when you call. No one will take anyone seriously if you initiate a conversation based upon aggression or immaturity.

We should sent him to mexico and let the drug cartles hang him from a flag pole as a good luck charm for keeping them in business. Lamar Smith, making DEA rich with billions of taxpayers money sending NORML Americans to jail for growning/using cannabis weed. Plant a seed, make american cannabis green. Curse lamar Smith.

  • callin him from stockholm

  • call him 210-821-5024 legalize

  • i love it how people who dont know anything about cannabis and its prohibition just put up stonewall tactics as if they know and dont want to hear anymore about it. they turn away from the facts and the truth, that its really sad... typical politicians. maybe some of these congressmen had a personal bad experience from cannabis 2nd hand and are using it as a scapegoat for their feelings and anger. lets push that in their face so they are forced to weed through the facts and then maybe they will.

  • Please share this video with your friends!
